  1. Same question from me too.Recently started a topic about this but it petered out. I think my VRS needs an 18 inch tyre to clear the brakes.I'm pretty sure VAG doesn't do an 18 inch steel wheel and when I asked Skoda Australia about buying an alloy wheel to suit they quoted me $1000.00 .Ouch! so I tried second hand (who cares what a spare looks like) but it looks like in this country most wheels are either scrapped or sold in fours. So I'm now trawling buy and sell sites.
  2. With space saver fitted tyre pressures on TMPS could not be reset. Error message came up and icon on dashboard started to flash.
  3. Space saver fits easily into wheel well. Road tyre diameter is 40mm more than space saver.Any wonder TPS goes crazy. So if I use the space saver with a different size to the other tyres (a sort of a gray area down here)I might as well use a spare tyre with a decent width. Not to mention one that had a lot more range than the 80 odd Kilometres of a space saver. Get stuck in the bush with one of those things and you are stuffed.
  4. Tried to fit 225 40 18 inch wheel in spare wheel well. Might fit if I deflate it but who wants to be inflating tyres as well as changing tyres.Snow definitely not a problem in most of Australia. Whoops I meant 225 40 19 inch wheel
  5. Hi Guys, Any of you replaced the space saver with a full size spare wheel ? If so what size tyre and wheel combination did you choose to fit in the spare wheel well ? I assume it would have to be 18 inches to clear my 2022 VRS brakes. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
  6. I found silicone spray just OK. Squeaks came back quickly.Anyone used Krytox ?, would want to be a lot better than teflon spray for the money.
  7. I assume you mean the door pull ? It bugged me, my previous Octavia and my wife's Fabia's door pull were (and are) rock solid with no squeaks.I even tried packing the hollow parts of the door pulls with foam. Made a little bit of difference. Then I tried teflon spray on all the touching surfaces.Much better. Not perfect, but I can live with it.
  8. Hi all. Been driving various Euro manuals for fifty years (Renaults, Peugeots,Alfas, Skodas -even a Lancia) Loved them all. Then I needed a new estate.Guess what ? No manuals in Australia. I bought a Peugeot 508. Asin eight speed slushbox.Thought I would get used to it. No way, box was whiny and unintuitive. Steering was computer game light and feelless. Put up with it for two years and traded it in on a 2022 VRS. Bliss.I drive it exclusively in manual mode and with the DCC I can fine tune the suspension to just the way I like It. I would love a manual but down here car choices are limited.
  9. Hi all, My 2022 VRS has developed a vertical deadspot in the middle of the touchscreen.Anyone else had this ?
  10. Bought an OBD11 directly from OBD11.Resellers in Australia wanted hundreds more. Turned off fake engine noise and lane keeping. Worth every cent.
  11. Once in a while my car has a hissy fit, not unlocking upon approach.Always opens when I touch the handle. I try spare keys (with new batteries) and and they're often erratic. Also I've noted if you approach car with keys held with phone (or something large or metallic) car probably won't unlock. Weird
  12. I turned my lane assist off with OBD Eleven
  13. Dipping sequence works now, but still no left-right adjustment. Not the end of the world,I'm the only driver. But annoying.
  14. Yes, mirror seems to dip in reverse now, but doesn't return to upright position when moving forward, also mirror won't adjust in left right axis.
  15. Yeah, know that.Checked settings too.
  16. Hi guys. Found out today that my passenger door mirror has stopped dipping when in reverse. Also will only adjust up and down ,not in and out. Any ideas ?
  17. Interesting. My one is mostly OK. I've found out that if I approach the car holding my phone or anything dense/metallic right next to my key it probably won't open. Once in a blue moon it won't unlock upon approach or can I open the boot with the fob. Seems to be oK the next time I approach. Weird.
  18. Have had my RS since late 2022. Had a couple of very minor glitches with entertainment. But apart from that it's been rock solid.Australian cars don't (or didn't when bought mine) have SOS or internet connectivity apart from your phone.Seems like we might be lucky
  19. Whoops ,Sounds like somebody didn't do a PDI
  20. Hi Guys. For the last few weeks whenever I drive around and play music on my wireless connection I keep on getting soft beeps interupting the playback. Seemingly random. Using a Pixel 7 , and it does it on several different music playwers. Any ideas?
  21. I've own(ed) 2 Octavias, a 1.4 litre Mk3 wagon and Mk4 RS wagon. The first one was no trouble until I had it serviced by the local Skoda dealer. Talk about useless.Developed a miss which had several (supposed)disgnosises.Needs new software, has a broken spark plug, needs a new throttle pedal and best of all it needs a new clutch (for a miss!) Went to several specialists. Much money was spent and eventually a new engine was fitted by a Sydney dealer.Thank god Skoda paid for most of it. Talking to several mechanics the most likely cause was a spark plug was over torqued at service and debris fell into the bore. Don't know exactly and can't prove it anyway. 2nd one has been great. Couple of glitches with software but nothing like I read about cars in Europe and the UK. Our cars In Australia don't have internet connectivity or the SOS system. Probably lucky.
  22. Yeah, bought in a roll and cut to fit. Self adhesive.
  23. Simple, get OBDeleven and turn off the lane control (stupid fake engine noise too )
  24. I put some soundproofing in boot and under back seat. That and some P Zero Pirellis made a big difference.
  25. Have found Pennant Hills Skoda good.
