Headlights abroad 2015 Roomster
I have never bothered during the 10 years I have travelled to the continent. Even loaded I have never been flashed. I just put the headlamps on the lowest adjustment settings. Our French friends who visit the UK don''t bother either.

Bizare end for my trusty 2011 Roomster....
Although my Roomster is 2013 and only done 65k I am rather attracted to the Caddy Life. They are either 5 or seven seater. It would have been a good Roomster model replacement.

Dwindling Roomsters
I am hanging onto mine until Miliband deems it an environmental hazard. I did spot a VW Caddy Life version which looks a promising replacement if the Roomsters demise happened. As stated there is no replacement within Skoda or other makes.

Roomster - Replacement Battery
I replaced my battery a couple of years ago and no coding is required. I bought a battery from a local car spares which cost half of what skoda quoted and fitted it myself. No problems whatever since.

ODB device recommendations
Coincidently I was going to ask the same so if anyone has an OBD reader please offer recommendations.

How to keep our Roomster on the road
As a postscript, around 13 years ago an independent garage replaced 4 injectors in my petrol Fiat Multipla. I had to fork out £1200 and the mechanic questioned if it was worth doing it to an aging car. The pleasure and memories the Multipla gave for a further 3 years was well worth the outlay.

How to keep our Roomster on the road
I would run it as long as possible. I was thinking of buying a Scala but from the youtube videos the complexity of the infotainment and other electrical aids and engine bay looks a nightmare to drive and maintain. £700 may seem expensive but that would soon be swallowed up by depreciation if buying a replacement vehicle.

Dwindling Roomsters
I bought mine new in 2013 and it has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned with its original bulbs and only second battery. I have had no major expense. Just done 65k and years of life still left in the old girl. It gets pampered with a 3-monthly wax with Autoglym HD wax and still in showroom condition.

Dwindling Roomsters
I love my Roomster but they are dwindling in numbers. The manufacture was stopped around 2015 and that means 10 years have passed since new ones have been registered for the road. To drive a legacy product of which many have already faced end of life is a triumph and the advice given on the Roomster forum is invaluable to keep the remaining models going. Thank you

Muzzy
The stem which fits into the rocker box is barbed so pulling it out might be tricky but a spike could be used to prise it out. This is where opinions differ. Mine was broken after a dealer main service when the air filter was replaced but it was a few months after when I smelt fumes in the cabin. I took the car to an independent VAG dealer who was going to push the remnants of the old valve into the rocker box ' in situ' while pushing in the new. I baulked at that idea and took it to another independent who removed the necessary engine parts to gain access to the valve and they fished out the broken bits (so they said). Have a go and see if your valve pulls out with no hassle.

Check to see if the pcv valve is broken or pulled off where it goes into the rocker cover. When the technicians replace the air filter they lift the air filter cover and it puts leverage on the pipe which either pulls off the pcv valve or breaks it where it enters the rocker cover. Its dark at the moment but I will take pics in the daylight.

Front seat height
There is a lever to raise or lower the seat. The advantage with the Roomster is that you can slide into the seat without climbing up or lowering down.

Headlight deflectors
I have never bothered with them and travelled to France and other EU countries for 10 years. I have never been flashed or stopped by the police. Our French friends who visit us never bother either

False Alarms
I had the alarm go off in the middle of the night twice. I suspected a spider or insect in the sensor grill. Got a vacuum cleaner and sucked the grill and hey presto no false alarms since.

Clunk when turning steering wheel
Are you applying the brakes at the time of the clunk?

Dying Roomster - what to replace it with?
The other consideration is that will depreciation on a newer vehicle exceed the repair bills of the current vehicle. The choice is spend on repairs or lose on depreciation. At least you own the devil you know.

Dying Roomster - what to replace it with?
New or second hand? The latest Peugeot Partner is to be sold with a diesel engine due to demand.

Panoramic roof drainage
Does the panoramic roof have drainage channels or is it bonded in place rather like the windscreen? I have no mushrooms in the footwells or damp problems over the 10 years of ownership but I want to avoid future problems due to lack of maintenance.

Shall I return it? Failure to start and TSi scaremongering
Have got a 2013 86bhp 1.2 since new and done 61k. I have the revised chain tensioner but the chain occasionally makes itself vocal when tensioning on a cold start some mornings. It has been doing it for a number of years without catastrophic results. I have mentioned it when it is serviced but the dealer was not perturbed. If it happens every time then I will investigate it further. Never had problem with starting always first time. As for price good, clean examples hold their price. Yours is the more powerful version as my model is 86bhp as opposed to yours being 105bhp which would be worth more. Insurance company valued mine at £4500 replacement value last month.

New 24 Scala Ordered today
I would say it would be beautifully 'run-in' with a long hot run.
