  1. Sheees. Mine lasted from May '15 to mid-October '16 before I got the low-battery warning. Certainly some oddities here!
  2. Never seen mist in my Fabia headligths. Nor in the Seat, for the matter.
  3. There may be different tanks or at least charcoal filters mounted pending on regions. Ive tried the venting process only for the sake of doing it. Gave about 1 liter more capacity to fill. Not necessarily a good idea as fuel will expand at higher temps.
  4. Dont care much of the badges in se, but they are a PITA when cleaning and waxing. So, how did you debadge? They are probberly glued, was it just an easy peeling off or did you have to repair the laquer afterwards?
  5. A careful anti-corrosion treatment by a certified Tectyl-or-the-like-shop is never too late. Never mind the corrosion warranty.
  6. Also my since long time gone Octy was different, so as a Golf, a Toyota, a Passat and a few more from anno dazumal. These days means newer cars, lets say 2011 or later. Wont claim to KNOW, just supposing based on three different mnfg.
  7. Why taking hands of the wheel? A stretched finger will do. Seems to be pretty much standard these days, my former Mercedes worked the same way, so do the company Volvos and VWs.
  8. Theres a good chance, do remember that the wast majority of Skoda drivers do use the left door when leaving (or entering) the car.... :P
  9. Dont do that. Set the temparature at 4-5ºC below outside temp or you will catch a cold and eventually die.
  10. Well, you could move forwards and join Republic
  11. Its probably all there in the CPU, but youll need to change the handle to achieve the auto-setting. It shall hurt badly to upgrade what you didnt notice at time of purchase!
  12. Lemme guess - you havent got the auto-setting? If, set the handle in auto-mode and forget it. Well, you still have to change main and dipped manually. BTW, my sparsely equipped Seat, and as I remember from previously owned VAG- cars, the light goes out when the engine stop running, even if set in on-position. Parking-lights can be lit but not mains, which indicate that theres a relay missing in yours-or maybe all UK-models?
  13. Awww... A cycling thread aswell In it for every year of my life, well a few years missing at the start of it, but anyway. The stock is a Scott Sub 10 belt för commuting, a Trek something modified for winter cycling and nowadays a modest Rose SL2000 for the roads. Im doing about 6000 kms a year on the bikes, no races, just to keep up my physics. Will follow.
  14. The real problem is that Skoda doesnt offer HIDs or LEDs for the Fabia. Which would be better than all the bling available.
  15. I do not think you can have a high level build quality in a low priced mini. Usually you get what youre paying for. But I do have a cheap solution for you: Theres a lot of plastic in the interior which may creek rattle and crack, no wood and tin found. I havent had any objections on sounds from my Fab except from tire noise. Previous I had a Mercedes 220 cdi which procuced about the same level of noise in the cabin, despite the price of two Fabs.
  16. With that driving profile, have a look- or even better, a test drive -on the 90 hp 5 speed.
  17. It may work out fine, but do not go for the sports seats if in regular use. Also the "bad roads"-package could be worth thinking of, giving a slightly +15mm entry level step hight.
  18. Someone left a note!? That will be the day!
  19. Sports suspension means 15 mm lowered suspension and accordingly free hight underneath the car Got it on miy fab, never noticed it should be harsh in any way. 17" wheels probably means more tire noise.
  20. Well, Ive got the 1.0 in my Ibiza. But turbo charged its quite impressive, allthough not as powerful as the 110 Fab at lower revs but well suited to urban traffic.
  21. Impressing Also got an umbrella in my '15 Fab. In fact two or three last seen, put in the boot.
  22. Got the car back today. Seems to be a defective turbo boost regulator (? - I havent the slightest idea of the proper name in English - part # 04E198725C 2158 T040 KH1 for inquering minds). Free on guarantee.
  23. Im not really shure Joshua Brown would see it that way if still alive. Modern tech is splendid but never left unsupervised.
  24. That kind of gadgets in a Skoda Fabia? Hardly. Well everything is possible. Its not a confusion in terms? ACC is also used for describing the Climatronic. - but, http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/13/business/tesla-autopilot-fatal-crash-investigation.html?_r=0
