  1. Nope... 1.4 TSIAlso 30mpg is more common on more congested roads 40 is where I get clearer roads and green lights. I do like how the car keeps track of average consumption on Long term basis as well as since refuelling and since start (of journey). Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  2. One more sleep to go... Really? I bet you didn't actually sleep out of excitement! [emoji12] At least the mystery of MY16 spec, MIB2 & Smartlink got solved some time back otherwise you'd be not sleeping out of worry of what you're gonna get! All the best for the big day! 3. That's one seriously long waiting time! I think there should be a photo of you with *huge* grin posted before you post any pics of your new car! [emoji13] V.excited for you! I cant recall... Is this your first Octy? I got mine back in June. First Octy and so far mostly impressed and pleased. Only a couple of minor niggles that I can live with. Overall a very spacious, comfortable and easy car to drive. Most of all very relaxing to drive! Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  4. You get an on screen image of the car and visible indication of objects near the the car and at what distance. <rant> What I find annoying is that I additionally have rear view camera and the graphical parking sensor indicator covers part of the screen which shows you the view from the rear camera. No option to switch off the graphical view when reversing! </rant> Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  5. I get 30-40 in eco mode on busy London roads and approx 50mpg on the motorways. Had my car 2 months now. There is a debate whether eco mode truly helps get the mpg up. I'm happy with it... Attempting to drive eco style (which I'm used to from driving my father's Prius) and working with the slow throttle response makes me a much calmer driver. Sent from Tapatalk for Android I have DSG by the way. Not sure if that helps the MPG. Certainly helps me to drive more calmly (no more continuous gear changing in London traffic!!)
  6. I thought this was a photo of Front Assist in action! [emoji13] Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  7. For what it's worth I have a DSG and I find the stop start sometimes kicks in upon hitting the brakes slowly and once the car is only barely moving, but none the less moving. Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  8. You folks beat me to it! I saw an article on this in the Independent and was going to post in the same context. I suspect the combination of SmartGate and Park Assist enables this kind of hack to be carried out. Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  9. Applied the brakes quite late and avoided the crash, but felt that the system should have alerted me to avoid me being so late in braking. Some interesting reading (I assume the Octy has the same system as the Passat)... https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.activetest.eu/pdf/adac_aebs_report_en.pdf&ved=0CCkQFjAEahUKEwjC7OGUn-zGAhVEFj4KHeLnBjM&usg=AFQjCNGnWu9_lGjPDCq2j4_Kcj2todhfkQ&sig2=dGwU-epzDKx3efQUmjwCfA Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  10. People are not large and metallic but its supposedly designed to detect them... Unless you're talking about detecting walking robots [emoji12] .FYI, I'm finding front assist is a bit hit and miss. It's alerted me when there was no obvious danger and not alerted me when there was [emoji53]. ACC works a dream so I don't think the radar unit is faulty. Hence I put it down to dodgy software which isn't really immediately fixable by the service garage. I too would like to test it with some soft objects that the car can hit if it fails. A stack of large cardboard boxes perhaps? Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  11. There's a grille in the middle of the dash but I doubt there's a speaker behind it. Unless it's for alerts from the Nav? Do agree with Warkman, sound is reasonably good. Just don't change the treble, mid, base from default. Move anything off default and it sounds horrible! Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  12. @Maybach you mean you'll keep listening [emoji6] Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  13. Mine makes a noise when it's closed. Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  14. Wondering if any of the people on this thread are still active members or following the thread (getting notifications). I'm getting this issue on my new hatch. Keen to try Silicone spray, just not sure exactly where to spray it. Can anyone help? A photo pointing out where to spray would be good! Thanks in advance folks!
  15. @Chris29 Edit option only available for a limited time after you post. Same on the website I believe. Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  16. Chris29... Surely you mean Irfan nor Organ [emoji13] Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  17. @J1n20 seems you're quite local to me. I'm Wembley based and quite familiar with Over the Rainbow. I read at a few complaints about Unique hence looking to avoid them. Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  18. 5% is pretty much limo style blackout? That would be too dark for us and not sure it would go with the silver car. We're pondering 20% or 35%. Not looked at just how dark 20% is, but if its too dark we'll go with 35%.Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  19. @j1n20 hope you're better!I went and saw Eclipse. Nice folks! £120 to tint the Octy hatch rear windows with Solar Guard, which seems pretty reasonable. They advised they wouldn't need to take the doors apart to do the job. Turns out they also used to do chemical/wax based paint protection but stopped as their main business is windows and bodywork films and this is keeping their small workshop quite busy. They may pick up paint protection again in the future when they move to a larger premises. Thanks for the recommendation. Will prob go with these guys for tints. Still need to find someone to do the paint/interior protection and also decide which is a good product to go with. Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  20. That's my point... You would have thought the factory stocks specific tyres for specific models with specific wheel sizes not just some random selection. Also thought that the factory fitted tyres are carefully chosen (tested) to be the right balance between cost and ride/performance. Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  21. You got Pirellis on yours? I got Hankook! :-s How come everyone seems to get different tyres on their cars?! Or is yours Pirelli because yours is an estate? Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  22. Haven't managed to get Park Assist to work yet but prob not worth paying for. ACC is good to have. I drove with it on the motorway the other day. Personally I feel its one of those features where I feel "how did I ever manage without this". Not sure I would pay £300 to add it, but given a choice to switch it on/off, I would deffo have it on!Sent from Tapatalk for Android
  23. This problem arises because there is a 2 step ordering process where the dealer specs up the car "offline" outside of the factory ordering system and in this process only captures the extras you want to pay for. Freebies may get listed here *if* the dealer knows about them. Then some time later (hours to days) dealer will go and input the order into the Skoda ordering system and this is where the freebies (if any) get added, but of course they are not listed on your order contract as that is all done with already :-s My advice, if you think there is some offer running (freebies). Get the dealer to clarify it (check the ordering system) and include it in your contract/initial order. This is what I did with my order when ACC and PA appeared for free at end of March. 24. FYI, 3 spoke doesn't necessarily mean Supersport. Neither does 3 spoke entail flappy paddles which are an option. Pics in the brochure are a bit misleading :-s Sent from Tapatalk for Android
