1. I'm sure there's a preference setting where you can choose to have either Car heading 'up' or North 'up'. Your photo shows it is set to North 'up'
2. Further to Graham's comment earlier, I have always used Halford's batteries (though fitted myself) and have been happy with them, they have all lasted many years. I don't know exactly where you are located, but I notice that Halfords do offer a Mobile fitting service in the Chilterns area. Might be worth a call to them?
3. Was this before Brexit? 😈
4. I too am thinking of replacing my head unit with a later model, but does anyone know for how much longer VAG will provide map updates for the Admunsen 2?
5. Have you been using the same key to unlock the car each time? Different keys can be set for their own unlocking setting, one of which is (quote from the manual):
Opening a single door This selection function makes it possible to only unlock the driver's door. The other doors and the fuel filler flap remain locked and are only unlocked after being opened again.
6. Neither end of the ht coil secondary is connected to earth. When a spark is needed one end of the coil will be positive with respect to the other end (but completely isolated from car's earth) Both plugs will spark, because they are in series with one another. Bit more info here https://www.ngk.com/wasted-spark-ignition-systems
7. My understanding is that the HT coil secondary winding for a pair of cylinders is not 'earthed'. One end of the winding is connected to one plug, the other end to another plug, hence those two plugs will be working in opposite polarities.
8. Mine is quite loose; It is only held in place at the left and right ends, the right end appears to be held where a wiring harness goes through, but the left hand end seems to be wedged up abave the brake booster assembly. Yours being left-hand drive is different though.... yeti1.mp4
9. As the purchase was made in 2013 I guess the Consumer Rights Act (2015) won't apply, it would instead have fallen under the previous Sale of Goods Act - which wasn't as much help for the consumer?
10. I have on a few occasions over the years driven in fog thick enough that it was better to drive without headlights turned on (but of course with foglights on). Less so with the Yeti but with my previous cars the foglights were much lower so tended to shine under the fog, but having headlights on too created a whiteout in front of the car. Indeed there is provision for driving in poor visibility with only side and fog lights in the law. This is also I presume why car headlight switches (at least on all the cars I've ever driven) allow that permutation to be selected. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1989/1796/regulation/25/made
11. Have you tried changing the setting as described in the owner's handbook?

It looks a bit like one of the diesel heater connectors on this page? https://www.letonkinoisvarnish.co.uk/eberspacher_wiring_1.html
13. Looks like it applies to other VAG cars too..... https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=90246.0
14. One small point, the Sale of Goods Act has been superseded with the Consumer Rights Act (2015), which AFAIK gives the consumer better legal rights. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Rights_Act_2015
15. Under the 'Consumer Rights Act 2015' goods must be sold as 'fit for purpose' and last a reasonable time irrespective of any warranties given. Surely if you bought them knowing what car they were going to be fitted to they are legally obliged to give you a replacement/refund?

17. If you have a few minutes (or hours!) to spare you can browse through this long thread which has a few more useful tips and tricks!
18. I have read elsewhere of someone with a similar beeping every few minutes and it turned out that his dashcam couldn't write to the SD card (because it was corrupted or full - I don't know which)
19. When you state the fuse was 'burnt' or melted, do you mean it was simply blown, or was there visible signs of overheating?
20. I can imagine self driving cars of the future taking you 'home' to the wrong address.....
21. Although the speedometer now shows a more accurate speed, you may find that the odometer is now inaccurate. Odometers are normally pretty accurate as standard, but speedos normally err on the optimistic side for legal reasons.
22. Wasn't Carlston simply answering in VadimSK's own language, because VadimSK had obviously translated Carlston's English post to Russian in his reply?
23. This post shows how to retro fit a drawer. It shows the drawer 'carrier' as part of the kit. If your seat has the carrier, it should have the drawer!
