  1. Probably with the Ctek negative lead connected to the engine earth as per the handbook advice for jump leads?
  2. My understanding is that the battery negative terminal is not directly connected to Chassis on a Stop/Start Yeti - presumably it is connected via some electronic current monitoring wizardry. The procedure for using jump leads is mentioned in the handbook;
  3. Euro5 diesels (or lower) and petrol Euro3 (or lower) will be subject to additional charges to drive into London and some other UK cities later this year. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/driving-in-a-clean-air-zone
  4. Don't get too ambitious in trying to open them:
  5. I guess you could cut a disc of suitable thickness plywood and glue/screw it to the underside of the puck, it would then safely locate in the jack's saddle.
  6. It seems there was once a problem with balance shaft bearings on vag diesels - but on PD engines as used in Skodas made before the Yeti (that uses a CR engine) was born. https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/2-0tdi-oil-pump-balancer-shaft-problems-the-definitive-guide-audi-vw-skoda-seat.140949/
  7. Maybe running off Static Electricity
  8. Probably worth checking it actually fits your nuts (ooo-errr!) otherwise it makes all the other bits superfluous!
  9. Won't the AA (or whoever) change your spare for you anyway? If so you have the choice of using them if (for example) you're stuck on a Motorway or DIY if you're on a nice quiet road without the need to wait.
  10. My Yeti is set to annual fixed and I can check the oil temp in the maxidot?
  11. My MOT certificate (performed yesterday) includes on the back the results of the emissions test. It includes the time at which the test was done.
  12. Just to clarify: The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is NOT the diesel fuel filter, it is a filter that filters the soot out of the exhaust gases, and does not normally need any servicing.
  13. .. And as that RACT (Australian breakdown company) video shows, even professionals are getting it wrong!
  14. I suppose I was asking a rhetorical question; that recall clearly states it only applies to 1.2 and 1.6 engines....
  15. Is yours a petrol model? That recall only applies to the 1.2 TSI petrol (2wd) Yeti
  16. Looking at that rack on this video, it seems you may need a light board?
  17. You could rename Donna to Zonna 😁
  18. Do they mean low beam or low intensity? I didn't think there was a requirement to test the beam pattern?
  19. I have read elsewhere that apparently other Skoda models (maybe the Yeti too?) have a safety 'feature' that disables the throttle if the pedal is rapidly pressed down at the the same time as the brakes are operated? I guess if this is true, it is to help prevent inadvertent accelerating when you are trying to do an emergency stop. And I assume turning the engine off and back on resets it. I also read that having this feature means that you can't perform heel and toe braking. I presume it can be disabled within VCDS? This doesn't explain why the pedal went floppy, but it could simply be that having been disabled, it gave an odd feeling?
  20. Does the external bonnet catch have a cable? I'm thinking the OP is referring to the catch that you access when the bonnet has popped up?
  21. Wow! I'll just copy that link into my notebook, it might come in useful one day! 😂
  22. I wonder if this feature is there to protect the modern engine that has a risk of major damage if it is rotated backwards? EG, I have read of reports of Ford diesels (without the feature) that have suffered a timing chain jumping a tooth or two when inadvertently attempting to start in gear. Presumably the car lurches forward and bounces backwards slightly?
