  1. However, I need to remove the A pillar trim to run power to the illuminated switch and mood lighting but because of the curtain airbags I'm nervous to say the least. Question is does the curtain airbag come out from the top of the roof lining and down the a pillar or does it just drop down from the top of the roof lining? I think it's the later myself.... Cheers Des
  2. Makes the front-end look pretty aggressive. More and more people seem to be modding them now. Des
  3. Right I've confirmed myself that the 510 unit is visually identical to the MFD3. It has the same touchscreen technology but does not include the 30gb harddisc, SD slot or SatNAV. So it will be considerably cheaper to purchase. To give you a better idea to upgrade to this unit on the S model of the Tiguan will cost between £200/£300. Des
  4. I understand this is the same stereo as the MFD3 touch-screen but without the SatNAV. If they start introducing this stereo to the Octavia and new Superb it looks like it's going to be a nice upgrade to my current Dance (nice though it is) Des
  5. I had an OEM armrest on my Fabia. Trust me they are worth laying out the cash for. The quality and bracket are worth the extra money over the other retro-fit armrests. Des
  6. Question is has is made any difference? Well the usual diesel clatter is still there on start-up, so first impressions are not favorable. How about for general town driving? again no real difference, beginning to think I'd wasted my money here!! Here are the 'slim' plus-points. Motor-way journeys are slightly quieter but not by much, the same can be said for acceleration onto the motor-way. Lets just say the sound proofing takes the edge off of engine noise when cruising, and I do mean just! Still, it can be regarded as an improvement. Cheers Des
  7. I had the original Basslink in my old Fabia. See this post - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/ice-security-insurance/infinity-basslink/13362/ It definitely improves the overall sound (even with the standard headunit) and could really thump when it wanted to. However, I needed all the boot space I could get when my son was born so really had to take out the sub. Don't know how old your daughter is but if you need to carry around all the usual kid related paraphernalia then you may want to invest in a under seat sub or a compact sub blended into the rear wheel arch aperture. Cheers Des
  8. This is probably where the Roomster horn is sourced from Des
  9. I had this happen before but I did not put the stereo back in properly, causing it the foul the switches above. A quick release of the stereo, re-alignment and the switches were back to their normal selves. Cheers Des
  10. I'm thinking about investing in some for my Roomster. Forget the ones from the Skoda site, these are much cheaper. you can buy the whole kit delivered for approx £130 that covers, rear side windows, and quarter windows (Estate) and back window. Obviously hatchback versions will be cheaper. www.oesunshades.com Cheers Des
  11. They also fold like tin cans in an accident. I know where I'd rather be. Des
  12. The car feels much more open and coupled with the large rear side windows gives the rear passengers plenty to look at. My son who is only 13 months is always looking round at the world outside, at night he looks out the roof at the stars. I would not be without this feature and would quite easily forgoe my park sensors. Also I know cost comes in to it but dropping the armrest when it costs £70 would also be a massive loss. At the end of the day though you have to put your kids comfort first and it doesn't really matter what anyone elses opinion is. All I'm going to say is this is one option I would not be without. Des
  13. I don't own a Fabia mk2 so I'm not defending my own car! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but main thing that frustrated me was the 'polished turd' comment, a comment I have seen elsewhere on this and many other forums. On that note if you make a comment please make it your own. Also, I previously owned a Fabia VRs since Feb 2004, before most people realised what a damn good car it is, and I've had my own fair share of negative comments, but none from (I'm pleased to say) members of this forum. Des (Proud Skoda owner)
  14. Please please, do one thing. Go back to the dealership and order the glass roof, you will NOT be dissapointed. Des
  15. Glad I'm not the only one that does this Great colour by the way. For some reason I thought you were buying an auto... Des
  16. Derren Brown would be my choice but I reckon he would want more than £1500. We actually had Derren booked to perform at my wedding after the speeches but I cancelled at the last minute and spent the £3000 on a honeymoon instead. Boy am I kicking myself now, not that the honeymoon was rubbish or anything but try getting him to perform at your wedding for 3k now!! Des
  17. Nice constructive reply there, I'm getting really fed-up with all this polished turd nonsense. Why even look in the Fabia 2 forum if you don't like them? On a positive note; Think the wheels and the strips look great, what about using the colour of the stripes and get the entire roof done. The best Fabia 2 I've seen. Des
  18. An mfd 1 will not fit, however 2 and 3 will be fine. Des
  19. Let me get this right, you have a; Comfort Fabia Classic Seats Elegance Trim VRS Engine/gearbox/dashpod, mats, and gearknob Good going there think you have the entire range covered in one car.... Des
  20. I'm positive the original hoses are braided anyway, I have been told many times that upgrading the hoses are pointless. Des
  21. I have had 3 1.9tdi's now the 100, 130, and now the 105bhp version. All have had excellent economy figures and you do not need to thrash them to make rapid progress, think the 1.4 is a too smaller engine for the Roomster. If tuning comes into it you can extract much more power from the 1.9. Des
  22. That'll be me the third headrest is a must really given it is only £45 here, although you can retro fit quite easily. The rear seats have plenty of adjustment so squeezing everyone in will not be an issue. Des
