  1. I had what appeared to be a stone chip on one of the spokes my Pegasus wheels, I used the clear touch up lacquer as well, just to seal it from the elements.
  2. I agree with you, his posts are relentless, same old cr-p, this has become an obsession for him, I don't bother to look at his posts, if I where him I would just sell the car and move on, but as you say he will not be happy with anything he purchased.
  3. I park my Superb in the garage, I never apply the electronic handbrake, just put the DSG in park, switch off the ignition and withdraw the key, handbrake remains off even when opening the driver door. I have always done this with my previous Autos, no need to apply the handbrake in the garage on level ground, just my personal preference.
  4. I cannot get it to work on my October 2015 Superb SE L Ex Columbus either, tried everything but no luck.
  5. Good on you, love the Fireblades but i can't do head down any longer, but you keep going for as long as you can and enjoy.
  6. Like you I have had bikes since I was 16 years old, only time when I was without a bike is when we had kids, so could not afford to have a car and bike, but you are never to old to ride, I love the freedom of a bike, and with the little CRF I've found a few nice little green lanes to potter down, but I'm already drooling over a second bike, Yamaha MT10, which basically has the R1 detuned engine in a sit up beg frame, I have not told her in doors though.
  7. The FJR1300 is a big lump of a bike, the R1 was bloody heavy as well, if I ever had dropped it, there was no way I could pick it up on my own, the little CRF is manageable and i love riding around the country lanes of Hampshire. But as they say, once a biker, always a biker, keep an open mind on that one.
  8. No, don't give up on motorcycling, I've just turned 60 but I refuse to give up on my bikes, in April 2016 i sold my beloved Yamaha R1 Super sports, this was for serious reasons, the riding position played hell with my wrists as its head down and ass up, the risk of losing my licence due to its insane speed, it would hit over 100 mph in first gear, and the high possibility I was going to die. So my solution was to move down to something more manageable and comfortable, so I brought a little Honda CRF250L, and I love it.
  9. I tried this app last night on my Oct 2015 SE L EXC, as you say I can log on to my Skoda account but it will not connect to the car via Smartgate of via USB Apple play.
  10. Thanks BillyJim, That's answered my question, so basically you would have to replace your current unit with the latest one, now that won't be cheap, or of course order another new car.
  11. Hi all, Just a quick question, as many will know, Skoda Connect is available on some new Skoda Models, I assume that this is just an software upgrade, can our Columbus units updated to have this option.
  12. I have the Superb Hatch SE L EXEC in Candy White with Silver Pegasus Wheel, I know its not the Estate but it may help to give you an idea.
  13. Both my Company Octavia and my own Superb act in exactly the same way, in fact on long down hill runs I put the DSG into sport mode for additional engine breaking, I am very pleased with both my cars with DSG, I do find my Superb DSG box a bit smother than the Octavia for some reason.
  14. Hi, yes it is the Drive App, which is good when it works but as with all the Skoda Apps they seem to be very intermittent in operation.
  15. My SE L Exec Hatch 2.0 TDI 150 DSG produced mid September 2015, Road Tax was £30 last October. Having check the Superb literature for the estate I thought that the tax was the same for the hatch, my apologies it obviously is not, 2.0 TDI 150PS DSG 122 D.
  16. I have SmartGate on my SEL Exec, and I have the same issue, I have an iPhone 6+ and have to manually connect every time i get in the car which is a pain, but I have had success with the data automatically downloading to my iMac when it works. Could be a really good App if Skoda / VW could sort these issues out, I have not persevered with trying to get a resolution to this, not sure if others have the same issue as us.
  17. I don't have Adblue on my 2.0TDI Octavia or my Superb my friend, and we are all entitled to our opinions, so you are free to put out your point of view, but there are evils with both Diesel and Petrol engines emissions as we all know. I love the concept of a pure electrically driven vehicle, instant torque from the electric motor etc, smooth, quiet, but we need it to have at least a 200 to 300 mile range, until this is achievable we are stuck with the internal combustion engine, lets hope that battery technology progresses at lightning speed, that will be better for all of us.
  18. This is normal and involves the regeneration of the Diesel Particulate Filter DPF, follow this link for more information. My new diesel smells like burning rubberand /or thefan stays on after engine is turned off Sorry, just spotted that you have seen the link.
  19. Diesels cars will be around for a while yet, still a good all round vehicle and diesel returns far better fuel consumption than a petrol, agree with the other posts, electric vehicles have a long way to go before they can match the range of either diesel or petrol. Dont get me wrong, have no issues with petrol and if they could give the same level of MPG as a diesel i would consider one, both my company 2.0 TDi Octavia and my 2.0 TDI Superb have been excellent, people say that diesels sound like a tractor, I would disagree with that, both of my Diesels are quiet even just idling at tick over, job to tell the difference. As for diesels bans within city centres, well for me thats not an issue, I cannot remember the last time I drove into the centre of town, car parks are often overflowing or there are no spaces available, and to be honest parking in a city centre is just asking for some **** to ding your car, not for me I'm afraid. When we are on holiday we have found that most major cities and some smaller towns operate Park & Ride, this has been a god send, parking is far more civilised and the spaces between vehicles much better so less chance of vehicle damage. As for the environment, well i don't see the diesel as a major issue, I'm sure that North Korea and the Russians will soon destroy the planet long before a Diesel engine can cause any significant damage. So would I buy another Diesel, hell yea !!!!!!!!
  20. Works exactly the same on my Company Octavia as it does my Superb, as others have said you can manually cancel it, but hit si how it is supposed to work.
  21. Yes my car is 100% Candy White, as shown on my invoice for the car and when it was in the dealers for warranty work I asked them to supply me with touch up paint, they referenced the Vin No to confirm, touch up paint is Candy White and matches perfectly.
  22. All, Just out of interest whilst looking into rear brake disc wear I took a look at some 7 series BMW for sale and spotted a picture of a 7 series with only 5600 miles on the clock, in essence we are not alone with rear disc issues.
  23. Really sorry to here that some mindless moron has damaged your car. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a safe place, like you I park as far away from the mindless masses as I can, but some **** will still come and park right next to you even though the car park is empty. I love driving and my cars, I look after them because for most of us they are a huge investment, I also tend to keep my car long term, but there are some real ass---les out here who just don't care. Not sure my nerves can take another new car purchase, I'm afraid worrying about the car being damaged takes the joy out of a new car for me these days.
