Skoda have updated the configurator And on list of models, Karoq is showing only from stock ! https://cc.skoda-auto.com/gbr/en-GB/ It is obviously current as has Fabia mk3 also from stock

If your order is not yet locked in (no longer amendable as production line slot is allocated and pending), then should be able to change colour (and possibly options) Speak to your dealer, and get any changes confirmed in writing. Almost certainty getting 2022 spec, so might be worth asking for copy of order as sometimes other things may have been changed as well.

What tyres did you get?
The covers replace the clip in, star shaped centre covers that cover the wheel nuts. If you look at the photos that @CS363 posted above, you will see there is the large central ring that looks like it fits in same place. I assume if you don’t have a star type centre cover, but instead just have the fixed Skoda logo, and individual wheel nut covers, then they won’t fit. I am guessing that vela wheels normally have the star shaped combined wheel nut and centre, and these are an alternative to give different look. Completely different to the vega aero which is part of wheel.

There seems to be a combination of things. Apparently car usage is back to pre-Covid levels (even if tube in London is only at 50% weekdays / 60% weekends) so car demand must be about normal. New cars are severely rationed (actually can place orders, but probably won’t get it until 2022). Nearly new cars are sparse, wasn’t very many hire fleets etc buying new cars 6-17 months ago. Some dealerships didn’t even change their demonstrators as lockdowns prevented using them. Leases have expired, and with lack of new cars or lockdowns many have been extended, so older 2-4 year old cars aren’t hitting market at normal volumes. Similarly PCPs, in recent months the jump in used prices means handing a car back at end of PCP is daft (if car can be sold privately for £14k, and balloon payment is £10k, why would you hand it back when have £4K in equity keeping it), and probably not likely to trade it in until can get a replacement delivered. Then there are those who change cars more occasionally, when it gets to certain age or mileage, with lockdowns many have decided to wait another year, so they are coming back to buy a new car at time of lack of supply, 2021 instead of 2020, further increasing new car waiting times. So got normal levels of demand, but lack of supply so basic economics says prices will rise. How long will it last, looking like at least 2022, and probably be 2023 before lots of nearly new cars are flooding market pushing prices down.

What tyres did you get?
I’m finding opposite the Pirelli P7s, they don’t seem to wear. A 2018 car we have has done 28k miles (probably about 19k on P7s, rest on winter tyres) and still have over 5mm tread on all 4 Pirelli tyres, suggests they will do at least 45k miles

Kick when going in reverse
Sticky or worn brake pad. Difficult to explain, but what sometimes seems to happen is the brake pad can move slightly in the calliper, they are not fixed solid so as to allow movement as pad wears, but are held in place by tabs and pins. When you start to reverse you rotate the wheel marginally wedging the pad against the frame in other direction, and because that direction is not used as much tends to get more gunk and rust. It then releases more abruptly causing the jerk at start of reversing. You might be able to clear it by finding some open ground and doing a couple of emergency stops in reverse. Otherwise it is a case of getting brakes checked for free movement.

Parts interchangability between Kushaq (India) and Kamiq
The Kamiq did have a diesel option, but was dropped. A few may have lingered on in showrooms. The whole VW group has dropped diesels on smaller and mid size cars, VW abandoned its development of a replacement for the 1.6 Diesel engine, but continue to sell the old design in low power versions of bigger cars and SUVs

SEL-Exec Combi tdi 4x4 … not happy with 19” wheels!!!
40 profile is great for flat showroom surfaces, and billiard table smooth roads, but absolutely useless on many country roads with rutted, cracked and badly patched tarmac. Even DCC cannot mask the surface where there are multiple changes in surface within contact patch length of tyre. The correct 17 inch tyres for 190 TDI are 215/55 ZR17 94W on 7Jx17 ET40 rims The Goodyear vector 4season Gen 3 will have a higher load rating of 98, but thats not such a bad thing with the combi version. Should be from about £115 per tyre.

Superb - approaching first service
It also makes a big difference after 3 years, when out of warranty If something goes wrong and out of warranty then will struggle for a goodwill contribution if not serviced by Skoda. Also they now sometimes add things eg years breakdown cover if you get it serviced by Skoda after 3 years (and there is a new life care package which tends to be better value), but ultimately comes down to the dealer. Sadly most of the small dealers with very experienced staff are no longer around, but some still do Skoda servicing, if you have one you trust then it is a cost vs convenience vs quality debate.

Brake wear on 2020 Fabia wagon
In many cases you can roughly see them through gaps in alloy wheels, and if you can see more than a few mm of pad then long way from needing changing. One dealer at 2 year service told me my front pads were 80% worn, different dealer at 3 year service told me 60% worn, so either my pads grew back 20% over 12 months or someone was lying. But on serious note, mileage is poor indicator of brake pad wear, someone living in a city with traffic lights every quarter mile, or in very hilly area will use brakes a lot, a motorway driver might only use brakes 2 or 3 times in 50 miles.

What tyres did you get?
Bridgestone Turanza T005, Michelin Primacy 4, Continental EcoContact 6 All summer touring tyres, economical and long wearing, rather than sporty. All optimised for good mileage in warmer weather None suitable for colder weather, cold rain, sleet, snow, frost, muddy autumn field run off, damp leaves, icy patches etc. The funniest choice is the Goodyear Eagle F1 super sport in Scotland (described by Goodyear as “a race inspired tyre for superior grip and handling on dry roads”) as of course it never rains in Scotland ! https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consumer/tires/eagle_f1_supersport.EAGF1SUPSP.html

Electric motors have very high torque so require special strengthened tyres Non standard and expensive The standard (Summer) tyres on 80 and 80X are front 235/50 R20 100T/EU rear 255/45 R20 101T/EU The optional 21 inch front 235/45 R21 100T/EU rear 255/40 R21 102T/EU T rating is 118mph and with seal inside, expect to pay about £250-300 per tyre

I think you have used the wrong terminology and confused people. A disclaimer is a statement that denies something, especially responsibility. You do not need a disclaimer from an estimated date as it is just an estimate not a guaranteed date. A non-cancellation clause is not a disclaimer. It sounds like you have signed a contract for purchase and exchange, where you exchange your current vehicle for new one (plus a specific amount of money), and have involved a third party (a finance company) so the whole transaction has included a non-cancellation clause which you have agreed to. You have agreed to same cash differential regardless of the handover date. So basically you now cannot exchange your car anywhere else, and have agreed to wait, and thus if Skoda choose to finish other cars first and you have to wait until sometime in 2022, or even 2023 you have accepted it. You may like the transaction (which is presumably why you agreed to it), but personally I wouldn’t be keen on a transaction with no back stop date, as it means you cannot get out of it even if another dealer has car available sooner at a cheaper price. A back stop date (sometimes known as a sunset clause) could have been something like if car still not delivered after 9 months you have option to void (cancel) the contract with no penalty.

Not specific to Kodiaq (apologies) - but dealership insurance excess to test drive a car.
I had it when I had car serviced (pre Covid), courtesy car was £12 insurance or £500 excess. But it was explained that it was if I caused any damage. Not if someone else caused the accident (then no excess payable) The justification was that they had a few bad drivers doing test drives and over one car a month was being damaged so dealership insurance cost had gone up hugely. I can see it both ways though, if you are offered a £1000 excess, or every new car will get £50 less discount, to cover increased insurance premium (and ultimately it has to be paid for so really a case of do you want it hidden or not). Of course if you choose not to do a test drive, or don’t crash it, then it’s free

Depends on model spec and age Some can be done in infotainment (in car settings) Some LED ones don’t need adjusting Some older ones need stickers

Driving modes?? Mk4 Octavia
It is more of a gimmick, and as car resets to normal on each start up, probably won’t play with it much even if it is fitted Basically S sport mode can be engaged by flicking gear stick back, and again to toggle back to D. For most people that is all they need E economy mode just seems to allow more coasting when going down hill, or slowing (but steep downhills still cause gears to change down). I think it also restricts the climate control to save tiny bit of fuel. ACC is affected (the acceleration rate when gap opens up) If you have DCC adjustable dampers it also sets these, but if you don’t then functionality is rather limited Individual allows you to set them differently if you really want them, such as soft dampers and sporty gear changes. I think some 4wd versions may have an off road mode and snow mode, not sure what they do, but probably some form of using the ABS to control slip.

I agree that delays will be with us for long time, but I too get upset when dealers refuse to be honest by pretending that something is on time rather than telling a customer straight that it could be many months. There is a balance between keeping an order, vs a very unhappy customer because they could have cancelled and got something else promptly if truth had been properly explained

The German configurator now has new Fabia Starts at €16,290 (£13,971) for Active trim But if you add (lots of) options to top spec Style with DSG then increase price to €30,000 (£25,730) German site only has 3 spec levels: active, ambition, style. OK - I reckon I am in for another Kodiaq - Likely Sportline - but diesel again or a switch to petrol?
My suggestion is if you are going to take a 1.5tsi for test drive, then why not arrange to also do a back to back drive in an Enyaq You will be driving your diesel version there, so effectively will be able to compare diesel vs petrol vs electric in quick succession If you are going to be spending £30,000 - 39,999 at least you will be informed about your preference.

Superb Mk3 - What tyres are you all using?
What brand would your dealer fit if you ask for all season tyres, instead of their new budget summer tyres. But it might be worth a conversation along the lines of if you order them, get them sent to the garage, they fit them instead of the summer budget crap, they can keep their new budget tyres for say a £50-60 per tyre reduction in price to use on another car. If they agree saves you the hassle of disposing of them, as you intend to change them anyway, and might save some money. Don’t know if they will agree, but as old saying goes, if you don’t ask, will never get.

I see why they have called the video All grown up Apparently is 11cm longer than mk3 at 4.1m No longer a small city car that fits tight parking spaces, more a smaller Scala or Octavia. I do wonder if Skoda is competing with some of its own models rather than taking on the small hatchback market. But with all the extra equipment (and presumably lots of options), even the one in photo appears to have headlight washers and front and side parking sensors (blind spot and/or auto parking), could be quite a lot of money. Be interesting to see how it is priced, and spec’d, but you would wonder if anyone will pay £20-25k for a Fabia. Especially as you can get an electric car for not much more.

It is also noticeable how much extra dayglo seems to be used in UK. Delivery times?
So how does that work then, they presumably still have to buy the car ex factory price, then sell it, and presumably selling it used is a lower price than selling new, which would usually mean less profit. I am struggling to see why selling 4 cars that are 3 months old can be more profitable than selling 4 cars that are almost 3 minutes old. What is the name, or section number of this mythical tax break, of which you suggest.

Just been in touch with a friend, and when he pushed was told a factory order maybe March, suggests those being told 31 December are just being given last day of year to avoid quoting realistic 2022 date Apparently negligible unallocated ones for quick delivery, and not many for 1-5 weeks delivery Some dealers might have something they ordered for own stock / demonstrators / staff use, which they might sell you if you specifically ask. Although some will put themselves ahead of a customer so won’t let you have them.
