Which engine?
The latest versions are to new euro 6e emissions standards, so come with a lot of additional emissions equipment (which is new, their long term reliability unknown, and potentially costly to repair). So wouldn't use reliability of a more basic diesel (with lot simpler emissions equipment) from few years ago as reliable guide. With diesel now about 4-5p per litre more in summer (and often 10-15p in winter as it is similar to heating oil) and the tsi only being about 10% less efficient in real world tests, rather makes it hard to justify £2k extra purchase list price of the diesel. Probably why only 4 Skoda models still have diesels available

Fabia Edition specs launched
Waiting for them to upload the brochures, to compare to attached current ones, just in case Skoda are being sneaky, saying what they are adding, but quietly dropping other features https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/775d73bc-eb9d-4a50-911e-863d73b99333 Some of the extras specs being added are currently part of (fairly expensive) optional packages. Personally I could live without some features, so might now be able to add options to lower spec to get ideal car. .

Karoq Towing Weights ...confusion
Skoda quote 1428kg with driver for basic car with no options (1.5 manual SEL) to 1621kg Can easily add up another 150kg with multiple options. Even if you used a (very) rough rule of thumb of 15kg each for things like motorised seats, glass roof, and motorised boot, then a few kg each adding larger wheels & tyres, spare wheel, tow hook, etc then could easily be near 1500kg. Not much point in looking up the basic weight with no driver and empty fuel tank, rather than the operating weight. The table of weights is in Technical section towards end of brochure, but it quotes a range (as it depends on options) so look at vin plate https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/c63f4efb-a760-4a48-931f-baad88d42aa6 For 1.5tsi manual SEL gives max towing weight as 1500kg (12% gradient) or 1700kg (8% gradient) or 700kg unbraked

Kodiaq iv (2024) - Slow Home Charging Speeds
Have you been able to charge another vehicle at 7kw/h from same wallbox. Just because the wallbox is rated at 7kw doesn't guarantee that it has been configured that way, it might have been set up lower if you have lots of other big power fuses, say 6kw hob, electric ovens, electric water heating, air conditioner, all wired onto fairly old weaker cables to the house. Check the master fuse (the electricity Boards one next to meter, before cables reach fuse box). It will have a seal so can't remove it, but see what it's rating is (embossed on its case), might be lot less than modern 100amps. If your house has older weaker supply, they might have configured your charger to max out at lower rating so that you don't create an overload when other things turned on.

How long do your tyres last?
Sounds like you should have swapped them to the back when fronts down to about 4.5mm tread. But P7s (and many Eco biased summer tyres) can slip in wet when below about +12c (nearer +5c in dry), and of course in UK rain is usually below this temperature from September to early May.
-
How long do your tyres last?
Normally they do last longer, because in UK we have roundabouts, and left handed junctions are generally tighter lines than turning right. Therefore it is normal to find left front wears most and right rear wears least. So if you switch around tyres (and they are not directional like P7s), then can get good mileage. On my car (over 65k miles and 6 years old, which is about 35k miles on summer P7s, other 30k on winter tyres), Each spring the least worn goes on front left, the most worn back right and my factory P7s all still have 3.5-4mm of tread, so are comfortably heading towards 50k miles. If Op thinks replacing 2 tyres every 20k miles is better than replacing 4 every 50k miles then I disagree. .

Based on list price at date of registration, not the date of the order. So if the list price increases before registration, VED will be based on the new price.

2024 Lead/Delivery Time
In the past the Kodiaq was sharing production line at Kvasinsy with higher volume Superb and others. As part of introduction of mk4 Superb, Skoda moved Superb production to Bratislava (the VW factory), so the Kvasinsy plant is concentrating on Kodiaq, Karoq and Octavia production. Octavia continue to be built at Mladá Boleslav too. With the aging Karoq due to be phased out soon (the similar size Elroq is about to be launched) presumably the factory will no longer have the big post covid era production backlog and delays.

Superb mk4 Sportline launched
Superb joins the Sportline family The car also has an array of top-level accessories and equipment elements typical for Sportline. These include LED Matrix front headlights, progressive steering, a sports chassis, which is 15 millimetres lower in the case of the Superb Sportline, and sports wheels. A DCC Sport chassis is also available as an option. With the Superb Sportline, customers are again given a choice: either the standard 18-inch anthracite polished Vela wheels with matt aerodynamic covers, or the optional 19-inch Aniara wheels in a combination of silver-coloured rims and black covers and 19-inch Torcular wheels in a black design. The classic black details like the radiator grille frame, window surrounds, exterior mirror caps, black Škoda lettering on the rear, Sportline logos and other details are complemented here by a specifically shaped front bumper and blacked-out rear windows in SunSet design. All these features emphasise the car’s sporty character. The Sportline trim is available for both the Superb Combi and the hatchback version, and for any powertrain. https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/sportline-models-dynamic-elegance-for-every-day/

cambelts
Yes, interval was changed in July 2023 now estimated at 12-15 years and about 180,000 miles. They have added inspection of belt for wear at main service, presumably should be advised if it looks like wearing and needs changing (although how well this will actually work in practice is anyone's guess). .

Tyre quandary
There are a number of different Karoq wheels, from 16 inch to 19 inch, this brochure has the pictures, part numbers, and states tyre sizes for both 2wd and 4x4. The 4x4 has raised height and thus bigger tyres. https://www.skoda-auto.com/_doc/6d5c59b3-5d97-451a-ab78-2ef185e6e373

What tyre brand/model did your Fabia came with
Bad advice as it ignores the recent change in tyre formulation, so just because they worked in past years doesn't mean it will be ok now. A few years ago would have got General summer tyre optimised for lower temperature range. Factory now fits Eco biased summer tyres optimised for WLTP tests (which are done at around +22c). In UK average temperature (same as in a cave is nearer 12c). Rain in UK is typically cold and below 10c for about 9 months of the year. Eco biased summer tyres usually have wet grip that falls off rapidly below about +12c and is often poor or dangerous below about +5c. That is why people can often spin wheels pulling out of junctions on damp mornings even with 1 litre engines. Yes driving in UK with old school normal summer tyres was ok, but using Eco summer tyres in cooler months is just bad idea if don't want to skid into a wall, cyclist or pedestrian.

VRS prices apparently released
14 days is from when you go in to dealership, or online, to sign finance paperwork, just before collecting / home delivery. Not when the order is placed

VRS prices apparently released
Adding that up gives £37,824 seems to be lots of smoke and mirrors to get to that notional £32407 if then have to add on £5.5k to get back to what you are going to pay. Only a good deal if you pay off the balance during the first 14 days and only £32.4k leaves your bank account.

MK4 Octavia VRS TDI - Any info?
Per the latest brochure (link previous post), the latest Octavia have engines to euro 6e standard, that is new tougher standard, so they will have lots of fancy sensitive emissions equipment bolted to the engine. How reliable that will turn out to be especially if you do lots of short journeys is anyone's guess. Towards the end of the brochure is the technical stuff, and using SEL or Sportline it looks like diesel WLTP only improves mpg by about 12% over the 1.5tsi. If you factor in diesel tends to be more expensive (usually 2-3% in summer or 6-9% in winter as similar to heating oil), and the fact the diesel costs £1500 more, then have to question is the diesel with its new complicated emissions equipment sensible choice. My view is extra equipment is just something else that could potentially be problematic. It says the DSG is 7speed, and with the torque of diesel likely to be DQ381 or whatever latest incarnation is called
