Recommendations for independent garage in Bristol area for service, MOT and disc brake change.
Not independent, but took my Seat to the Dealer (Holders) in Congresbury and they were very good.

What's your thoughts
@Bertie90 based on your user profile of having a 17 year old Skoda at point of changing the car, then if you are going to keep the car to 17 years old, the potential maintenance costs of an L&K PHEV could be huge. Whilst the Superb mark 3 is a very solid car (in basic form). There are lots of motors, sensors and gizmos on this spec that could potentially be a money pit in a decades time if any go wrong.

Spare Wheel (again)
Don't forget the Kamiq and Scala have sisters in Seat Arona and VW T-cross and Taigo. Found following on a Seat Arona forum The spare wheel is normally 205/60 R16 on steel rim The Arona is 5 bolt 100mm diameter bolt spacing with centre 57.1mm I ordered the spare with the car, but only about 2-3mm clearance all around tyre in the well, not sure why they didn't make it about 10mm diameter bigger. A worn tyre will have about 5mm less tread (10mm diameter smaller) so might fit 205/60 R16 (spare) has diameter of 652.4mm 205/55 R17 (17 inch wheels) diameter 657.3mm 215/45 R18 (X Lux & FR sport) diameter of 650.7mm So looks like the 18 inch wheels are marginally smaller than the factory spare, but 17 inch wheels with full tread are going to be harder to get in the wheel well.

What wheels are these?
Can't spot them, in Skoda wheels catalogue, either they are old discontinued type, or another make with new wheel centre caps https://www.skoda-auto.com/_doc/6d5c59b3-5d97-451a-ab78-2ef185e6e373

Skoda fabia mk4 first year service
Engine flush is pointless, going to be about as useful as getting the air in the tyres changed to nice fresh air. Actually if you want bit of fun, when you drop the car off, ask the the tyre pressures to be set halfway between normal and eco. They might actually check the tyres if you do.

Diesel in oil
The confusion seems to be over euro 6 (from 2015), euro 6d temp (from 2019) and euro 6d (from 2021). The earlier versions allowed more leeway and were easier to meet the emission standard. The 2021 standard has smaller error margins and is based on real world (RDE) motoring, not a lab test. So just because earlier versions tolerated a certain level of emissions, the latest ones throw a wobbly if it exceeds the higher standards. That is why those who say my older diesel was ok, are not explaining the regime of a 2023 car to the euro 6d RDE spec. There are now 5 conditions, and tight margins carbon monoxide, CO: 0.50g/km Hydrocarbons and Nitrogen oxides HC + NOx: 0.17g/km NOx: 0.08g/km Particulate matter, PM: 0.005g/km Particulate number, PN [#/km]: 6.0x10 ^11/km In 13.5 months (1st July 2025) euro7 comes in, so expect engines to be switched to tougher standards in few months time. The NOx drops to max 0.06

Diesel in oil
Were your previous diesels to euro6d emissions spec, or earlier specs. Just because they had some form of DPF doesn't mean they have the same ones, or a much less tolerant emissions system. Basically your new one is doing too many short journeys, can't get to the higher emissions spec without longer or more frequent DPF regens (which it is failing to complete) so the excess diesel from the incomplete regen has stayed in and ended up in the oil. In simple terms if you do lots of short journeys, then to maintain the DPF to latest emissions standards need to be doing journeys of 20+ minutes once engine is thoroughly warmed through (so nearer 50 minutes, even if older emissions specs were nearer 30 mins to allow for DPF regen). The actual time depends on engine load and ambient temperature.

Variable Servicing - Are 2023 Scala oil servicing set to this by default?!
Seems unusual to get oil change at 15 months when below the mileage limit. @Ootohere is usually the expert commentator about fixed or variable, so might be able to explain the 15 months for low mileage option.

Servicing - Definitive Answers
@Dranny Generally with a lease car you can hand it back few days early and avoid having to do the service. The lease rules normally say it can be showing a service countdown advance warning reminder (due in X days or Y miles), but not Service now or Service. The basis is must be serviced when due, if not yet due then don't have to have done a service prior to handback.

Inside wear on one front tyre
If the tyre is already worn, changing alignment and tracking should fix further uneven wear, but won't obviously sort the unevenly worn tyre. I don't know how badly worn it is, but consider getting the wheels swapped around. I would definitely get the car properly realigned on a Hunter type rig, although if some work to realign has already been done, might already be not as bad (or perhaps worse if they messed it up further)

What tyre brand/model did your Fabia came with
It should be noted that the factory fits summer (seasonal) tyres that are Eco biased, so the car saves a smidge of fuel on warm days at test temperatures (which the mpg and emissions is based on). Unfortunately for those in UK, these tyres tend to get fairly hard on colder days, and grip in wet falls off rapidly below about +10c. But UK rain tends to be cold and below 10c for about 8 months a year. So you will find they are poor to useless in colder months. Grip could be so low might even spin the wheels pulling rapidly out of a side turning on colder days. So if want to get a set of winter wheels on separate rims here is the brochure (and if you remember that front left always wears fastest due to roundabouts, and switch the wheels around when go back on) should be able to get 30-50k miles from each set of tyres. What's more good chance will avoid cracking. One final point, euro winter wheels are generally designed to be good to +15c (not just near freezing) Don't confuse them with snow and cold weather tyres (often called Nordic winter tyres) https://www.skoda-auto.com/_doc/6d5c59b3-5d97-451a-ab78-2ef185e6e373

18" Octavia MK2 VRS wheels on MK3 not VRS car
I would halve that, and sometime around 12-14k miles, get them switched front-back to even out wear. Generally in UK front left wears fastest (due to roundabouts) and rear right the slowest. As long as you have a spare easy job at home, swapping them in sequence (don't bother to fully tighten the bolts or put the locking lug bolt on the spare, as will come off before you drive it)
