  1. There are a couple of accessories, the elasticated net. Instead of using it flat, hooked across boot, hook it round in one corner or car to keep lock in corner of boot floor. There are various sizes, can get them for about £8-15 There is also an aluminium bar that slots into a type of Fabia boot liner, which would stop it sliding, illustrated in accessories catalogue https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/be649f0e-f3fd-4159-b58c-6da2bfb329e3
  2. Sorry, if it came across wrong. Skoda has a habit of highlighting changes selectively, but that is what PR departments are paid for, highlight the good, keep quiet on anything negative (which are rather more frequent)
  3. The 5th February 2024 brochure shows vRS TDI as only available from stock (along with 1.5 e-tec) engine in other specs https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/0bcfc2d5-654f-49b2-a524-91e141293e36 So 6 week old news that it is no longer available to order
  4. So you want to put a bottle in the cup holder, instead of a cup Isn't there are bottle holder in the door pocket ?
  5. Seems to be a dumb UK idea In Germany can have a 1.5mhev L&K, it's €49,860 (£42,573) for estate
  6. My gut feeling is that haven't tooled up the production line for 2 litre petrol engines yet, or have some sort of capacity crunch. They might not really want to sell many because of emissions limits rules. From memory euro7 comes in for sales 1st July 2025, which means production lines need to be building it within 12 months, and perhaps don't want to change spec within few months of launch, so waiting until new engine is ready. I suspect 1.5mhev meets requirements (or can easily be tweaked to meet euro7), whereas current non-hev 2 litre tsi needs superseding
  7. Just launched (have opened separate thread), a sort of son of Yeti, an electric urban crossover https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/522000-elroq-and-epiq-new-electric-models/ Details of Epiq https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/this-will-be-skoda-epiq-find-out-more/
  8. Announced in Skoda press conference today 15th March 2024 Elroq, an electric suv similar size to Karoq in 2024 Epiq, a baby electric suv, think son of Yeti or Citigo on steroids, in 2025 https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/skoda-annual-press-conference-watch-it-live/ https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/this-will-be-skoda-epiq-find-out-more/
  9. Looked at base (SE Technology) spec to compare engines 1.5tsi 150PS WLTP 46.6-53.3mpg 122-130g CO2 2.0tdi 150PS. WLTP 53.3-56.5mpg 130-139g CO2 £560 extra with diesel fuel regularly 5-8% more than petrol (summer) and nearer 9-12% more in winter (as it is similar to heating oil), on face of it might cost more to run the diesel. The pricing is also very close to the £40,000 extra tax threshold, it appears if you want SEL spec estate, if you add metallic paint then over the £40k. Even adding couple of options to base spec means have to watch the tax threshold
  10. Just discovered this wheel catalogue which might help you choose, the catalogue numbers are there so should be able to get through parts Dept of your dealer https://www.skoda-auto.com/_doc/a1a05a53-26b1-4278-9251-515531f22ecb
  11. For those unsure of wheels, there are pictures and sizes in this handy catalogue https://www.skoda-auto.com/_doc/a1a05a53-26b1-4278-9251-515531f22ecb
  12. If you are still mulling wheels, this is the wheels brochure from 2022, which has pictures and all the offsets and tyre sizes Note mk3 is shown as Roman III, and mk 4 as Roman IV (don't confuse with hybrid iv) . If anyone has a link to a 2024 brochure can they please post it https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/639a0118-4da5-446b-a786-86e1f789b57b EDIT, think this is current brochure https://www.skoda-auto.com/_doc/a1a05a53-26b1-4278-9251-515531f22ecb
  13. Skoda has produced a brochure of all the wheels with pictures, the mk4 is shown as Roman IV (don't confuse with hybrid iv). Might help with ideas. This is 2022 brochure, but if anyone has found a new 2024 brochure please post the link https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/639a0118-4da5-446b-a786-86e1f789b57b EDIT, think I have found latest brochure https://www.skoda-auto.com/_doc/a1a05a53-26b1-4278-9251-515531f22ecb
  14. Regarding the sat nav, it was fixed mapping until the models went online. There are ways to download new maps, copy over the registration file etc (other threads have process). However any map is offline (no live traffic updates) unless you subscribe so most people just plug in phone and use google maps or Waze etc SE-L spec had vast list of cost options, so need to check spec properly if there is something you can't do without. Some car adverts just cut and paste standard spec which makes checking ads online rather unreliable for exact spec. Spec has slightly changed over time, but in reality unless you are prepared to search vast area online then your budget will be main determinant. But do initial research on autotrader, and other sites (some places only subscribe to cheaper websites so might not be on biggest), Skoda used website is not best by long way for quick comparison.
  15. Yes, some mk2 Superbs were built with 16 inch wheels Official tyre size for them is 205/55 R16 94V 6J width rims had offset 50 (48-52 is ok) 7J width rims had offset 45 (43-47 is ok) you need 5 bolt, 112 PCD (bolt spacing), with 57.1mm centre bore
  16. Takes 1-2 days from factory to Emden docks by rail Can sit at Emden anything from couple of days to few weeks depending on ship sailing schedule 2-5 days sailing (might go via other ports), before arriving Sheerness, Grimsby or Tyne. Typically will then wait for other cars going to same dealer, to fill a transporter (might be split load with another dealer), anything from day to about 16 days. Depending on if your salesman is on the ball, and books in PDI in workshop can be ready within 48 hours of arrival, however as others have found when trying to book a service or warranty work, some dealerships have waits of 5 weeks for workshop space, so if it has to join workshop queue could sit there for few weeks before ready for handover.
  17. I would ask dealer for screen prints / or a copy of your order from Skoda system. My hunch is won't be getting the facelift, both the Superb and Kodiaq orders stopped about 3 months ago and UK sales of these have been announced from June, therefore seems logical the facelifted Octavia will be nearer September, assuming same transition lead time.
  18. Skoda UK have added a webpage on Octavia facelift https://www.skoda.co.uk/new-cars/teaser/new-octavia
  19. Yes, might be possible to nudge stick sideways with body, or an unbuttoned jacket
  20. PCP deals are apparently in big trouble, just look at the current Karoq offer (with Feb sale) https://www.skoda.co.uk/finance/deals/karoq-pcp Click on the green calculate button, default is : cash price £28,365 total payable £32,034.14 so basically, deal is pay them £3700, although they jazz it up as they give you £3250, although it ought to be obvious that you then have to pay them £7k to end up £3700 higher than start price. Then when you look at the deposit, it's £5105, which is same as 20 (yes twenty) months of £252. Why would anyone want to do PCP on those terms, if can find £5100 for a deposit then must have some financial sense to have saved that up, and if got financial common sense, going to see through any distorted headline monthly payment figure, and look at total cost of the deal. The other reason deals are in trouble is many had big problems changing at end of a deal that expired in lockdown (and for months afterwards), scarcity of new cars resulted in people hitting the option point, unable to get replacement car, so paying the balloon payment, as only other option was no vehicle. Having bought it, many are keeping it.
  21. If it helps you decide then this article says both the new Kodiaq and new Superb will be in UK from June. https://skodamedia.com/en-gb/releases/1471 Of course it could be the first ones are to a spec chosen by the factory to look good in showrooms, and real customers won't get their configured ones until few weeks later. But I could be wrong and configurator will open soon.
  22. There are some that think PCP has had its day, many now realise that it is just a money-go-round money pit. What seems to have woken people up is the roll over to a new car deals aren't working as previous batch of PCPs got all the post covid residuals and trade in values wrong. One of the default finance calculators on Skoda website was showing over £7k for total payable less cash price for a Kodiaq. If going to have to pay that much in interest, then settling your existing car PCP and keeping the car few years makes lot of sense (even if got to take bank loan for couple of years to pay it off).
  23. @Vlady you don't give the prices, which might make one lot cheaper, but if similar then not a lot in it. The 1.5tsi is fairly efficient, and in mixed driving the mpg difference to diesel is not as big as some think. Allowing for diesel often being 8-10% more than petrol, even closer by types of fuel. My gut feeling is if don't tow or load car up lots, and do lots of short journeys ferrying kids around, then get the petrol. The 4x4 is more expensive to service, and heavier (it's extra weight is like carrying few bags of cement around all the time), so uses more fuel than 2wd. Unless you live up steep hills can use money saved to buy decent tyres with winter rating instead of opting for 4x4
  24. No, not under the bonnet, in wheel arch. At home only practical way to check is to jack up the car (as if you were going to change a wheel) then with wheel hanging down lift rubber gaiter on the big strut at top and look for coloured spacers). Don't need to undo or take off the wheel, just lift body on jack so can reach above wheel.
  25. SurreyJohn replied to MickA's topic in Škoda Kamiq
Unlike the manual, the DSG has bit of clever trickery. When stopped with foot firmly on the brake, if you ease the brake (ease the pedal, not lift foot off), it tells the car ready to go, and then you don't get any lag when switch foot to accelerator. From memory (my car is a 1.0tsi DSG, but not a Kamiq), if you use start-stop (I always turn it off after starting) this also makes car ready as does wobbling steering wheel by slightly turning it. The lag only happens if you from fully pressed brake pedal (staying stopped) to slamming foot down on accelerator really quickly, as if don't have any anticipation time between them.
