  1. You are getting confused, withdrawing is another term for changing your mind in first few days, that is terminating through cancelling (ie where everything goes back as if deal hadn't happened, no car sale and no loan) Settling is paying off the remaining outstanding. In first 14 days there is just token bit of daily interest or small flat fee. After 14 days usually got to pay another months interest. Not hundreds of pounds extra interest (although on big loans a months interest could be couple of hundred pounds) Nowadays the loans are online, and printed after electronic signature in the dealers, so go live within seconds. But at one time it would take couple of days for loan paperwork to be mailed to finance Co and in turn entered on their system, so had to give them few days before you could call to settle. I am not sure if you are (incorrectly) using term withdrawing to mean a voluntary early handback and sale of the car, where it's value part settles the loan and there is a shortfall which requires hundreds of pounds of cash to cover the shortfall.
  2. This should be in the Kodiaq mk1 section. I will ask mod to move it. The range was rationalised months ago, so getting spec you want will mean lots of searching. Very few nearly new Kodiaq out there pending new model @jalma Try looking at these, only 1 is shown as 150bhp, but one of the more powerful ones definitely has park assist. Could try unfiltering blue https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?advertising-location=at_cars&aggregatedTrim=Laurin %26 Klement&colour=Blue&fuel-type=Diesel&make=Skoda&model=Kodiaq&postcode=BA15 1EF&sort=relevance&year-from=2022
  3. The 1.0tsi is much better engine than some realise, especially in the 113-115bhp versions. Will cope fine. It also works superbly with DSG box and having 7 gears tends to keep it in sweet spot. but not as relaxing to drive with manual gearbox.
  4. Your 8 year old car won't be to the tougher current euro6d RDE2 emissions spec, where everything related to emissions is more complicated and sensitive. The latest diesel emissions equipment is seriously expensive to repair if it gets problems.
  5. The only way to long term fix it fully is to change the boot wiring loom. We had to do that, same problem couldn't unlock boot, and in our case rear wiper would sweep whilst unlocking as broken wires must have been touching. Just seems to be cable spec problem, not flexible enough where pass through the shroud where tailgate (and doors) are hinged, so break rather than flex
  6. Ask for pad thickness measurements, not a percentage. If they can't tell you then probably haven't measured them so is up selling waffle. I once had a garage (Seat ex Audi in Twickenham) pull the 80% worn stunt on me, did nothing, following year a different garage said just over half worn. So either they lied, or pads somehow grew back over following year. But mileage is poor indicator of brake use, if live in very hilly area or with lots of traffic lights going to use brakes lot more than someone cruising many miles at constant speed on good road.
  7. Most of my knowledge comes from living near where Avon rubber used to be based, the huge tyre factory at nearby Melksham also closed recently (Cooper part of Goodyear group). As for tyre fitters, most just seem to give patter to suit the customer, but there is one old chap who does tyres for independent repair centre that seems to have very good knowledge. He doesn't rate Michelin tyres anymore as he says sees many (punctured) nearly new ones with tread worn down in parts to 4-5mm because they can't cope with the rutted/broken tarmac on local country roads. Whereas I know others rave about Michelin, so goes to show no consistent view.
  8. Not clear if it will make it to UK, but seems to have seats from recycled materials. In the Sportline variants, Škoda Auto combines elements of the RS look with other powertrains in the series: the 1.5 TSI with 110 kW (150 hp), the 2.0 TSI with 150 kW (204 hp) and all-wheel drive as well as the two 2.0 TDI diesels with 85 kW (115 hp) and 110 kW (150 hp). The sports suspension, lowered by 15 millimetres, and progressive steering are also included as standard. The Škoda grille surround, window frames and wing mirrors are finished in Black Magic metallic on the Octavia Sportline, and the rear side windows and rear window are tinted (“Sunset”). The spoiler lips on the front apron and on the hatchback’s tailgate are also painted in Black Magic metallic, as is the roof spoiler on the Combi. The rear bumper features a Black Magic metallic diffuser. LED rear lights with animated turn indicators and animated Coming/Leaving Home function come as standard, while LED Matrix beam headlights are available as an option. The Octavia Sportline rolls on the new black 17-inch brushed Slagard aero wheels as standard. 18-inch Vega aero wheels and the 19-inch Draconis wheels exclusive to the Sportline are available as options. The front wings are adorned with redesigned Sportline badges. The new, two-dimensional Škoda logo on the bonnet and the Škoda lettering on the tailgate are black. The lettering projected onto the ground from the front doors conforms to the new Škoda CI. The scuff plates are finished in black. The interior of the Octavia Sportline is also modelled on the RS. Examples include the three-spoke multifunction sports leather steering wheel, the pedals’ stainless-steel look and the decorative strips in Black Middle Carbon on the dashboard and in gloss black on the doors. In the Sportline Design Selection, the sports seats’ upholstery is made of grey recycled fabric and artificial leather. Artificial leather is also used for the door trims and the PAD on the dashboard, complete with double rows of grey stitching. Here is full list of trim options Overview of the Design Selections Trim level. The 2.0 TSI with 150 kW (204 hp) is due to be launched at a later date and will come with all-wheel drive as standard.
  10. 50 minutes time, But likely to put more info up, once presentation done, my guess is likely to be similar to new Superb and Kodiaq, with lounge and loft etc https://www.newskodaoctavia.com/ .
  11. New ones are not as bad noise wise as those from decade ago, but you will definitely hear it on a cold frosty morning. The bigger question is about costs, the emissions equipment added to them to meet euro6d is horrendously expensive to fix if it goes wrong, or starts to clog up. With many of the diesels now nearer £2k more than petrol equivalent, diesel regularly 15p per litre more, it can take a driver doing under 15k miles per year over a decade to make savings that cover the higher price. Remember a diesel doing a regen will do about 25mpg, and if that is half an hour once a fortnight it Is going to change average mpg (regen mpg are excluded from official figures)
  12. 9am UK (10am CET) on 14th Feb Will be on this site https://newskodaoctavia.com/
  13. In recent years, lots of mentions of wet clutch DSG playing up after not being serviced properly, similarly problems with Haldex on 4x4 where the filter cleaning extra work wasn't done. But you will find virtually no mention of faults on DQ200 dry clutch DSG built in last few years, only those on pre 2015 cars. So not sure what you are dreading. Also can now get All in One, on cars over 3 years old. for not much more than cost of major and minor service and 2 MOTs, get 2 years warranty, breakdown cover too. Unlike cars with manual gearboxes, DSGs are covered by the warranty, so can get peace of mind. (They also have 20-25% sales at intervals, and good value when at sale price)
  14. Dental Floss is better than trying to lever it off.
  15. Skoda are running what they call a sale. On PCP Just did an Example on calculate button (top of screen) Can change spec, but I used default which is Karoq SE Drive 1.0tsi defaults to 48 months Cash price is £28,365 Total payable under offer £32,034.14 offer is actuary adding 12.93% extra to price. So offer is you pay them £3669.14 extra !! or they give you £3250 and you give them £6919.14 https://www.skoda.co.uk/finance/deals/karoq-pcp Does anyone else think that is stretching definition of a sale when price ends up higher. Only really a sale if take the £3250 (11.4%) then settle balance within 14 days. To put offer into perspective if go to Poland the Karoq starts at Zlotty 121,050 (£23,890) so wonder why UK price is nearly £4500 higher for same car .
  16. Skoda are being rather sneaky, have slipped out new brochure this week, with new prices and specs. Looks like put price up, then claim offering sale discounts, all rather smacks of give with one hand, take with other. https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/b3469f3e-0a87-4c48-b71f-6d07349e1f1c
  17. There is new brochure 6th February 2024 with latest prices https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/775d73bc-eb9d-4a50-911e-863d73b99333

  20. A new article on paint colours has following, giving a UK date The new Superb is available with six new colours including Cobalt Blue, Carmine Red and Ice Tea Yellow, while the new Kodiaq introduces Bronx Gold. Both are set to arrive in the UK in June. https://skodamedia.com/en-gb/releases/1471
  21. The new Superb is available with six new colours including Cobalt Blue, Carmine Red and Ice Tea Yellow, while the new Kodiaq introduces Bronx Gold. Both are set to arrive in the UK in June. https://skodamedia.com/en-gb/releases/1471
  22. Still not clear if the diesel will make it to UK, overall under 3.5% of new cars now sold in UK is a diesel, and about another 3.4% are mild hybrid diesel, so going for a market of 1 in 30 is quite niche. Skoda UK no longer sell diesels in Fabia, Scala, Kamiq, and have recently stopped 2wd diesel Karoq too.
  23. In UK, the Scala Mote Carlo is £27,795 to £30,445 before options (euro 32,493 to 35,590) Not that there are many options in UK. Just paint, a convenience package, a winter package and a factory warranty extension. If want the red paint it is extra £1045
  24. Superb tend to be softer ride, more of a limo than a family car, but the wide variety of wheel and tyre sizes also affect the ride quality. Not sure how old your current car is, but be careful if you buy a diesel car to euro6d spec, the emissions equipment is very expensive to fix and not happy if get lots of short journey town driving and negligible longer journeys. The 4x4 versions are heavier (the extra deadweight is like carrying few sacks of cement around), obviously increases fuel consumption and maintenance. Unless you live up a steep hill, buying a set of winter wheels might work out cheaper than getting 4x4 version.
  25. If you want to modify a car, would it not be better to buy it. Leasing is more like borrowing, expected to return it same condition less fair wear and tear These days they can download cars computer memory, and go over car with fine tooth comb under UV light to see how much they can sting you for on return.
