  1. Anything to do with the DSL switch over is it?
  2. Old bike: New bike: Presently riding: Nothing, I've got fluid on my knee after an off.
  3. Aye, I suppose, retro !
  4. But aren't the right size. Looks like little and large .
  5. Maybe but didn't it flee the scene? No i mean if you have an accident in a vehicle other than your own, you should tell your own insurance company i think. Not sure many people do though.
  6. I'd try to get hold of some Valeo X.trms myself, cheaper and you can get the right size. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/octavia/how-your-retro-fit-aero-wipers-getting/61420/4/
  7. Yeah, not the cleanest! I thought i'd keep it and use it thru winter to prevent my new bike getting into that state every ride but I don't fancy riding it much anymore, the new one is so much better! I was thinking £100-150 too, if i was lucky, but it owes me more than that. Maybe some component swapping then breaking, shame. :(
  8. Nobody? Maybe a piccy would help:
  9. Question is, do you now tell your own insurance company?
  10. I bought a new mtb bike recently but have so far held onto my old bike as I couldn't bare to part with it. I built it up from components about 8 years ago, upgraded things along the way and generally sorted it to exactly how I wanted it. Things move on though and with me moving house to near Wharncliffe Woods an xc bike wasn't really suited to the riding being done. I therefore bought a Marin Rocky Ridge, xc ish but with big travel and big tyres. With Wharncliffe now rapidly turning to a bog, I dusted off my old bike for a ride the other day but, to be quite honest, didn't like it one bit anymore. My new bike is so much more capable and better to ride. Its also taking up valuable garage space. If I sell the old bike, will I get anything for it though? Spec: 19" frame, not a real Ritchey but uses Ritchey Tange Prestige Steel tubing throughout, Ritchey dropouts etc, originally branded XLR8 (Leisure Lakes brand). Pace Evo 90mm forks, coil spring/oil damped (the last ones before all the silly air stuff) Magura HS33 hydraulic rim brakes 8 speed, LX throughout near enough (XT cassette, chain, BB) F519s (or whatever they are called today), with LX front hub, Deore rear Finishing kit: X-lite, XLR8, Bontrager etc Grease Guard headset (awesome piece of kit) It shows the signs of a few years of use but everything works sweetly. I spent a bit of money on it before I succumbed to a new bike – the brakes and BB have only probably 50 miles of use and the rear wheel only 10 miles. It therefore owes me £175 recently but I don't think I'll get that much for it. Opinions please? The other option is to throw some nice bits onto the girlfriends bike, maybe exchange her Judy TTs for the Pace, swap the HS33 with her XT Vs, the new rear wheel with her Specialized/Weinmann. The only trouble with that is she has combined shifters/brake levers so I'd need to buy some new separate ones. Thoughts?
  11. I've got a Keene RGB to Component box of tricks and it was well worth getting, a vast improvement in picture quality from the freeview box's composite signal i was having to feed the projector with. JS Technology are generally accepted as the best you can buy. Check out avforums for more info.
  12. The Valeo x.trms finally arrived today and I whacked them straight on. Not quite as minimalist as the pucker conversion but a lot cheaper. Here's a piccy:
  13. I had this, told the dealer r.e. sensors and expansion tank replacement (I was under warranty at that stage), he told me just to put a bit more coolant in. Its never done it since.
  14. Its doesn't get much simpler, you just push the wire into V shaped holders, it does the stripping bit for you. You should get a tool and guide when you buy the cable, if not just google for it.
  15. You'd be better off spending the extra cash on even better front brakes than doing the rears as well. Its all about the fronts you know!
  16. Oh, and btw, it was my first opportunity to test my new 312mm brake setup. Anyone with a 4x4 thinking how much difference can an extra inch possibly make, well, a whole lot, an awesome upgrade for the money. Cheers GolfTurbo.
  17. OK, initial review after a quick blast out tonight (may post again after a few more miles use). It was delivered next day after ordering, unfortunately missing the back plate. No drama, gave them a ring (have to be creative with the phone no. you use), they apologised profusely and sent me one in the post a few days later. Installation was a breeze but I'd definately recommend watching the video on the web, it makes much more sense than the still pictures. It was ready to go in a couple of minutes. Does it work - yep, it certainly does. I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but to start with it was slightly odd feeling. You very soon get used to it though, then, very soon after that it feels very odd not having it pulled nice and snug. You move around less, allowing you better feel and control. I turned into one corner way to aggressively, presumably previously that level of input was required cos i'd be off balance on my seat. In summary: It does exactly what it says it does, its not much money, what have you got to loose by trying it really?
  18. Is there no end to your list of new things?! You do live in a very select area now I suppose though.
  19. Only playing:thumbup: Not received the clamp yet but hopefully in tomorrows post. Will post up my thoughts after i've given it a wizz, should help bed my new brakes in!
  20. I can just picture the scene at the petrol (diesel?) station now!
