  1. For future reference then, the Marin Rocky Ridge out performed a more expensive Chameleon build in a recent mag. I bought a Rocky Ridge 1 month ago and can't fault it, its a sweet piece of kit.
  2. Take it its you in your avtar and on the website? I'd say your avtar piccy sends out a message like: confident, fun, cool; the website one looks a bit geeky for me.
  3. I've got an 03 4x4, i'd not hesitate to recommend it. Get it remapped, lowered and if your sensible some TT front brakes, sorted. You can get too much toe-in on the rear if your not careful when lowering, just depends how far you go.
  4. LOL, the numbers keep changing around, classic! Certainly caught peoples' imagination that one, cool.
  5. Anyone help with 8 or 12? http://www.carsarethestars.co.uk/index/index.htm
  6. 1J0 959 654 AG - cancelling ring with slip ring and steering sensor - ESP
  7. Thanks for the thoughts fellas but i've done all of those things. The way I see it any problem with the rim should equal a puncture always in the same location relative to the valve, likewise something in the tyre is very unlikely to 'drop on' to an old patch each time assembled. I put a brand new tube in last night, i'll have a look this morning to see whether its still up. I'm favouring the pump causing the problem at the moment, maybe pushing too much air at too higher presure whilst operating, possibly combined with the hot weather softening the patch rubber?!? It is a Mitchelin turbo nutter twin pump.
  8. My old rim was a F519, my new one is a XM719 (or something) basically the F519 with a new name. I could understand puncturing in the same area of the wheel/tyre, some undetected sharp bit on the rim or an undetected thorn thru the tyre, but to puncture in different places but always on a patch is very funny.
  9. Reused my old stuff which was fine for months/years. Is reusing bad?
  10. I received my new wheel yesterday, from merlin of course. There is one slight problem though, I can't get it to stay inflated! I've checked all the usual things you think it might be but here's the weird bit - the leak comes from old patches. Two different tubes, three different repair patches (1xstick on, 2xold school). I put the tube in, pump it up and either it immediately pops or goes down over night, each time the hole appearing in a repair patch. Any ideas? Could it be the weather? Is it my two chamber foot pump? As far as i'm aware i'm doing nothing different to normal. I'm baffled!
  11. That sounds familiar, i was just getting over my shoulder/side/leg injury from stacking my new Marin and last night I go and do my ankle and wrist in with a very lame SPD sideways fall. :thumbdwn:

    oi eddy

lol at gearknob being swear filtered. You must be pretty excited Eddy but how frustrating, having a quick blast then having to give it back!
  13. Sounding good Eddy, looking forward to seeing the result. I take it James is banned from driving it, I don't think hes ever seen the low side of 4000 rpm!
  14. What size centre do you need? Have you tried ebay?
  15. I've got an SPS3, it does exactly what it says on the tin - variable boost, variable timing, stock mode and anti theft. Dial it up, pop it in, < 10secs later drive on.
  16. KW V1s here, recommended, that makes 4. Off you go now. I think the FKs are pretty good for the money but from what i've heard the threads that you adjust the ride height on can corrode after a short while. No such problems with the KW Inox bodies.
  17. Kumho, cheap and cheerful.
  18. I've got Ectsa 715. Not a bad tyre for general purpose, wet grip isn't great but i've never ran out of grip in the dry.
  19. Its always good to see your car Eddy. How about including interior shots also, with lights on of course.
  20. Nice and easy to clean, I like!
  21. Thats what i've thought for a while too, this induction kit malarky isn't all that its cracked up to be, especially when its hot. Add to that messing around with intake lengths etc and all is not what it seems.
  22. OK, i'm with it now. Now that is a big turbo, its the size of a dinner plate! Are you getting the cylindrical green filter too, you know, the one thats about 2 foot long!
