  1. The future plans include New seats (hate the vRS ones, no lateral support for my fat arse) Black carpet (so the filth and rubble that can be found on the floor aren't so damn obvious) Aero wiper arms Downpipe with V-band sports cat Diesel centre section New back box with 3" tails (not rolled, hate rolled, looks like, well, erm, a rim. Guys know what I'm talking about!) Remap SMF/VR6 clutch Rods/TFSI K04 conversion Brembos So not too much then Oh, and it's project filthy because it lives under a bloody great fir tree that pigeons constantly shag in, and consequently, gets crapped on and covered in sap during the summer. Clean the car, go indoors, come back out, it's covered in pigeon exceretions and tree sap. This got old after about 15 minutes of living in this carboard crapshack of a flat so 18 months on, the paintwork is basically fecked. And I've crashed it :(
  2. OK, so I've actually had my mk1 vRS for nearly 18 months now, and the poor thing has suffered some abuse over those miles (bieng a Land Rover nut, my driving style is often described as, er, 'industrial') It was a bone stock, tidy(~ish) mk1 with rusty tailgate. The previous owner (a member of this forum will be saddened to hear I've let her slip, so things change NOW! I've already deleted the SAI/N112/N249 as can be seen here The missus will hate me for posting that, I can feel it in my waters... Anyways, chrome is for midlife crisis owners (AKA Harley riders), so time to get ride of the bling Should really have removed the grille and done it properly, but I was impatient and the bolts are just blobs of rust that will turn to iron filings when I try and remove them, I can feel it. I'll do it properly when I get a few more hours to myself, promise! Now, the gearbox has been doing a good impression of a supercharger, so gearbox oil change was next up Much better, doesn't sound like a dog box in the car when on the overrun now And the next mod was going to be an S2000 cone filter and heat shield (Bowders supplied the cone at a steal of a price - cheers mate!) but my brother managed to nab it as his new A3 purchase turned out to to have a rusty Halfords special filter sucking in foetid hot air (and rust). The heat shield was also crappity crap crap crap so I sent that back in disgust and will be making my own, Jabba style. In the mean time, as the panel filter was manky and I'm not doing too many miles in her at the moment as the clutch is shagged, I stuck this on It's an OEM Honda Prelude air filter. Kinda like the S2000 filter, but more compact and an even greater surface area! The S2000 has circa 250,000mm2 of filter surface area, this has 330,000mm2 and cost me the grand total of a fiver posted; the silicone coupler was also cheaper at 9 quid too
  3. Ahhh! I did think to myself, that's a very nice Felly! Sorry I didn't let you turn, usual post shift angry drive home
  4. Were you in Fareham town centre last week by any chance? I swear I saw your car...
  5. Diesel centre = straight through Looks like you might have a buggered mount though? Downpipe shouldn't have affected it like that!
  6. Have you used a diesel centre section?
  7. Mine are on the corners using the measurements given, and I don't know if it's a crap kit, or the sensors are in the wrong place, but I'm borderline feeling about ripping the fu**ing things out as they go off at the slightest thing!
  8. It's not too much more work to pull the front panel/rad/headlights to get unprecedented access to just yank it out from the front. I've lost count of the number of old Fords I've had to just about drop to the floor as my hoists never went high enough to get them out the top.
  9. Who mapped it? With a stock side mount, TIP and that CDA, you don't have 237bhp, you have optimistic rollers. ~240bhp seems to be the top end of k03s power with all bolt ons. Sounds like you want a front mount, a decent TIP and a better induction kit as there's more to be had. You still want it to handle better too, and a diff would be ace as ASR is no replacement for an LSD
  10. Do you have a front mount and a TIP? If yes, then there's not a lot left in that k03s and it's probably time for a k04 or a hybrid if you want more power, which means handling mods are a must first IMO
  11. I'm using BKR7Es in a stock engine. It seems to idle and run OK, looks like it might just be placebo effect?
  12. Done mine today, dimensions were spot on!
  13. Seconded, I'm doing mine tomorrow with these too
  14. Yup, I might do this to mine as my paint has been ruined by bird **** and tree sap. It'll be matte black plastidipped using a B&Q HVLP sprayer.
  15. £102 for two bits of tube! I think I might just make a few myself next time I'm at my friendly local machine shop playing(breaking) the big tools :(
  16. I've got the same kinda noise on my vRS, tbh, I lack a certain clutch pedal finesse and think I've probably knackered the gearbox mount (got a powerflex tdi dogbone mount in) :(
  17. That, makes me hard Think I'm gonna have to pop out and rip mine off and do the same.
  18. Get it on! Looking nice mate, and in the best colour too
  19. Yup, it'll need coding in or the immo defeated first
  20. And also the consensus is that you need to chop the flare off the front of the mid section, as the diesel downpipe is sleeved into the mid section, and the petrol uses a joiner. I'm going to be doing this myself shortly.
  21. Agreed, I've had my fair share of good kit along with all the tat imaginable from China. I'm more interested in the quality of the parts, and particularly the wiring and connectors. If they turn out to be OK, I might start flogging them on eBay
