  1. Looking good so far! Keep going when you're able to obviously!😁
  2. I'm not sure about underlays either to be honest. The foil backed stuff you have should do a reasonable job beneath the underlay I would think though.
  3. Fairy liquid as lube is your friend. Also if you have trouble getting the cord into the seal, a biro with the ends taken out to run the cord through helps. Once the screen is in place, plenty of banging on the seal with your hands to make sure it's sitting in tight is the way to go.
  4. That is correct. I think the centre console will be a scrapper job. But keep your eye on thebay. Also consider putting a "Wanted" post in the Classics section!
  5. Another option, possibly for future consideration, would be to get yourself one of the centre consoles out of a car (you possibly already have one!) and cut a hole for the lighter socket in that and extend the wiring. Could look pretty neat.
  6. You probably could make ones, but again that might just be the top. Take one off and have a look at the shape. I'm willing to bet that the bit underneath that sits in the casting of the cover will be absolutely fine and then you'll be able to see what shape you might need.
  7. Those things that look like washers are actually more like rubber bushes. If they're not disintegrating, they should be alright to reuse until you can find new ones. Same goes for the gasket actually. The nuts shouldn't be very tight to hold the rocker cover on.
  8. Not necessarily, the passenger side would be the same but a mirror image, so just turn one the other way up. But yeah if they're still stinking, new ones would be good. I would be getting myself some stuff that would cut down on the noise a bit more. On a side note, I forgot that I also have a couple of wheels off a Pickup with pretty much new winter tyres on in the garage.
  9. I think they are situated there to catch water coming down the A pillars but couldn't say for definite. And they rust because of both reasons yeah. They would get blocked and water would lie where they are and spill over into the cab and then they would rot out. Those bits certainly look like the they go under the carpet. It should match up to the carpet at more than a couple of points. I would think the holes go into the foot well for the steering column and/or brake and clutch mechanisms.
  10. The holes are indeed drain holes, you'll need them. Due to the windscreen being a gasket type, water does get behind it and will come into the cab if it doesn't have anywhere to drain. It's a common Felicia problem, originally the holes were quite small, I had the ones on my car enlarged a bit last time I had the seal replaced and it seemed to help. So if you do weld a plate over them, I recommend that you re-drill a hole in the plate. I think mine were increased to 8mm from 5 or 6 originally.
  11. Excellent historical punage there @Paws4Thot! Seriously though, Royal Mail works just the same here as it does on the mainland contrary to popular belief.😁
  12. The cigarette lighter socket power is switched. What a great project, I had a diesel one that my Dad had originally bought but the bodywork was far worse than yours and I couldn't get it in anywhere to do the work on. I ended up scrapping it unfortunately along with my first car, also a Felicia. Needless to say, I have a few spares still lying around in the garage including a service kit (with oil) that you can get if you're interested. There's a few exterior trim bits too so let me know. And keep up the great work!
  13. For the TPMS fault, the system works using the ABS rather than sensors in the actual wheels, so if you have an ABS fault showing the two will most likely be linked. Hope you get it all sorted. Keep up the good work!
  14. The oil cooler has its own coolant feed pipes, not from the block, so any mixing there would be happening inside the cooler. I can't remember the price of a filter housing unit off hand but I don't think it was that expensive. Word of warning, if you have to take the housing off at all, have a new gasket ready to go on. If it's leaking already, it's highly likely that the leak will be worse when you put the cooler back on no matter how much you tighten the bolts. Good luck!
  15. @N-C I can see from your pics that the inner edges of the rear tyres are quite worn and the drivers side rear is out of shape which would be causing your droning sound. If you look at the bottom of the tyre in your pic, on the left hand side of it, you can see a "straight" bit. A wheel alignment reset should help with the wear, I had mine done last year.
  16. Try mentioning @skoman and he might see your message. Hope you get the help.👍
  17. The dealers should have those ready to sell but probably at an inflated price. Try Skodaparts or LLLparts.
  18. I don't at the moment, I'll get the mats looked out and get some for you in the next couple of days if that's alright?
  19. I got Apec driveshafts for my Fabia last year, they seem to be decent and we're reasonably priced. I got them from my local motor factor so they should be readily available somewhere near you.
  20. Ah well, no immediate rush then.👍
  21. I would think the mismatched tyre sizes will be your problem there. The TPMS works off the ABS so any irregularities might well put the light on.
  22. Flashing glow plug light could be a sticking EGR or inlet valve. They do reset after an ignition cycle until they break or stick permanently. The diagnostic plug in should provide the answer.
  23. Yeah I would think so. Was it even a colour option on the saloon? I seem to think the colours were limited on it, I'll need to check my old brochure.🤔
  24. It's a shame one of them isn't a saloon too!😁
  25. How long are they? You can fit items up to 3m long inside an Octavia hatch with no difficulty.
