  1. I think anybody that buys premium diesel is doing it on nothing other than good faith that it is better rather than any factual information. As for testing, its impossible to get repeatable results so it would have to be over a very very long time. My commute is as consistent as it could possibly get in terms of a constant speed with no traffic but even then, it might be windy one week and I could average 52mpg and the next its nice and warm with no wind and I average 64mpg. Its a complete lottery. Its the same with the cleaning aspect, unless you pull apart 2 of the same engines, driven the same way, over hundreds of miles, there is no definitive answer on whether its worth it.
  2. The digital readout will also be an adjusted reading, otherwise people would complain they didn’t match. the only way to know the actual temperature is through a diagnostic tool/software
  3. Use a bigger hammer! I've always just given the outside a good clout. I would guess that the tool needs to pull against both surfaces really but even if you just pulled on the outer one it should surely have the same effect as the innards of the joint will just transfer the pulling force to the inside race anyway? That is if this CV joint design is held on with a clip in a recess like I am familiar with Also, its not a slide hammer is it? curious as to what you would pull against?
  4. More than likely just moisture and fumes from combustion condensing in the cool air
  5. What tow bars are people using on their superbs? I didn't have any intention of letting Skoda fit one but I asked for a price today out of curiosity and I'm gad I was sitting down. £750???????? I can remember shopping around for ages when I was looking for one for the golf and managed to get a Westfalia one that didn't require any bumper cuts but looking at the Superb bumper it seems this won't be possible but I would like to keep the cutting to a minimum. Also regarding the electrics, can you get a plug and play kit that will integrate with can bus or is it a case of splicing into wiring and using a bypass relay? (I have VCDS if any coding is required)
