  1. You're using obd11 though, not VCDS
  2. sooner fit a wooden wheel as a spare than use a can o' gunk. There's no guarantee of sealing it and it's a once only affair
  3. @ScoutCJB Yeah I've just hooked mine up and I get 31347. See below I'm sure you've already checked, but are you using the very latest version?
  4. Would have assumed it would have been Amundsen minimum. My centre speaker sometimes feels like it's vibrating, but I'm not sure if that's because I'm listening to something with a fair bit of bass in it
  5. Have you got the variable boot floor? If you have then I suppose having a wheel sticking slightly above in the lower section won't matter because it'll be under the floor. But I've had spacesavers in my last 2 cars and they're easy to have on to be able to limp to garage. Don't get any tyre goo crap. Loads of tyre fitters go spare if it's been used, especially if you want the tyre fixing. And it's not a fix all solution. Get a nick in the sidewall and it's not fixing that. And it's a once only affair.
  6. There might not be a symbol or 'airbag' written on the A pillar, but unless yours was a Friday afternoon car, you will have curtain airbags fitted within the depths of your A pillar. Only thing to do would be to pull a trim piece off and have a look for yourself. IIRC its the rear airbags along with the crew protection which was the optional extra.
  7. With exhausts it depends what your tolerances to noise, vibration and harness are like. It does also matter a lot what your car is for. My old i20 used to have an ASBO system on, which was great for doing the traffic light grand prix and going for a razz with your mates. BUT, it wasn't my daily as I used the van for work at that point in time. Now I'm using the car again for work, I don't think I'd be able to bear having a background drone for miles on end. But that's one of the good things about your slightly more expensive exhaust systems; the button to allow you to have the vast amounts of sound when the situation calls for it and then a press of it again to get things back tame. And yes I have to agree with your comments on comparing a tuned VRS diesel to a standard VRS petrol. At the time of buying my VRS tdi, the 230 was the new kid on the block, but I still remember it to feel quicker than I've ever been able to get my VRS.
  8. Nor does mine, but I know they're there because I had the left trim off when I was routing my dashcam cable and there's a curtain airbag a significant length of it
  9. Yeah I too would advise against sticking anything to your A pillar. Curtain airbag goes off and you'll have a phone potentially hurtling towards you. Would you not be able to fashion something possibly on top of the dashboard?
  10. Seems odd for them to be using DOT 3 in this day and age. I would have assumed in the Leaf you could use DOT 4. And with regards to colour, it'll either be clear or amber ish colour. The only one which is distinctly different is DOT 5, which is purple.
  11. you can do it with VCDS or the equivalent. Only thing is sometimes it doesn't go back to where it, only once every so often. Have a look on the VCDS list and see who's close to you
  12. Same here, after limp mode after limp mode, I finally took my box off. The pedal box does make the accelerator peddle act as I'd want it to. Surprisingly, Eco mode on the pedal box is the best.
  13. some aftermarket USB cables don't allow for the correct transmission of the data. I've got my oem cable in the car and an aftermarket one on the charger
  14. been watching these on youtube and I watched that before and it's an amazing achievement and to see the development
  15. Individual mode, with anything in sport, apart from the stupid engine noise. I understand people may want to have a sound pumped through the speakers to make a diesel sound a bit more 'meaty', but it's still a diesel. And I know it's a diesel, because when you give it some beans, you can clearly hear it's a diesel.
  16. I've got a nextbase 312gw in my car and we bought a 322gw for my mum's scala. Picture quality on both of them are fine in the day and night. They do have map functions iirc, but I've only ever plugged them into a pc to update them.
  17. Not had any experience with EBC on my Octavia, but on my old i20, the greenstuffs made a noticeable improvement when used on track. Can't say I saw any fade and they performed from the start. Can't really compare that and an Octavia, I know, due to the significant weight difference. You can get greenstuff for the Octavia, but as a few people have said, redstuff would be better. My mate has a 325i (slightly fiddled for the occasional trackday) and has yellowstuffs but does comment about there being a little less braking when the brakes are cold / on colder days. I've driven the car and can't say I notice, but he's had it with stock pads so will be able to see the difference. They are r90 rated so they must be up to the job on a day to day basis. A lot of people to say about the dust, but I can't say I saw any difference.
  18. could have sworn yours already had that already, apple car play that is. And android auto
  19. doing a search of your part number shows you've a MIB2 Skoda Amundsen
  20. How old is your car and how big diagonally is the screen?
  21. I sometimes get the opposite, it mutes the music and then doesn't unmute it. It may be a similar issue / setting involved
  22. I've PM'd you mate 👍
  23. If you haven't found anyone, I'm off the bottom part of the m58, circa half hour from Bamber Bridge
  24. it's springs which determine the height of your car. A shock is there to slow the speed with the spring compresses / rebounds. But having said that, if the shock hasn't extended after being compressed that could be a cause. If it's stuck compressed, the ride would be noticeably awful. Carried anything of significant weight before this issue started? Or hit any kerbs? Also when you did your checks, did you jack the car up and take the wheel off?
  25. Helps if read doesn't it
