  1. I added the following to my TSI VRS manual Folding mirrors (you can add without electric seats) Full leather Black design pack Winter pack (seats/windscreeen) sunset glass smart link. Kessy I'm happy with everything I went for and only wish I'd added the 19 inch extremes as the looks has grown on me. I think KESSY is super cool and a must have, smart link is good as google maps kick the built in sat navs arse but I think it should be free on the VRS considering its free in the fabia. I do somtime wish I had the DSG when I'm in traffic but my mind changes when I'm rallying around the country side :sun:
  2. Google maps are the best there is IMO. I have sat nav on my VRS but never use it as google maps are far superior. You get up to date traffic info and it will always send you on the fastest route plus you don't need to type anything, just press the microphone button and tell it where you need to go.
  3. I use android auto and I have a Nexus 6p, great phone and the screens massive
  4. Could you tell me how you fitted the block heater and the price.
  5. Hi As the title says, I'm coming up to my first 1k miles and wondering is it worth it if you plan to keep the car for several years? I drive about 10 miles a day but travel quite a bit on weekends, this is when I really get to drive the car cheers
  6. Flying Gecko has made some good points, for me its just a personal thing as I do low milage. Car looks clean
  7. Have you thought about a lease or PCP on a new VRS? I think the one in your link is high milage for its age and price but that's just my opinion, plus it doesn't look like it has any extras so just the basic model.
  8. Think I'll bring my car to your garage for its yearly service
  9. For me Kessy is a must now I've had it and smart link is great for google maps but don't think they should charge extra for this. I got heated leather seats (winter pack), privacy glass, folding mirrors, smart link and kessy when I ordered mine. One thing I wish I'd ordered is a colour maxi dot but I don't lose sleep over it. I got a spare wheel free so glad I didn't spec it.
  10. And I thought my 25 MPG was bad
  11. I'll try and get a pic next time I notice it, it looks like little ovals in a perfect patten and the wipper only hits the body work on the 3rd wipe I did notice today that I can't slide my hand across the back window after the wiper wipes as if there's something on the glass. hadn't thought of that
  12. Hi Guys I've noticed every time I use my rear wiper the rubber makes a lot of noise and judders when wiping and doesn't glide across the glass like the front wipers do, is this normal on a new car? It also touches the metal on every 3 or 4 stroke. Secondly I've noticed that the rear glass has what look like small circle print on the glass, I can only see it in certain light and more when the glass is dirty, does anyone else have this. cheers
  13. Wow!! That driver needs reporting, no need for that driving.
  14. http://ws.skoda-auto.com/OwnersManualService/Data/en/Octavia_5E/11-2014/Manual/Octavia/A7_Octavia_OwnersManual.pdf Here's the manual if you need it, I have it saved in my book marks I'm sure I have it on mine where you set the limit for example to 50 MPH for average speed cameras and it wont let you go over 50 but I will have to check as I've never used it on my new car
  15. Yes I hadn't thought of that I get beading all over the car but the roof seems to hold more
  16. Have noticed today when it stopped raining that my car (Skoda) is the only car on my street that puddles water on its roof. 4 hours later when all other car roofs are dry mine still has little puddles on top :(
  17. Was that price fitted? could you send me a link where you got them cheers
  18. Proton saga is a true hero car. I had a H or J reg that I bought for around £200 in 2001 with 140k on the clock, it was a shed and covered in dents when I got it but it just kept on going. Probably the ugliest car I've see but it had a mitsubishi engine that loved to be reved. Only main fault I had in the 3 years I owned it with out any service apart from tyres was I got a leak so the boot filled with water where the spare would go. After noticing the smell I just drilled a few holes and problem was solve . I sold it for £70 to a mate who totaled it a week later :( Proton Satria Basically a mitsubishi colt with a different badge, paid £500 for a P reg in OK condition in in 2003. Never had any issues with it and it was lovely to drive. Had it a year or so before I think I PX it towards a freelander , miss that car.
  19. yeah just found that out ahhhhhhhhh!!!! this is so ridiculous you have to laugh of all the things you worry about when buying a car, rain pouring in wasn't one of them
