  1. Hi good old Soviet here, YouTube - CBBC - Beat the anorak I am asking if any of Briskolians are remembering, 'Beat the Anorak' from the childrens BBC TV? He was given the redundancy, as many were writing to say that he was too silly in acting, but I always saw this as funny. I have seen many more things on TV saturday morning that are really stupid, and I was always thinking that it was unfair to get rid of 'Beat the Anorak'. Bring back Anorak, and the spam sandwich I think! I am going to get the spam sandwich now. Soviet:thumbup:
  2. I recall from here:- The singing ringing tree, The Tinder box (AND OTHER CHILDRENS STORIES FROM EAST OF EUROPE) eqinox Ask the Anorak (CBBC) Tomorrows world (soon to be returning I think) General hospital Lost in Space The time tunnel Ask the family Orignal Star Trek The Virginian Captain Pugwash Ivor the Engine Noggin the Nog These are some which are from my early times. 3. Hi, What would you expect of justice here, as he is not stealing money, and so this is not so serious in this country now! Soviet:thumbdwn:
  4. Sorry Fezboy, but for me it is 'the pants'. Soviet:thumbdwn:
  5. Hi Cheezemonkhai, I am a recent retired one from my work, and am living from savings and I am one of the p*ssed off savers that you are mentioning. I was always taught to save for things in life and not expect the easy credit, and now I am finding that my hard earned money is being used here, to support those that were encouraged by bankers to take easy credit. I was not happy the last night as on TV there was a person in his 60 years of age that had as many credit cards as he could get hold of, and then he was taking them to the overdraft limits to pay for mortgages on properties. Was it not easy credit that brought about 'credit crunch' in the USA, and the sub prime mortgage selling. Surely I am thinking that maybe interest rates should rise soon, so that people should not expect the easy credit, and should save up for the things in life that they will want. i.e. living with the mother and father, untill they have enough for the house deposit, and not being encouraged by banks to bite off more than they will chew. Savers are now being asked to pay for the bad lending of the banks, and also every payer of income tax is also. Now that 40% will be coming from the interest on my savings, I will sign on for job seekers, to get some of this back from the PM Gordon Brown. I was not going to do this this thing, but I am not happy now, and so I will do this. I put all of blame for this thing on the Bush USA government, and only around 21% of Americans have savings in any case now. I also blame them for causing wars, and other things that are hurting people. May be the new American leader will be changing things a bit, I hope. Soviet:rolleyes:
  6. Hi Clunkclick, I am disagreeing with you I think, I must be defending the Clarkson here, as I think the words were coming off of the cuff as the saying goes. Brand and Ross were premeditating, what they are doing, and so were bad. I have responded to top gear thread thus:- Hi Lady Elanore, (ladyship) Soviet junior always watches this programme, and I will be also if not doing more important things. I find many things funny as always. I always find the funny thing that Clarkson is doing, when he has the blank space on the map of the world where America should be found, and some of their habits that he is not so good about. I did not see the programme here, about the prostitutes remark, which is getting him in to much trouble, but we all know I think that this was just the harmless fun, with no intentions for badness here. I do not put this in the class of what was being said by Ross and Brand which was very bad I think, and they are over payed brats, that should be getting the sack. Brand has gone by himself now I think This programme is still the good one for us. We like Clarkson Soviet:thumbup::thumbup: I think that this is what is making Clarkson, and Clunkclick and you should be making the allowances for him here, maybe. Soviet:thumbup:
  7. Hi Missiegrey, And the very good welcome to the best forum! Soviet:thumbup:

  9. Hi Devonutopia, and good luck for you, with examinations! Soviet:)
  10. Hi Anonymouse, Good to speak again! Last January I was buying the Samsung S630 for Soviet junior. I like this one because it is very good for battery power, but is not slim line also. I think that samsung are the very good brand name for cameras, and even with not so high mega pixels, the quality is so very good. As the new models are coming all of the time, then I would also buy the slimline. Soviet
  11. Hi Doc, I am owning the ZX81 and then Spectrum, many years past for now, and the Spectrum would often have the bad regulator IC which would stop the power, and so I was always replacing this one. This IC would get red hot, with the use, often. The Spectrum is not so good, but my relative had Commodore 64, and it is still working well for today, if he is wanting to use it. Thank you for the interesting question here. Soviet:thumbup:
  12. Hi Grumpy one, It is good now that you are back with us at the forum. What is the work that you are doing now? as I am happy that you are having the easy rest time. You are sounding like the important one working in the office, and are top dog I think, if you are not needing the other workers to be there, and you are doing all the things needed for yourself. Good luck for you, and enjoy the easy rest time for now. Soviet
  13. Hi, I would be cutting my arms off for the changing place with him I think. I have always wanted to be the Cosmonaut, but I think that I am making a dream here. Yuri Gagarin, is the hero for me, always. Thank you for good story:thumbup: Soviet
  14. Hi good old soviet here, Has any one taken the photographs of this, as it would be good for help in seeing what is needing to be done. I am shortly to be doing this thing also, and so it would be good help for all of Brisokda. Thank you Soviet
  15. Hi Pixi, I have the very good hearing, and maybe because I am the older person then the music is not for my taste here. May be it is music that is being used in the shops where I am living now in Swindon UK.The music that is played here is normally the female black vocal type with much high sound screaming and wailing. It is having no tune to it for me, and so it is seeming just to be the noise. I am yet having to go to a shop that is playing music that I enjoy, and may be the music is not of my age now. May be I am still with the Queen group, and even beatles. I am now the silly old man, maybe! Soviet:rolleyes:
  16. Hi Primey, None of this is good, what is happening here as it is not only the HBOS that is bad. America is to be blamed this time for having a credit crunch, and not keeping the house in order. I now know that the FED. in America is now to be taking money to help things, but all the damage is now done I think. The horse is now gone, and the stable is locked, I think. It is very bad that the whole world is suddenly made suffering, and the jobs are going by this thing. Maybe America should be giving compensation to others, but I am thinking that that owe others so much, with record of National debt. It is hard for you, but try to be a bit happy, as things will be changing soon always. The very best of luck, and good fortune to you! Soviet:rolleyes:
  17. Hi Loz, I am keeping the Budgie birds, and Parakeets which I am always doing since my young days here. As I have now many, this is needing to be cleaned often, for the health. May be you could try to have one budgie bird, as it is not taking much too of a problem to maintain a cage, and may be it will talk your voice. Regards for you, Good luck with your choice here. Soviet:)
  18. Hi Doc, Maybe there is the need now for music, but could be the supermarket store soft type, but not so much maybe of heavy metal, rap, soul. Some music here, is being made for the supermarket, and will be played at low volume always, but this may be boring for the younger one, but I think it is called unobtrusive (not intrude). I do not think that I will be going to Gamestation very soon, as I do not mind heavy metal when being at home, but not when I am needing to do shopping for things. Soviet:(
  19. Hi ap0gee, You would turn Good old Soviet in to the American gangster to get his way? I am now needing to be Clint Eastwood, or Arnie and shoot rhe loudspeaker, to kill noise and maybe the manager! I will remember this good advice Soviet:thumbup:
  20. Hi Sinister sheep, I am thinking that you have a good point, but I may not follow the words of the song so quickly. You are very true, that this is annoying for some of the customers. Maybe I am now the old grumpy one (not MR Grumpy, urgh!) as I am now finding the noise not good. Soviet:rolleyes:
  21. Hi Robshaw, and thank you. I would not been seen to want to make trouble at the store, as I am not in this way of doing things here, but I am thinking how much nicer it could be without stores needing to use the loud music. I am recalling when I was working, before taking the retirement, that all of radios and the personal stereos where suddenly banned, as the Company was not having a performing rights license, I am remembering. Maybe I am becoming the old and grumpy one, and am not wanting to be the spoiler of things for those that are enjoying the noise. Regards to you Soviet:thumbup:
  22. Hi Good old Soviet here, When I am going shopping in the town where I am living now, every store is seeming to play the loud music. Sometimes this will be the screaming, wailing type, that I am thinking is called 'soul' here. Some times the volume of the noise is so very loud, and one is being forced to have this, and so I am thinking is this bad, and against my civil liberties? I would much more like it to be quiet so I am able to be concentrating on things that I am needing to buy, and am now finding it very irritating/annoying, and so I am thinking, is any one else from the Briskoda feeling this way also? I am thinking here, how nice it would be if the store is quiet for choosing the items. What are the others thinking on this? Regards Soviet:rolleyes::thumbdwn:
  23. Hi ncarring, My son Soviet junior, had this SP3 happen to his laptop yesterday evening, and he is now happy with it, as performance is not changing, and it is fine. If he is soon having some problem then I will tell you of this, but it is now looking fine. Why are you being wary over this one, when it is happening to thousands of PC's now? Regards for you. Soviet:rolleyes:
  24. Hi gadgetman, You will be needing to distract your cats habits, and so buy a budgie bird, and his interest will be total, as he is thinking that dinner will be served soon. Soviet:thumbup:
  25. Hi PittVRS, It will not be a problem or should not be, if every one is doing the work that is being paid for correctly. Why are they having the problem with the symbols that are worn here? Many people are wearing designer clothing, with the logo emblems, and so why are these not to be banned also, I ask here? A badge is being a badge, and is nothing more than the decoration of the person. The supervisors are seeming to be very juvenile ones, and silly. Best of luck for you. Soviet:thumbup:
