  1. They are based in Wolverhampton so not just a nip up the road for me to get this checked out Thanks for the input guys and although the remap was done at the beginning of summer so sometime ago i still think its worth firing off an email to Will just to see what he says, after all £275 is £275 and from whats been said here it would seem that somethings not quite right
  2. I got one of the budget cables from ebay and this is all you can do with it which is handy cos thats all i wanted it to do Apart from that you cant do much else as it wont talk to the car if you try anything else at all
  3. A little over standard after the remap yes but not a great difference until i get to third this is where it does start to pick up and like i said its most noticeable in fourth and fifth These gearboxes dont seem to want to go too fast till you get to third anyway this is why i didnt question it but you think i should be seeing as much difference right through all the gears then ?
  4. I had mine done by Will at P Torque Matt and was pleased with the outcome It was just the generic map which made it smoother but the noticeable difference with mine was the power delivery in fourth and fifth which gives it a real kick when you boot it Looking back i think i would have gone for a custom map instead so i could choose to have more torque in second and third gears too but i suppose its down to preferences All in all though im very happy with the generic map Will did for me and he does know his stuff so i will go back to him when i get my next skoda
  5. MONEY and lots of it ! oh and a bit of knowledge or a good performance garage eh Lee
  6. Ive got two front octavia seats here with the height adjustment levers intact dont know if there the same as the fabia though Ive not tried removing one not even looked at it to be honest but if they come off easily enough and its the same your welcome to one
  7. You would probably be better off asking in items wanted here BRISKODA - items wanted It wont be cheap unless you get very lucky, i was quoted between £900 & £1200 just for a used TDI lump and £600 for a block and bottom end Good luck though hope you get sorted
  8. Yep no problem copying to disk either What software are you using to copy
  9. Fantastic find very useful indeed Good work that man
  10. I looked at the same one on ebay and considered making a purchase so would be very interested in your opinion once you have it fitted as i still like the idea
  11. I paid £380 for mine that was a set of five (in ex cond) which came with five near new tyres and a spare part worn which still had plenty of life left in it As far as im concerned it was a result.... just had to drive a fair way to get them
  12. £200 sounds about right to buy the kit and water pump i was quoted £180 just for the belt kit
  13. Improving on performance you dont have to look any further than here there are hundreds of threads covering all sorts of improvements you can make which wont be covered at all in the service manual Is it the original service manual that came with your car your looking for or just a general maintainance guide ? If its the later pick up a haynes manual as it covers all the routine stuff you need to do plus so much more its worth having for reference anyway
  14. In the past ive purchased various parts for mine from my local VW dealer as its closer to me than skoda and in some cases has been cheaper too
  15. Mmmm don't know either as far as im aware these are the ones you can pick up at any main dealer for free unless anyone else knows different If it sells it will just go to prove what many have said for years "you can sell anything on ebay"
  16. If you don't mind me asking Jason how much in total was it to get that Does it come as a complete kit (all you need) or is the blanking kit extra Cheers
  17. Indeed it was Stu and that wasn't all of it, i think about a third again i had already thrown out this was just out of the manifold I would of liked to have done the head side as well but only had a weekend to get it all stripped and done But on a positive note after cleaning out the turbo it instantly got rid of the problem i came to see you about if you remember, the turbo veins had so little movement im surprised it was working at all Well worth the effort and i would recommend anyone with a TDI thats a few years old to do the same if you have the know how, it was like driving a different car
  18. Yep mines exactly the same just to confirm what's already been said
  19. I cleaned my EGR and inlet manifold out a while back and the difference was amazing Before cleaning pics After cleaning The crap that came out I also took the time to clean out the turbo while i was at it which made even more difference to performance and got rid of limp mode at 3000 rpm Carb cleaner didn't shift any of it so i soaked it in diesel overnight which helped a little the rest was just elbow grease with care I was going to do a write up covering the whole procedure but as there`s already a few about if you search for them i didn't bother, but if you have any questions Danv6saxo ill be glad to answer them if i can I do like the idea of removing the EGR altogether will look into that
  20. That is truly horrible especially the front and how f**kin much  looks worse after visiting the specsavers link can you imagine spending that amount of cash to make your car look like that noooooo

  22. The reverse light switch is located on the gearbox on the octy`s With the bonnet up its to the front of the car and iirc will have the only electrical wire that goes to that side of the box Very easy and cheap to change just a matter of unbolting the old and replacing it with the new one If the wires not connected that's your problem just plug it back in ive had this happen with mine, also worth having a look at the relevant fuse which i believe is F7 which also operates the parking sensors
  23. Yep sure does thanks Trev as im not that far from Essex so ill look up haward and scott im more interested in the decat than a straight though i think... not sure yet so ill have to consider carefully before committing it to the next job on the list methinks
  24. Have you done this yet Stu ? if so i would be interested to know what the outcome was Good idea or complete fur cup ?
