So since i'm off work and bored of things to do i thought i'd weigh the car to see how much difference the 2 litre, turbo, manifold, meth etc would add to the weight of the car. how much fuel was in it Last time i weighed the 1.6 with the full interior and just over half a tank it weighed in at 1268kg 2.0 weighed in at 1255kg so 13kg lighter than the 1.6 was interestingly more of the front weight now on the right rather than the left Also went out with a friend that has a modified 1.8 polo gti to see how it compared. All done in mexico

seeing what all these 100-200 runs are like in mexico, 2 up boot full of stuff including the clutch and a full tank, backfire on the gearchange which was interesting and slight air at 160..... and more of the hardcut

So looking over some of the data here's 3 of the fastest runs the car has did at different places 15.5 when the 1.6 was at the pod a couple of years back blue line 14.2 this time at pod with the 2.0 red 13.9 at crail orange The 1.6 is faster in first and at the start of second till around 40mph which is expected with less torque therefore more traction until the 2.0 gets itself sorted and takes off. You can also see that the orange on the speed over time graph that the crail was the lowest due to the wheelspin as well even with slipping the clutch alot at pod so the clutch would grip. What was interesting i thought was that at 70mph/ 300ft out the crail run then becomes faster than the pod run. Ran through all the datalogs from both runs that i took on vcds, pod intake temp was only 1 degree higher, boost on both was 2.3 bar. Crail did have a slightly high max rpm at 5548rpm compared to 5297rpm at pod which i would put down to it bouncing off the limiter spining the wheels. Only thing i can narrow it down to was the head wind at pod which was 20mph if i remember looking at the weather app. Wonder if it could have been a good 13 second run. Thought it was interesting to share.

So at Crail last time on the last run the clutch slipped on the 3-4 change, did the same going home but was fine ever since but made the decision that i would need to look at a clutch upgrade so made the trip down to darkside to get some parts of the map tweaked and also pick up a new clutch while i was there so went for the best one i can get for this box the sachs SRE paddle clutch. Arrived at Darkside at 11:30am and with them closing at 3pm thought we'd have plenty of time to sort it out. Darkside being the great mappers they are Martus that was working on the map actually stayed till 9pm to get it just right, also got a powergate as well so mean the maps can be done remotely now as well Being down that way noticed that Santa Pod's last RWYB was the next day and still some hotel rooms nearby for only £30 so thought why not so headed down got to the hotel for 1am after stopping off on the way to help another member with their Fabia Headed off the next morning some ran in the morning so track didn't open till 12:30 So the runs Haven't been to the pod for 3 years and lined up for the first run, first launch and wheelspin, went to 2nd wheelspin again which i didn't expect, into 3rd and it revved up, thats not wheelspin thats clutch slip, lifted and went onto the throttle again still slipping, into 4th still slipped. still got a 15.5 @80mph only .1 slower than the fastest time i ever got in the 1.6 In car isn't very good as in my lane someone in front blew a diff so had to move the camera but the app on my phone wasnt working so couldnt see what the view was on the return road everything was fine but had to make a choice, do i attempt more runs or call it quits and head home as thats a 6 hour 400 mile drive. Made the choice to do another room but this time really slip the clutch on the launch and see how it reacts, really slow launch but once into 2nd full throttle, into 3rd and ht the meth no slip at all and managed a 14.6 @101mph incar 3rd run i thought i'd come off the clutch quicker with the meth on all the way through but still slip it abit more at the start, again got the power down when i got into 2nd and down to a 14.2 @ 103mph incar with data sitting in the queue thinking ok one more run this time alot more aggressive launch and see how it holds, waiting in the line it started raining and this time they called it off and ended the day short. Possibly lucky for me. packed the car up and it made it all the way home. red run1 with clutch slip, blue run 2, orange run 3 So think that's me for the rest of the year with events with everything thats going on, just some maintance and new parts over the winter for next year now.

Well crail again today, annoyed that the last 2 days i went i ran exactly the same time of 14.010 i was determined to get into the 13's so again car was stripped out, meth filled up and also spoke to jeff at trackstuff for some VP racing Race diesel. Weirdly enough fuel economy actually interested using race fuel Cold day so no temp in the ground so again struggled with wheel spin. race 1 against polo gti Race 2 against a friends swift, i said i'd give him a head start to the 60ft Race 3 against a Fabia vRS Race 4 against an Ibiza Cupra Race 5 against a friends stage 1 mapped 3 Litre A5 TDI Quattro Race 6 was a bye run, thought i'd try a 2nd gear launch and it just bogged and lost all boost as you can see in the logs Race 7 against a BMW M5, know i was going to get beat but launching it noticed he had a worse one than me and was just in a cloud of tyre smoke, thought i could maybe get a gap on him and he might not be able to run me down but went into 2nd and had absolutely nothing, almost like it was in limp mode and you can see from the curve on the graph what i was like compared to how sharp a normal run is, sadly he caught me. race 8 against a R32 GTR Race 9 MK5 Golf GTi Race 10 Mk7 Stage 3 Golf GTi Best races were against this Evo X had 2 against him Missed 2nd in this race and tried to run him down

It’s something to do with the auto lights kit. I’ve seen it do the same with a vw up switch

This is what they said back then they then went on to claim it was coming from the ecu and it went down hill from there till they stopped replying 😂 only thing I’ve found that will give it correctly is vcds.

Nope boost is calculated had this argument with the app developers a couple of years back.

It’s not accurate.
-
Turbo Swap Choices for EA211 1.2 TSI
That doesn’t take the actual boost from the sensor it’s a calculated measure on the app not actual.
