  1. Hi all , so my front right loses pressure over a month or so , think I may have a dodgy alloy , anyway this triggers the tpms , usually I just top up the air and re set the system , this time it won’t re set , just say unable to each time and light stays on , likely to be the sensor? And the sensor on that specific wheel? , are the sensors inside the tyre on the Octavia’s ? Many thanks
  2. I don’t know the name , they just said it’s easier and cheaper for the customers , and this is a main vw garage that’s been in business for 30 years +
  3. Chatting with my local vw garage who serviced the dsg two months ago , he said it’s rare much goes wrong with a dsg but if it does , they use a firm in Bristol who recondition the dsg plus clutches and dmf for £2800
  4. Yes I’m def getting mounts checked , it’s weird as it’s worse when cold and car been standing for 3 or 4 days , when up to temperature it’s a lovely drive
  5. Hi all , sadly I have a feeling I may soon need the dmf and maybe clutches done on my 15 plate dsg 6 speed Octavia , getting a lot of vibration while stationary and through lower gears especially when cold but generally all times . Can feel it through seat and steering at idle unless you very slightly pick the revs up Anyway been trying to find rough cost or part , put my reg in and part and they keep showing me clutches and dmf for manual six speed and not the dsg which I believe has two clutches Guessing I’m looking at a grand if I can find a competent local garage that can do it and a lot more vw/skoda??? Any advice gratefully recieved , of course I could be completely wrong and the vibration normal for these dsg cars?? It’s my first one

  7. I have a vibration through the steering especially at low revs , everything sounds fine with bonnet down but when open there’s a horrible noise grinding/ clicking that comes from behind the engine cover at the top , car runs perfectly and no warning lights , did a video below F3343290-6D2F-48BB-A525-3C0E7965E1DA.mov
  8. Hi all, can’t find any really up to date info , who’s fitted sill guards on their Octavia ? I’d like some , the plain black ones are ok and affordable but the nicer ones at nearly 100 quid seem a bit expensive and they want you to buy a fitting template , anyone know of good aftermarket ones ?
  9. Hi all , had my 15 plate Octavia dsg for about 6 weeks now , love love love it but having never owned an auto before , I’ve been wondering , if your say in the fast lane on a motorway and the car suddenly cuts out , what happens?? What do you do? In a manual you can naturally put your foot on the clutch to keep rolling , I’m guessing in an auto you put it in N and try and coast to the hard shoulder?? Thanks
  10. Just bought a 15 plate Octavia with 17” teron alloys , when I looked in the boot it had a horrible looking 15” steel spare wheel , I complained so the guy swapped it for another steel spare from an estate Octavia , this one is 16” , I’ve no idea what size steel is supposed to be with the car but guessing a 16” with a 55 profile tyre would be fairly close to a 17” with 45 tyre on? I was going to purchase a used 17” teron as a spare but now reading it won’t fit in the boot?
  11. Contacted Marshall Skoda local to me , they ran a check and turns out the car did have a dsg service at Skoda , is due again but is thankfully up to date , they don’t know why it was not on the service print out though
  12. Been and bought a different one, blue 2 owner full history 15 plate with 100k, drives like a dream , immaculate inside and out although no obvious record of dsg service , id never driven an auto before but was amazed , can hardly tell when it changed gear , will have to look into getting it done though for piece of mind
  13. Hi guys , so today,I bought a fabulous 2015 2.0 Octavia dsg , everything on it perfect and sits on 17” wheels , one thing let it down , someone has shoved a 15” rusted steel wheel in the boot , garage said they will replace it but question is , what should it have?? A space saver or full blown alloy to match or I guess even a 17” steel ? And for future reference tyre wise , it sits on fairly low profile tyres , can you put larger profile tyres on?? Save on potential punctures from our outstanding roads Thx
  14. I’ve not been to see it yet , the dealer is being an idiot which is putting me off , he said his firm had done belt , pump and dsg service but they’ve had it since March , lmsmotors1982 on eBay , black one with 83k on the clock , drive straight , my current one never has in 7 years even with loads spent on alignment, all I seem to see on mot’s of car I want to see is tyres worn on the edge , hate buying cars , total mine field
  15. Yay thanks for everyone’s wisdom and advice lol lol
