I've seen a few low quality pictures on Google. They look very...well...black...just wondered what they were like in real life. Anyone got any decent exposure pictures on White? I've got a dealer visit on Monday so will take a look to see if they have any examples on the forecourt. Any feedback on what they are like to live with would be appreciated also (irrespective of what colour car they are on!)

Anyone fitted Black Turini wheels to their White vRS? I'm looking for some in the flesh pictures, if possible?

I've not driven in Italy, but I've found the same in France. Often a short entry slip road turns into a short exit road, sometimes starting and ending with a tight bend.

Mine reacts very quickly and I haven't had any flashes to indicate it's annoyed anyone. Sometimes I'd like it to kick in at lower speeds (travelling on single lane through Wooded area), but other than that, I think it's a good system.

You are correct. What compounded the issue is I could have very easily and safely joined the A34, as the traffic was relatively free flowing. However my hesitant friend in the Honda wasn't so sure, which caused me concern!

Joining the Southbound A34 this evening (dark, 5pm) via a short slip road (Bullington, if anyone is familiar). The slip road starts off a mini roundabout, with an immediate sharp left before the shortish slip road. Traffic was quite heavy but moving freely. Towards the end of the slip road was a Honda CRV, stationary, but indicating to join the carriageway. Traffic had enough gaps for me to join, but I didn't want to join the carriageway accelerating up to speed, with the chance that the CRV would jump out in front of me causing me to jump on the brakes in front of fast moving traffic. So I stopped on the slip way, leaving a decent gap behind the CRV. After what seemed an eternity, the Honda joined the carriageway and I was grateful I had 220 horses under the vRS' bonnet so I could get up to speed quickly! No incident, everyone safe and I consoled myself with a curse to the hesitant driver. I have to admit I hesitated too while waiting for the car in front to decide. So I had a couple of stop starts myself as the Honda dithered. I was concerned that someone else on the slip road might overtake me while I was at a halt. Thankfully, all is well. I'd appreciate any feedback on what you would do in the same situation..

First incident in the new Octy :thumbdown: Piled the boot up with PA gear for a band practice. Loads of room in the cavernous boot In fact with the back seats up, it's more usable than my old Estate as I had to take the variable floor out if I wanted to make use of all it's space. Anyway, closed down the hatch and had to open again. Somehow, the parcel shelf support chord on one side must have got tangled around the small plastic peg on the plastic trim around the hatch window. Peg nowhere to be seen. Luckily the hole in the trim is not damaged. I'm hoping my dealers will hold them in stock and they'll be really cheap to replace, however if anyone knows anything different, I'd rather be forewarned!!

The Octy has been the most suitable car for my needs for my last two cars. I simply didn't fancy anything else on the market that was within my requirements. The Mkii Diesel Estate ticked all my Work and Family requirements a the time. The Petrol vRS Hatch suits all my requirements 6 Years down the line. For looks, space, price, performance, image, it suits my needs, which makes things pretty simple! Anything else inside or outside the VAG Family just doesn't really appeal to me that much.

Coming from a Mkii Diesel Estate (2.0l) I was nailed on for a vRS Diesel Estate. I'd got used to diesel driving and having test driven a Mkiii diesel vRS, I was impressed with the engine, which was a bit more linear in its power progression that my old diesel lump. I ended up buying a Petrol Hatch, simply because a Diesel I had planned to test drive didn't turn up at the dealers, so, with a bit of time to kill I had a drive in what turned out to be my new car (it's a hatch too,so my original plans went right out the window) I'm down on average 12-16 mpg on fill ups, but the Petrol engine is so nice and refined. It's also really easy to pootle along using the torque to pull you along, very similar to laid back Diesel driving. Whatever decision you make, enjoy your choice!

It's reasonable for anyone who's spent a lot of money on their Car to have concerns over new technology that might possibly cause expensive mechanical issues in the future.

I had a tyre pressure warning come up this morning and aside from the amber light on the dash, a warning was also shown in the 'vehicle' menu on the maxidot.

It's on the tip of my tongue! I'll ponder it while I eat my beans..

I think the badge is part of the actual grille. I'm not sure that approach will work, but let me know if it's successful.

How are you going to deal with the grille badge?

Do standard Octavia mud flaps fit the vRS? The ones on www.theskodashop.co.uk state they are not for the vRS?

I reckon anyone of the mind to race anyone else on the road would pick up the twin exhausts before the vRS badge. I quite like the small splash of colour on the vRS badge against my White paint. The clean look is nice, so why not, if you fancy it (I assume you don't have 230 splashed down the sides - that would soon go if it were mine).

There's a menu select for an audible locking 'plip'.

Yes, that is an option, but needs the ignition to be on to work. My previous Octavia folded the mirrors if I held down the lock button for a few seconds. There is a menu option in the mark 3 to close the mirrors every time the car is locked, but seemingly not an option for mirrors to fold by using the key fob. Not a biggy, I admit...
