Maxton side skirts
It isn’t. The fit the non vRS cars too. Only the bumpers are different.

Removing tailgate 'opening handle' from tailgate.
Don’t want to rain on the parade but mine came today and it doesn’t work with the iPhone, mines not the only one so I’m waiting on Voltas support to get to the route cause. I’ll be trying it on an Android device tomorrow. Just want to warn you that some of them aren’t connecting right now. Hopefully it’ll be sorted ASAP. Never had an issue with my first gen one.

Sasha’s Octavia vRS
Thanks. As it happens it’s not the level sensor that’s the culprit. It appears to be dataset related but my VAS has packed in so I’m waiting on a new one before I can try and get to the root cause of the issue. So please enjoy a nice side shot Saturday instead.

Removing tailgate 'opening handle' from tailgate.
Yes you can backup with OBDEleven. My next gen dongle arrived today so I can finally use it with my iPhone!!!! Yey!

Removing tailgate 'opening handle' from tailgate.
You don’t need to do all the clips, just the 2-3 you can reach and apply plenty of pressure and it’ll pop out. The A post trim needs a good pull, there are 3 clips. Once it’s released it needs to be slid up and can be removed but I find if you have a tool to shove the cable under the trim it doesn’t need removing.

Retrofitting Proper Reverse Mirror Dip (Almost)
Yeah if you use a drivers side one you need to swap the polarity over. I did this on mine and it’s just a swap over of the 2 wires that control whichever direction is wrong. In my case the whole thing was out 90 degrees for each movement of the switch as I used the loom from a driver side mirror (don’t ask) so I had to do 4 wires but it’s easy enough to sort.

Passenger mirror dip in reverse - sorted
What about side mirrors? There are several combinations of mirrors not including those with side assist 6 pins standard electric heated 9 pins electric heated and folding with puddle lights 11 pins auto dimming electric heated and folding with puddle lights 15 pins memory electric heated and folding with puddle lights You can code mirror drop for any car but on anything less than the 15 pin mirrors, the dip can’t be set, it just drops a little bit.

Passenger mirror dip in reverse - sorted
Do you have auto dimming mirrors? Can you set the drop? Cars with auto dimming mirrors often came with memory motors in them even without the seats. One of the strange option combo’s these cars came with.

Passenger mirror dip in reverse - sorted
Just to let you know, unfortunately this won’t work. The standard mirror motors on the Octy have 3 pins in them, one for left/right, one for up/down and one for ground. No memory function. To make this work you need the 7 pin motor with directional control memory. I am building one now for someone and I have one in my car. This is the only way to get this to work as the standard hardware isn’t there for it on these cars. It’ll dip just with coding but it has no way to be set or remember the previous position. 7 pin motors aren’t expensive and I can provide a WD and pin layout.

I messed up and used an App
Nothing jumping out at me yet, thought the Byte 6 value could be it as that’s the byte for flashing brake lights but mine was 47 on the old BCM and so is yours and the adaptations aren’t screaming at me but I’ll keep looking.

Smartlink - worthwhile or worthless?
Yeah it is, but you need SmartLink to get AA on the radio screen and unlike AA, CarPlay on iPhone isn’t native on the screen at all, you need a radio for it. One thing I wish they would change so if you have a single din radio or older car you can have CarPlay on the phone screen!!!

Will have a look and let you know what needs changing.

A backup of 09 Central Electronics will do it. If you type OBDEleven backup into YouTube there is a video showing how to do it.

VCDS coding for 2020 Octavia 3
It can, it’s not technically within the terms of the warranty but it would be rare to hear of a claim being rejected, my local dealer did warranty work on my Dad’s car with half the dash panels missing as I was doing a retrofit but I would say that’s unusual as I have a good relationship with my local dealer. I’m in North Wales which is a bit far from you but if you can’t find anyone else to help please let me know and I can sort you out and code whatever you want me to.

I messed up and used an App
Scan the car and post it up and I’ll compare it to mine. You will need the PRO pack to make long coding changes but it’s worth it to avoid this problem.

Remove and refit Amundsen screen - CP?
The screen isn’t CP monitored anyway, only the radio and yes you can unplug and plug it in as much as you want as the CP is tied to the car. It knows when the correct radio is plugged in so it’ll be fine.
- How to get mirrorlink/android auto working on mib1?

Retrofitting a reversing camera.
You need one with the Voice commands.

Octavia Scout
That’s a pretty low mileage for an NHS fleet car that’s over 5 years old. My 14 plate vRS is nearly on 130k now. Check the cambelt has been changed as it’s overdue by age and mileage now if it’s not been done. The EA288 has 3 water pumps, the 2 electric ones are known to fail.

Front strut brace
Will tell you when mine arrives. Strut brace UK are the people to go to but I suspect they will be busy for a while as mine is coming from a group buy that took about 60 orders and they are being made now. They are good vfm.

Finally got my Octy 4x4 vRS TDi remapped!
Even then though, mine pulled 176 on another dyno and the darkside dyno is known to pull a low figure. VAG must have worked wonders on the engine firmware in recent years.

Finally got my Octy 4x4 vRS TDi remapped!
Pipe that connects the charge cooler (what these engines use instead of an intercooler) to the turbo. They do a larger diameter metal one, wondering if you had it as that’s the best stage 1 result I’ve ever seen from an EA288 on the Darkside dyno.

Finally got my Octy 4x4 vRS TDi remapped!
Is that with the charge pipe they do as well? 192 is a very impressive standard figure, mine ran nowhere near that, on another dyno ofc.

Lowering springs
Axle weight is the issue, you need 28833-2 for a FWD diesel and 28833-1 for a petrol. The car will sit higher at the back with the 28833-3’s but they might fit.

Lowering springs
They are the bump stops for the struts on the front. That’s all that should be in the box.
