  1. Check your boot handle, if it is a perfect rectangle you can use any camera that is in a 112x48mm handle with the correct dataset on it so on the blue car there I used a 5E5827566G handle and the green car had a boot handle with curves on the outer edge which needs a Kodiaq handle, 566054634A. Unfortunately I’m not planning to come to Jersey but if you don’t have VCP yourself make sure the correct dataset has been loaded onto the camera you order. Both part numbers above are Highline with washer.
  2. The Dragon Green car was also built post week 15 2018 and has MIB2.5 Columbus. Highline has guidance lines, Lowline doesn’t. Boot handle is a different shape, it’s the same as the Kodiaq but it’s possible, as you can see above. I have done several Superb’s now and have more booked in.
  3. To be clear, all UK spec Superb’s can be fitted with rear cameras. All of them. Don’t listen to Skoda dealers, they know nothing. Owner of this car had 2 dealers say it couldn’t be done for different reasons and I heard the same story last week too. Both cars fitted with Highline camera and washer...
  4. Top tailgate trim has to come off and lower trim ofc to get there and if you look into the boot through one of the trim holes about 2/3rds of the way to the right of the car you’ll see it but it’s hard to see. Don’t try and take the brake light out, will break it. I can’t get a pic as I don’t own a Superb and I didn’t think to take one and it’s nigh on impossible to see anyway.
  5. Hatch or Estate? On the Estate it’s in the high level brake light. It’s a fiddly job but I insert a small tool onto the hole used to attach the trim and use that to unclip the washer connection and join the new piece to the camera with a splitter. Hatch may well be the same but I’m not sure. On the Octy hatch it’s in the wiper itself so the Superb may be the same. If you don’t have a rear wiper it’s pipework from front to back unfortunately.
  6. This one was a OEM Highline one with washer and these are £399 fitted.
  7. Pop a picture of the menu screen up. Grid option should be in all MIB2.5’s
  8. The retractable blind. On some Superb’s it was a cheap option or standard on the high spec ones at some point for the shelf to retract to the halfway point when the boot is opened. There are little clips in the track that release when the boot is open and a menu in the radio so I’m hunting down those little clips and the associated plugs and I imagine I’m going to need to look carefully in 09 and 5F for adaptations for the menu in the radio and then a WD from ETKA. Shame I’ve lost the scan from the car above but hopefully someone will be kind enough to post one for me to pore over.
  9. Hi everyone, I’m back from the Octavia section and I’ve been fitting reverse cameras to a few Superb’s lately and I love the auto retract parcel shelf because I’m literally too lazy to open the shelf myself when the boot powers open. To that end I thought I’d take a scan from the last car I had in but my wife has accidentally deleted it somehow! So I’m wondering if any of you lovely Superb owners, preferably with a 2017 model or newer and with this option fitted could do me a huge favour and send me an autoscan of the car (with VIN blanked out if needed) so I can see what channels I need to sort to get the menu up in the radio and then I’ll get a WD and see if I can put this in the Octy. Thanks everyone! And for some Superb content, check out the car I had in for a camera fitting earlier in the week. What a beauty!
  10. A full size spare doesn’t quite fit right, it will make the carpet sit a bit proud. It’s not built for a full size spare and honestly, a spare saver is better than nothing and it won’t affect how the carpet sits.
  11. Yeah it is, the later buttons are just white backlit and you loose the source button. No biggie.
  12. You need to change the motor for a 7 pin one to make it work. You can run the coding but it won’t remember the position it was last in nor can it be set.
  13. In the personalisation settings, set the keys to manual and assign them to each profile.
  14. As above no coding needed, just swap like for like. If you have a 4 spoke wheel though and you want a 3 spoke one please be aware you will likely need a new airbag too.
  15. Just replace the wheel and MFSW buttons with a wheel with the shifters on that has buttons to match. Job done
  16. Spent the day trying to beat the heat and straightened the sagging right side skirt, which will never be perfect as the jack point is caved in but it’s much better now and cut the mudflaps to put back on with them. Should cut down on the spray up the sides. When it cools down again it needs a wash, but for now I’m much happier.
  17. I’ve replied via PM, I used the Audi S3 8P parts and it works perfectly
  18. Yes and no. Interior and electrical has changed a whole lot, the only thing inside that you touch that hasn’t been changed is the headlight switch haha, everything else has been changed! If you are on Android it doesn’t really matter but the next gen dongle will likely be updated for longer. If you are on iOS you need the new one. I have it and I love it. You need the PRO pack to do long coding but that’s just a software download. Mine hasn’t done this, there is a bit of latency but otherwise it’s been flawless.
  19. Unusual, certainly in the UK, they never supplied cars with folding mirrors without puddle lights but if you have 5Q4959592x and 5Q4959593x door controllers you will be able to code them, you need to run the power wire to Pin 1 and the ground you can join to the indicator ground wire and then do the coding in the door controllers. That’s it. You can cut the lower portion of the cap as it is stamped out but it’s better to buy them pre cut.
  20. Electric handbrake with auto hold would be right at the top of my list!!! I’d do the retrofit but I cba making a custom centre console to put the button in. Otherwise my car is fine for what I want to do with it but mine is hardly standard anymore and has every tech extra from the MY20 cars so yeah, wouldn’t worry about anything else on a car in this segment. My next car won’t be a car in this segment as I want to try something else.
  21. Presumably not power folding mirrors as they should be standard with those. You can do it 2 ways, one by taking the feed from the door exit lights so they come on when the door is opened or the ‘right’ way but that requires Highline door controllers and the pin running to those controllers in the correct place plus the ground taken to the indicator light ground and then the coding.
  22. Any USB hub will do and you make the wiring loom to a switched 12V source in the fusebox. Any donor VW USB will do, 5Q0035724E was the one I used because I had it but you can use the case from your current USB if you are in a pinch.
  23. This is possible, I’ve done it to my car and for another member. You need a donor VW USB and you can either use a VW USB hub for this and add as a source in the radio or you can do as I have done and build a USB that goes in the socket to charge with a donor VW USB and a USB hub from Amazon. Cut the insulation off the Amazon USB, put it inside the VW USB case, run it to the fusebox for power, hide the CarPlay dongle behind the A/C trim. Job done
  24. This retro is quite simple, but the mounting of the RLHS on the screen is going to be a challenging without the correct windscreen but not impossible. All you’ll need to do if you have the humidity sensor is replace that with the RLHS, add the Auto trigger wire from Pin 2 of the light switch to Pin 16 Connector C of the BCM. Give yourself about 2 meters of cable and you’ll be fine. Coding wise there won’t be coding for auto lights and wipers per say, but there is coding to do if you want to disable the auto wiping in the radio menu and coding for CH/LH lights which I can help you with. I can send you a scan of my car that has it active. I have an FL BCM in my car so it’ll match up but mine is a High model and the SE is likely to be the Mid one so I’ll have more options but the coding relevant to the Comfort Illumination will be the same.
  25. Almost but not quite. CANTON centre speaker is coming as the pins are now active for that but will probably use the SEAT SOUND/Audi Sound System subwoofer without amp for easy fitting and a bit of boost. Just waiting on parts now.
