  1. Exactly that Yes, as long as the Octavia has the bigger boot handle I don’t quote to supply only unfortunately, there would be no money in it for me so if you want a handle with washer you will need an OEM one for which I recommend vwmodul.de direct or via eBay.
  2. https://a.aliexpress.com/_B1opWf I get loads at a time so you get some decent discount for that. Seller is reliable and packing is very good.
  3. The supplier I get them from has 3 different handles for various applications so I’m used to defaulting to each handle type. Not sure how it does it, but they are plug and play, I’ve fitted 6 of them now.
  4. Honestly it can be disregarded, no other looms have it, they only need 4 pins populated, power, ground and CAN hi and lo, that’s all they need. Just coding now and you’ll be done
  5. Do you have a manual car and is it an OEM camera? For engine sound that’s going to need a new CAN Gateway, it’s not a radio thing so if you want the soundaktor off you’ll need to code it off.
  6. You need MQB Handle A and these cameras require no coding
  7. Yeah they always do. I have had 2 cameras sent with Kufatec cables and to start with every wire is white which is just stupid as the printing on the cables may fade, and you can’t trace wires at a glance and of the 2 one came with a faulty video cable and the other came with half the terminals hanging off as they hadn’t been crimped properly. Their support is also shocking, no recourse at all unless you buy direct (fair enough I suppose) but I bought my power boot loom direct from them and the amount of issues I had was unreal, took 3 weeks to sort and it was only resolved by me paying for VAG wiring diagrams and correcting their mistakes. I would have the Chinese looms off AliExpress before a Kufatec one. I refuse to take cameras with Kufatec cables now for the above reasons as well as the tightness of not supplying the TE Connectivity splitter connections which, again, come with the AliExpress cables at a quarter of the price. And Pin 1 isn’t used, no idea why they fit it.
  8. I assume you have a Kufatec loom if you have the spare pin 1 wire. You will need to make a splitter connection (I make them with TE-Connectivity parts as per factory) or you can strip and splice but I wouldn’t. It’s the performance bus for the CAN to the radio, does the angles of the guidelines. Good luck with it, Kufatec cables are utter rubbish, I would never buy from them again.
  9. Yeah those are good cameras as long as you double check handle size
  10. If you want one with a washer only OEM ones are available and they need to be bought with the parameter file loaded onto them unless you have VCP. Few people on eBay sell them or I can sort a price for supply and fit should you want that
  11. Yeah it is. I don’t pretend to know what it is, but it’s not activated on the FL cars like it is on the PFL but once you make those changes they work
  12. That’s normal, it’s not very loud.
  13. Not sure why, did 2 facelift cars with this coding just last week. See what bits it does accept and take it from there. Might work without every box being ticked.
  14. Not all facelift lights are missing the extra fog, mine have the fogs on both sides. Yeah, on the Skoda’s you need a memory mirror motor and they only fitted those with power seats. You can get them though so it’s possible to retrofit.
  15. It’s a very slim list at this point 🤷‍♀️
  16. Only the facelift Octy has ambient lighting and only the vRS and L&K have it as standard. SportLine and L&K Superb’s also have it as standard but pre MY17 Superb’s only have 3 colours, later cars and all Octy’s that have it have 10 colours. Mine has 30 but that’s via firmware flash and coding
  17. The sticky here is for PFL only, it’s not been updated for FL. Mirror drop will never work without a memory mirror so don’t bother with that unless you have a 7 pin memory motor which was never standard without electric seats. Dual rear fog coding is the same as PFL and will work unless you are double unlucky and you have a cluster that doesn’t have the LED strip installed. Cornering lights for FL non vRS are as follows Alarm chirp is as follows 1 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347) 2 - Adaptation 3 - Signs response 4 - Sub - Akustische rueckmeldungentriegeln --- On 5 - Sub - Akustische rueckmeldungverriegeln --- On 6 - Sub - Global rueckmeldung --- On Akustische 7 - Sub - Akustische rueckmeldungSignalhorn --- On 8 - Sub - Menuesteuerung Akustischerueckmeldung --- On (On Screen Display) 9 - Sub - Dauer der vom akustischenrueckmeldung einfachhorn --- Normal (No alarm) or Kurz (with alarm)
  18. As above needs CP removal and FeC reactivation, contact Pawel (Pab567) and he’ll sort you right out
  19. That’s a MIB1, need a MIB2 radio and screen for SmartLink unfortunately.
  20. Whereas my factory 184 has never beaten 50MPG and has a measured long term average over the last nearly 3 years and 70k miles of 41.3MPG and my stock figures are lower than those mapped ones.
  21. Personally (and I’m not alone in this) I think that the 150 has superior mapping to the 184 and 190 TDI’s. Something about the 150 map seems to make them just as sprightly as the more powerful engines most of the time and I have found the 150’s I’ve driven to be smoother and considerably more fuel efficient than the more powerful ones so on that basis, for me I would be seeking out a 150 over a 190 as I would imagine a mapped 150 would be a far superior car than a 190. If the AWD isn’t 100% necessary (I would argue in this country it’s never necessary, but desirable especially if used as a towing car for the extra weight) and it needs to be a diesel, then I would seek out a 150 over a 190 but that’s only my personal experience.
  22. The SE-L trim matches up to the Elegance but if you have the Columbus DAB and you use the rSAP BT and WiFi connection this has been dropped unless you have the 4G data SIM equipped radio but otherwise the SE-L is pretty much the same spec for spec except the addition of ACC and a few other things. The 190 TDI is the more powerful one but having driven the 150 and 190 I could hardly tell the difference in normal driving. The 150 was a brand new car though with the DQ381 7 speed DSG where the 190 was a near 5 year old one with about 60k and the 6 speed DQ250.
  23. So the time has come to seriously consider moving the Octy on and I have my heart set on a Dragon Green Superb SportLine Plus just like this one I drove at my local dealer... But this one is just too expensive for what it is and I don’t really want a new car, used is better for me as I void warranties. I can find 7 Dragon Green Superb’s for sale in the UK right now A 2017 1.4 TSI DSG SportLine which is a good contender but it’s missing the lane assist and heated screen (can retrofit those but £££) and it’s a MY17 so MIB2 Columbus not MIB2.5 so more £ in retrofits but it’s now £16,500 and I’d be after taking more off that. A 2017 2.0 TSI 280 DSG 4x4 which is a private sale and missing a lot of spec (but has loads of options, just not the ones I want) which I’ve written off for both the reasons above at £16,995 A 2017 2.0 TDI 150 DSG SportLine which has no spec so that’s been written off already and is £17,500. A 2020 1.5 TSI DSG SportLine which also has no spec but it does have a VC, written off at £22,500. The one in the pictures, a brand new, unregistered MY19 2.0 TSI 220 SportLine Plus with CANTON, Lane Assist and BLIS and the price is £30,000 but it’s eligible for £4000 deposit contribution etc as it’s unregistered but only until end of the day tomorrow. A 2020 FL 2.0 TDI 190 DSG 4x4 Estate (which I would sort of prefer) which is perfect spec wise, has the heated screen, all the options I want and is £33,500. A 2020 FL 2.0 272 TSI DSG 4x4 Estate which is also perfect option wise and some but is a whopping £40,500. I have found past adverts from the start of the year for cars much cheaper than these so I’m just wondering what the hell is up with them?? I’d have thought now would be a great time to bag a deal but I’m just not finding any really good deals. I quite like the 1.4 as it has the best spec and price all round and room to retrofit items but it’s only a 1.4. If it was a 2.0 I’d be much more interested. I think another £1000 off and I’d be there. Can’t see that happening though. Can anyone else find one? SportLine Plus ideally or older SportLine with Columbus, heated seats and power boot as a bare minimum, the rest I can retrofit but I am willing to pay more for a car with heated screen and lane assist. I don’t mind hatch or estate and mileage doesn’t bother me either nor does location, petrol or diesel doesn’t really matter but I would pay more for a petrol. I don’t really want to spend more than £20,000 if I can but I don’t really have a fixed budget if a nice one came up a bit over that I might stretch. Or just tell me why you love your Superb haha, get me in the mood to be a Superb owner lol. If you know of a car that could tick my boxes please let me know, would be very grateful!!
  24. Seeing as the Citigo has its own thread, seems rude not to give the Octavia one too. The reasons for buying this came about because of a new job, the need for more space inside and with the job, a longer commute. While I love the little Citigo, and am genuinely glad I still get to keep it (kind of), I am very happy to be in a ‘grown up’ car again. Also, my 2 year old is loving all the space in the back that he doesn’t have in either the Citigo nor the Mercedes. The Citigo thread started with pics of the car in the showroom but as this one is used, may as well start with how it looks today!! Octavia vRS by SashaGrace, on Flickr Octavia vRS by SashaGrace, on Flickr Octavia vRS by SashaGrace, on Flickr Octavia vRS by SashaGrace, on Flickr Octavia vRS by SashaGrace, on Flickr Was freshly cleaned when I collected it, that's not even 200 miles worth haha! The spec, so far as I can tell is pretty decent, I think it’s Quartz Grey with winter pack, full leather, black pack (this really completes the car IMO and I love it on my Citigo MC so it was one of the stand out reasons I wanted this car), and is a 2.0 184 TDi partnered with the DSG box. Observations after 300 miles; it’s quick! Thinking back to my Mercedes which is a 400bhp AMG V8 missile it doesn’t disgrace itself in daily driving, even in eco mode (shamefully, that the mode the car will probably live in) the car is plenty quick enough for me. It’s also huge inside, I see now why people rave about the cabin because it is so spacious and the boot is palatial. The Sport mode I’m not sure about; the sound symposer isn’t as naff as I thought it’d be but it seems to hold onto gears a lot longer than I’d like and doesn’t get the message when to change up, though thankfully the paddle shifters can deal with that. The headlights are amazing, I though the Merc bi-xenons were good, the aren’t as good as these! Also worthy of note is the driving position and my worries of interior quality are gone, simply gone, as the car has done 75k and it simply doesn’t show inside, it even smells as good as new. Already I have sourced some chrome key ends, silicone key covers and a whole host of other stuff from eBay and I’ve ordered in some new rubber mats from the dealers, though I’m on the hunt for a drivers carpet mat with the silver piping, just in case one appears to give me a set of each. Also needed was a radio antenna. This follows my tradition of buying used cars and them breaking instantly! The radio was working fine yesterday on DAB, FM & AM but today wouldn’t find a single station. As work shut early I went to the local dealer and hooked the car on the scanner where the antenna was deemed the culprit! Never mind, what’s a £40 part in terms of an £11k car? Just hope that’s the only thing that goes wrong lol. On the mod list so far:- VCDS adaptations, it has lane assist so I believe that auto high beam and traffic sign recognition are features I can install so I’d like to do that, along with some other tweaks, though the car already has the needle sweep, auto rain close windows and some other stuff working. LED lighting, rear plate and interior upgrade and rear footwell light install. That’s about it really, just run it and see from there really. Gotta get it all cleaned up before I get too excited though haha! It’s a busy beaver this week though, off to Wrexham tomorrow and Liverpool Wednesday, then my regular 40 mile round commute Thursday and I’ll be off work Friday (hopefully fitting that antenna!). If there are any good mods I’ve missed, do let me know!!
