  1. Sorry to read of your issues and hopefully you'll get a fair solution to this very unsatisfactory situation soon that'll allow you to trust and enjoy driving what I and many others believe are a great car. Fingers crossed for you STEMAC
  2. Just checking belt n braces question 🙂 ApertureS is right, time get it scanned for codes and hopefully you'll get a good lead as to what the issue is. If you don't have one, maybe consider getting a HEX -V2 or-NET device and get associated VCDS installed, great for diagnosing issues and also for lots of other maintenance jobs and other tweaks too. Good luck, let us know how it goes please?
  3. Did you try a second different key, does it exhibit same issue?
  4. We had similar issues on our previous S3, there is a simple reset of the seat memory module using VCDS that sorted it. If you don't have it then it's worth getting, if not ask about on forum for someone local to you that would be willing to do it for beer tokens 😉 it,
  5. A couple of suggestions to try before chasing possible ghosts in the various CAN, LIN & other buses: If you have not done it recently, (last 4 years, or possibly less if car has start/stop), get and replace it with a new good quality battery (AGM needed for start/stop) - I've had similar problems in the past which were cleared up with a new battery. Also, maybe fully disconnect the dash cam and tow bar modifications, temporarily to aid diagnosing your fault On top of the 2 suggestions above. I'd invest in a HEX -V2 or-NET device and get associated VCDS installed - super useful for diagnosing issues and all sorts of other tweaks become possible. Good luck and let us know how you get on please 🙂
  6. Cheers John! Great to meet you earlier and thanks for the easy transaction. Mick
  7. Ours suffers occasionally with same symptoms, and originally only after swapping from my wifes to my driving position (She is 5 foot 2 & I'm 6 foot 3), but never after changing from mine to hers. I have captured video & scans of it occurring and the list of error codes is horrendous and hits almost all systems making it pretty much impossible to tie down to 1 ecu on any of the many affected sub-systems. Now it is starting to happen when I make a minor adjustment to my seat position whilst driving. For our issue, my thoughts are that its an issue with the under seat harnesses or one of the several components or ECU's under there. So once we get back from our hol's in Italy in a week or so I'm going to have a careful poke around among the under seat harnesses to see if I can force the failure and hopefully get some direction to solving it. Will let you know if I get anywhere.
  8. Update on this topic: Adblue injector replaced by local Skoda/VW/SEAT garage & covered by insurance (518 CHFs), adblue range displayed as 15000KM - all good for 6 weeks :-) Then last weekend after only doing 250 KM's I got the "Error: AdBlue (DEF). No engine start in 1000km" message. I looked under bonnet and replaced parts cable was chewed through again!! Luckily the insurance came good again and covered repair at another 518 CHFs and will not increase my renewal cost this time. You can get ultrasonic rodent repellent devices but they can upset all the local wildlife and we have a dog so don't want to do that so have now cleaned out the garage and will be parking Superb in it, in future. What I find odd is that we have a 2007 Land Rover Freelander 2 which has also always been parker next to Superb in the past and has never suffered an animal attack. Not sure why - more use of recycled plastics in newer car maybe? Any insights or thoughts from the community please?
  9. Brilliant inspectorman, Thank you - very much appreciated! I have this kind of damage covered on my insurance (martins are the usual suspects) so hopefully get it sorted soon
  10. Thanks and sorry I should have said, I tried full number F01C410125150508103509c but google says "Your search - F01C410125150508103509c - did not match any documents."
  11. Hello to all, I have the air quality sensor failure issue so went to take a look but noticed that an animal of some kind has chewed through some other cables and their sleeving in engine bay of 2.0 TDI 190. If I can ask you to take a look at the photos i've included, I'd really appreciate any &all help identify what the part is please? Thanks in advance :-)
