My car doesn't blow hot air
Nothing fixed, Rather I feel like my headlight (driving light) beam is slightly up high. Is it possible to get headlight beam adjuster messed up during his fiddling with the hoses. It is LED headlight btw. Ran diagnostic with OBDEleven, no ereor found.

My car doesn't blow hot air
Took my car to the garage, and the mechanic found the air matrix completely blocked. Left it with him to unblock using chemicals and other methods he claims to specialise in for £120. It’s a time-consuming process but less hassle than removing the whole dashboard to replace the air matrix.

My car doesn't blow hot air
Well, G13 means silicates are included in the coolant mixture itself, where as Mit Silicat- they are provided via a silicate bag if I am right. So, in my case, I shouldn't have Mit Silicat in my expansion tank. I never had coolant flushed. Just wondering if coolant flush will cure the problem. any advice on it!!!

My car doesn't blow hot air
PetrolDave, I’m sure I don’t have Mit Silicat in my coolant. It doesn’t say anywhere on the tank. If I had it, it should have been printed, like it is on my friend's diesel car 66plate.

It's very cold out there and still being set highest, my car barely blow any hot air. Similar car of my friend can make toasty warm in the setting of 23. I had pollen filter replaced lasst year July 11k miles ago. and same time I gave a good clean of the air filter as it was fairly new. Any tips and tricks to get the hot air blowing . thanks guys.

DSG gearbox or Mechatronic leaking under the car
1st one is gear specialist shop... I had the car taken to the 2nd mechanic. After inspecting the car, he said that it was gearbox oil overflowing.. There is no leaking from the gasket he fixed. He said that he might have topped up with too much fluid while he did replace the gasket. Well, he gave it a good clean with spray and asked me to keep an eye.. If still there is oil leaking then he will do further investigation.

DSG gearbox or Mechatronic leaking under the car
I'll get it checked out soon. But mechanic shouldn't be doing that silly mistake especially when it was leaking already. Anything else that anybody can think of? Do I need to consider replacing mechatrone to fix the problem?

DSG gearbox or Mechatronic leaking under the car
The second mechanic has replaced dq200 with new gasket. What else could be done to fix the problem? There is no damage in the mechatrone.

DSG gearbox or Mechatronic leaking under the car
Apparently, I had the mechatronic sealed in a professional gearbox repair shop almost 10months ago.. Then I realised that it didn't stop oil from leaking. So, few months ago I came across a mechanic who seems to be an expert in DSG gear. I showed him the car and he suggested resealling will cure it as the oil is not leaking from the breather. Well, once he took the mechatrone out we found out the previous guy used silicone to seal.. So this guy used proper rubber to seal and advised me that mechatrone sealling by the silicone wasn't good idea.. It has to be proper sealling rubber. Anyway, recently during seevice i saw a lot of oil leaking from all over the gear box. Could someone advise me, how can i fix it once and for good. Did anyone go through similar issue? Car is Octavia 2017 1.4tsi. N. B: There is no fault code or any problem with the gearbox. Mileage is 137k.

Timing belt
- Timing belt
I had a friend with an Octavia Mk3 (2016, 1.6 TDI) that he bought at 145k miles. A few weeks ago, his car’s timing belt snapped, and the engine was completely destroyed. I’m not sure if the timing belt had been replaced before. My car is a 1.4 TSI, 67 plate, with a mileage of 131k. I’m wondering whether I should have my timing belt replaced or not. When I had some work done under the car a few days ago, I asked the mechanic to check the timing belt, and he reported that it was okay. Also, as I posted here a long time ago, Skoda confirmed that for my model, there is no recommendation to change the timing belt at 80k or 120k miles or 5 years. They said it should be done as and when needed. Can someone share their experience with the timing belt for this Mk3 1.4 TSI or provide any expert opinion on whether I should consider changing the belt or not?- Sound cracking
Hi, I've had both speakers on the left side replaced, and the sound quality has improved a lot. They are much crisper than the original speakers. I think replacing all four speakers would have been ideal, but I didn’t want to risk breaking the window switch clips, which happened on the rear left and had to be glued back. The front left switch was unoppened all the way and remains unbroken.- Sound cracking
One of my friends has the similar car.. Just wondering if I swap the unit (inside the glob box) to pinpoint the problem, would there be any issue of coding..so if i transfer his unit to mine, can i test the sound or it will ask me to put the code to activate it.- Sound cracking
Sorry for my ignorance PetrolDave. I got it now. NB: I have seen people doing the wiring behind the infotainment system for camera, dashcam etc.- Sound cracking
Thanks for the informative reply TheClient. How to access the media unit main harness? is it behind the Infotainment system or behind the CD changer (inside the glove box)?- Sound cracking
I am bit confused after talking to some auto mechanics. They said, it could be a problem with car stereo system as issue is left side speakers (front and rear) of the car which means audio system needs replacing and they can not do it as it requires programming. For me, it sounds lime speakers are damaged.. Both of them had different issue.. Rear left has no bass and front left has cracking noise. Anybody ever had similar problem? - Timing belt
