Enyaq Heat Pump Option
Its in Germany and the proof is that this winter heat pump owners were not getting the claimed improvement in range over stock. Its in the mainstream motoring press. What has not been made public at the moment is how much compo has been paid.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Very interested, since the public announcement did not make the number of 50kW chargers clear.

Would have been quicker to say what you hadn't ticked! Nice motor, enjoy.

Skoda Enyaq - What Spec & Add ons?
Not entirely true, there is a £20 charge for your first card, but no annual £20 renewal. I've been looking at getting one but decided £20 a year was more than I'd spend charging in Scotland per year. Now its a one off fee, I may change my tune but it depends on what other chargers are available in the area I'm visiting and costs. For existing card holders like you, there are no further annual charges - so win! PS Your 11K miles for £17 is actually £57 as you don't get access to those 'free' chargers without the annual £20 charge(and you have paid that 2 times IIRC from another thread ). Still amazingly good going, but not quite £17. PPS This is just me being a pedant and hope this does not derail the thread.

Dog guard and boot liner
Not directly related but same problem with the ID.4. I've found boot liner manufacturers are very keen to measure up to get a product for the ID.4. I expect they will be keen to get hold of an Enyaq. So if one of the manufacturers is near you, give them a ring and see if they want to measure your car. The ID.4 group has got a boot liner sorted this way from Boot Buddy

Replacing our Karoq
We swapped our Karoq for electric, but jumped over to VW's ID.4. Our lease was up and couldn't wait for the Enyaq to come available, which was disappointing as they kept changing the release date. I've not been disappointed with the electric experience so far, the drive, the ride, the silence.... It's great. I'll be hanging around as there is plenty of good information on here. @SurreySlowCoach You can charge the car while you visit the relatives, either at a local charger or with a 3-pin plug in the relatives house. Many of the latest EVs will do 300 miles, so 2 hours charge at a slow charger or 4-5 on a 3-pin will get you your 350 mile round trip. Refuelling your EV does not require your presence. @Sanqhar There is an EV forum on here https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/382-electric-vehicles/ and an Enyaq forum https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/398-škoda-enyaq-iv/ (just in case you haven't seen them)

Enyaq iV Owners Register
I don't have an Enyaq, but its elder brother - ID.4. I have found after my DSG Karoq that the driving experience is very similar, but acceleration better. I think the acceleration is better due to no gear changes or wait for turbo boost and it certainly gives confidence. Over time I've got very confident in the range available, its been very consistent over the 3.4K miles we've done. So confident that we've spent the weekend away in an area with no chargers, confident we had 'motoring around' miles and enough to get home again. (which we did without drama). Recently have started using eco mode as we've been using the car's punch more than really needed on hills. Eco blunts the acceleration a bit but gives better efficiency. From what I'm seeing on-line the Enyaq 60s are giving better m/kWh than the ID.4s which is probably due to the lighter weight battery and slightly better aerodynamics. Its very noticeable that most Enyaqs seem to be the 60 version.

England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
I watched the live stream of Toddington Harper (Gridserve CEO) and Robert Llewelyn (Fully charged Show) discussing the Gridserve announcements made today. Very interesting and some extremely exciting developments coming. Hopefully this is not empty promises. If you want to see it...

Wall boxes (home AC chargers)
why do you say that?

England EV Charging points, a proposal. & location & news on new charging hubs in England & Wales.
Was about to post the same link I agree that if Gridserve pull this off, Tesla's advantage in charging is greatly diminished. Plus Gridserve will be more ubiquitous due to having the locations from Ecotricity, something Tesla is a bit limited on. Will Tesla open up their network to other marques to avoid ending up with redundant infrastructure?

It is good to see that Gridserve are keeping to their word with regards to upgrading the old Ecotricity chargers. So far close to 30 sites upgraded. There has been grumblings of less Chademo connectors with the new chargers and no AC charging at upgraded sites, but Gridserve have said they will rectify this. Apparently Gridserve have a big announcement tomorrow, so lets see what comes next.

Leasing price doesn't seem to scale with options
I've had this. Normally it's because the lease company does not give any residual value to your options. So they expect you to pay for the options completely by the end of the lease. If you tot up the cost of the options and the increase in payments, they are probably close to being the same.

@SusansDad there are Enyaqs in Skoda showrooms now, be worth going down to have a look?

AC charging
Yes Aldi have lots of free chargers also and Lidl also have some. I got 30% battery / 100 miles today charging at Aldi (22kW) and Tesco (7kW) today for free while doing the shop and getting lunch. Every little helps!
-
AC charging
Just so you know, most free chargers at supermarkets etc are AC. The fastest ones are 22kW 3-phase and you can plug into those no problem. The car will charge at 11kW which is about 44 miles range added per hour. Worth it for a free top up while shopping.
-
AC charging
@john999boy No, you are thinking of DC rapid charging. There are no conflicting specs. AC single phase (what you have at home) maxes out at 7.4kW. This is the limit of the cable (32 amp current). On 3 phase AC the limit is 22kW. Still 32 amp current but 3 phases so 3x7.4. To make use of AC to charge a battery it must be converted to DC. This is done by the car's on board charger. The max output of the on board charger is 11kW. Therefore the max AC charge rates for Enyaq are 7.4kW single phase AND 11kW 3-phase.

3 pin charging cable for occasional use
Just make sure the granny charger from the Ioniq has a type 2 connector that plugs into the car, then it should be fine.

Air con query Citigo
Aha! So now I know why they do it! Now, have they done it in this case and this explains the lack of A/C?
-
Air con query Citigo
Just check that the garage have not turned off the fan on the heater controls. I don't know why garages do this, but they do. If the heater fan setting is '0' then the A/C light will not illuminate as the system only engages if the fan is on.

Home charger
VAG group are pushing PodPoint until the Connect / iV charger becomes available in the UK. The latest PodPoint model seems pretty well featured and reliable. If you have or plan to have solar panels or a wind turbine you should consider the Zappi charger as that integrates into a home generation system. I myself have a Wallbox Pulsar Plus which I'm very happy with - its small, neat and well featured. Several chargers can communicate with your electricity supplier to provide cost information - Ohme is one of these. Try to work out what features you would like and then draw up a short list. Get quotes for installation from both national suppliers and local electricians. Be clear about what they are quoting for as a cheap price might not have taken the amount of cable required into consideration or where your consumer unit is for instance. Something you need to do asap is find out if your supply is suitable for a home charger. If your supply needs upgrading get your request in to the DNO fast, they are struggling to keep up with demand in some places.
