  1. I was wondering the same thing .... perhaps it's a 'keeping it secret from the Insurance' fitment , or no one has fitted one yet !! Mind you I'm still in a debate over a Pedal Box
  2. Did you have to inform your insurance company and if so , did premium /excess etc increase ? Just asking as I'm interested in fitting one .
  3. Given the amount of posting he does on our Superb 3 section I wondered if he actually found time to post in the Octavia section ..... so I had a quick look and I'm afraid he does 😢!! Had a look at the Supercar too , lovely stickers .
  4. Adds a considerable degree of driveability on the 280 ps model ... having acquired an advanced degree of wrestling skills with steering on similar powered fwd cars I am a big fan of AWD on my big barge.
  5. Being a 'casual contributor' on the 280ps threads (as an owner of one) and having seen a lot of contributions from you which on a few occasions result in some 'banter' for want of a better expression , have you now bought a 280ps (or 272ps) Superb and forgot to change your details , or just asking why you tend to hang around on a part of the forum that is totally unconnected to your Octavia ?
  6. Nothing wrong with a Mk1 MX5 ............
  7. Have all you creaking armrest guys got huge arms ?
  8. Love 100% with absolutely no hates at all .... and I've previously owned a few premium German products . The Superb 280ps Sportline Combi is in my opinion the best all round car available today (well not quite as it's now the 272) from price / space / performance / build quality perspective . Perhaps I'm just getting more easy to please now I'm retired but then again , the family do tend to call me Victor Meldrew a lot more these days .
  9. So the answer really is ... enjoy the beast or join the 'Righteous' and buy a Prius ... or am I being non PC ? - to be honest I'm too old to care
  10. Fair enough ... mind you I've seen hubs on new showroom stuff looking worse than yours
  11. Well at least there are two of us freeglide .... decent distance run say 200 miles at around 80 ish on motorway I get about 33mpg . Local 'gentle'run say 30 miles very similar. And short urban trips I tend to try not to look !! But to be honest my company Performance Diesels like the 335D only averaged late 30's overall so given the fact that the Superb Combi is a fairly big lump and in my opinion probably the nicest looking big lump available ,I'm still pretty happy .
  12. Those rear discs are certainly a lot cleaner than most I've seen and even the brake hub is looking exceptionally clean and rust free . Have you painted the hubs ?
  13. Probably demand has reduced since deletion of Multi Point Injection and Exhaust Valves
  14. We have one of these in the immediate family .... great performance wagon but imho not in same league as my own Superb 280 wagon in Sportline trim. Seat just edges it in performance but the Skoda Interior , shape , build quality etc just seem that bit classier . And of course there is the Space !!!
  15. Having owned the full selection of 'Premium' German wagons I am now on my third Superb 3 Kombi and find it to be the best all round value for money , practical , performance vehicle I have ever owned. At this point in time there is nothing else out there I would consider ..................
  16. I'm not going to try that and yes I agree the more you try to research stuff like this it drives you nuts ..... To be serious though , anything like Mann / Bosch / Mahle should be fine. As I've only done 2200 miles in 8 months so far (don't ask!!) I'll probably just get an oil service done in Sept and change the Air / Pollen ones at 2 years ... mind you I might have changed it again by then knowing me .
  17. Yes they do manufacture filters for VAG but are not the sole suppliers as far as I'm aware .
  18. Just checking as I've got first service in September and it would be yet another 'post service check' to make to ensure it was done ..... along with taking out half a litre of overfilled oil etc etc
  19. Do they change Air Filter on First Service now or did you mean Oil Filter ?
  20. They actually admitted that the Shock absorber was leaking on first visit and the diagnosis was downgraded to 'only misting which is normal' on next visit - Utter *******s on their part and I am sure you know already that your are being fobbed off . There is a leak , albeit only light at moment , which will probably deteriorate soon . I'm not 100% sure if you will be able to claim under warranty as the dealer could allege accidental damage and not a manufacturing defect but I'd definitely get back on to them and insist that a replacement is fitted , actually a pair as would be the norm when replacing shock absorbers . Fact that they also messed around with your servicing schedule will give extra ammunition if you have to escalate matters to Skoda Customer Services.
  21. I'd stick to annual / 10000 given your type of use plus of course stay with recommended intervals re Cam Belt change / DSG oil change etc.
  22. 37 mpg ..... I really need to go on a 'foot lightening' course
  23. 37 mpg overall ..... I really need to go on a 'foot lightening' course
  24. It's nice to have a second little 'cart' to have a bit of fun ..... here's my 28 year old one in a timeless location .
  25. To be honest none of us should try to appreciate steering by throttle on public roads ... leave it for the track ... and just appreciate what a very nice big decently powered and reasonably economic barge our 280 Mk3's are .
