  1. Twice yesterday I nearly came to grief whilst turning on a roundabout. Fortunately on both occasions there was nothing on the roundabout, but the car just carried on straight - and I was going very very slowly. Never had any issues whatsoever with my Kuga winter tyres (Dunlop SP Winter Sport -again 19"). Definitely need to sell my Ford winter wheel/tyres ASAP to fund a decent set for the Karoq.
  2. Looks like they could be Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 . Have look here https://www.nokiantyres.com/tyres/passenger-car/studded-tyres/ Ah well, soon be Spring...
  3. Working for me when I click on it. It's one of many on Youtube. The Autogefuhl reviews are exceptionally good if you've got plenty of spare time.
  4. At about 9:37 on Arkiag's video, if you're anorak enough (like me), you can freeze frame the close up on the tyres. They look to be NOKIEN Tyres 225 55 R17. There is some other writing on them - APEL something RS? Cracking video though, it'd be great to have a go in that landscape & setting, without worrying about coming bumper to bumper with a truck or bus around the corner..
  5. There's quite a few similar videos on Youtube such as the one below. I'm sure that at one point they do say that they are using studded tyres. Try driving that fast on bog standard Bridgstone Duellers and you can kiss goodbye to your NCD Unless all the motoring press demo cars all had the same registration plates, the one above has the same number as the Karoq in your link.
  6. I've recently drifted across from the Kuga Owners Club http://www.kugaownersclub.co.uk/forum/ where I've been for the past five years. Very similar to Briskoda, very helpful and really well run.
  7. That's a good buy as well George. Spare wheels are hard to come by at the moment, unless they are sent out direct from the factory. Did you manage to get the front mud flaps with your Protection Pack? Still waiting for mine.
  8. Hi John, I got just about the exact same deal on my Karoq - ACC, heated screen, tow bar prep, 1700 miles for a tad over £27k. Got the Protection Pack half price (still expensive for what it is). So there are deals to be done, it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time I guess. I don't think I would ever be bothered to wait long for any car, as eventually there is such a glut of cars on most dealers forecourts, wether it be Range Rovers, Porsche, Aston Martin, Skoda or whatever. If you see something that fits the bill, buy it, drive it, and enjoy.

I've just come from a Kuga Titanium X to my Karoq. The Kuga had HBA, and although great in theory, it was nowhere near as quick as the human eye insomuch as it could not react to approaching headlights coming round a bend, nor marker lights on the top of a truck or lorry, so I would have to override the HBA and dip the headlights myself, or risk being flashed at myself . It also (occasionally) would react falsely to red marker reflectors on warning posts on bends in the road, just when you needed them most! More annoying than anything, as I knew when it was going to happen on my regular route to work, out in the sticks, in the dark. On the Kuga you could set the level of sensitivity - Low, Medium,High in the settings menu. Maybe/hopefully the Skoda system somehow works much better, but it isn't something I would have personally opted for.
  10. Could be worse, they could have made just the lefts, or just the right sides
  11. It's really odd that whoever Skoda use to manufacture rubber mats and/or mud flaps only produce half the kit, wether it be rear floor mats or front mud flaps. Same goes for the spare wheel issue.
  12. Thanks bone_tone, I’ve just contacted Skoda customer services for confirmation about the mats, and they do indeed come with textile mats. They in turn contacted by dealer who then rang me to say the rubber mats from the Protection Pack would be available for collection at my (more local) dealer next Tuesday. Result, but shouldn’t have taken phone calls to customer service. Hey ho. Thanks for the reply.
  13. Does the SEL and Edition models come with textile floor mats as per the online pricing specs brochure, regardless of wether the Protection Pack is ordered? The reason I ask is that when we took our Karoq out for a test drive prior to buying it, I'm sure it had these mats in. When we finally decided to buy the car, we ordered the Protection Pack to go with it, thinking it would comprise of boot/load liner, front & rear mud flaps, and rubber mats front and rear. On collection we were told that the front mud flaps were on back order (fair enough), the boot/load liner was fitted, but when I asked about the rubber mats I was told by the salesman that he'd ordered textile mats in error and that when some rubber mats came in he would swap them for me. I then said that I was sure that the textile mats were in the car at the time of the test drive, to which he said they were not. All in all, I've had a few minor issues already which has somewhat taken the shine of buying the Karoq. Any ideas?
  14. They are probably well protected and sealed as they are, it's just how they perform after many years. For the sake of the connection being moved a few inches either side during the design stage it seems a bit shortsighted to put it there. I guess it's just a matter of being aware that it's there and being careful when topping up.
  15. This might be obvious to most, but it's worth noting that when you fill up the washer bottle, directly below it there are two multi plug/socket connectors just waiting to get drenched in screen fluid. Probably not a good thing to do in the long term.. Not a particularly good bit of design - a bit like the aforementioned bonnet stay slot being upside down.
  16. Hi vadimo, when you specced your Karoq did you specify the wheel arch trims? I've noticed that some Karoq's have them (like your), whereas other don't (like mine)..
  17. I live just outside of Hull, picked it up last Friday !6/02 from the Skoda dealers in Grimsby. Not seen any others on the road yet. Bought it with the Protection Pack (Boot liner, mats and mud flaps), but the front mud flaps are on back order - bit odd? Still waiting to hear about purchasing a spare wheel and polystyrene surround - apparently not available as yet unless a demo car has been supplied with one for show.
  18. Yep, it was probably me getting it wrong about the gas struts. That's what happens after watching and researching dozens of Karoq Youtube videos into the wee small hours, the Karoq vids blend into the Kodiaq vids
  19. So, taken a first look under the bonnet and, as expected the washer bottle had plain water in it. So much for a PDI, sending out a car in the middle of winter with just water in the bottle is both cheap skate and asking for trouble. Syphoned off and replaced with washer fluid. Second thing (1st really) on the numerous Karoq pics and Youtube vids I'd seen was that they had gas struts like our Q3 rather than a metal rod - perhaps a mod for the future as the I think the holes for gas struts are there. The daft thing is, whoever designed the key hole shaped slot in the bonnet to accept the rod has put it upside down insomuch that the smaller part of the hole is a the bottom? You need to have a look to see what I'm getting at. Still chuffed with it and still reading the manual....
  20. A quick hello as I'm new to the forum. Just taken delivery of a Karoq Edition TDI DSG after 4 1/2 years of trouble free Kuga ownership. Not new to VAG though, having previously owned a Passat B5.5 TDI, again trouble free. Very similar to the Kuga insomuch having the same bells and whistles, but much more up to date. Here's hoping for many more trouble free motoring miles.
