2020 F1 Discussion
Both McLaren's and both Ferrari's out in Q2. LeClerc surprised that he was 6 seconds slower than Max. Back to the drawing board for 2021 then.

2020 F1 Discussion
Oh dear fresh tarmac, rain and powerful rear wheel drive F1 cars doesn't make for a very quick lap time oh and the wrong Pirelli tyres thrown into the mix. Max 30 seconds a lap slower than yesterday on a dry track in Q1.

TAILGATING CAMERAS ON THE M1
Highway Code still mentions the 2 second rule when travelling at 70mph so at least 60 metres I would imagine.

2021 Donington Historic Festival 01-02/05/2021
This is a good day out having been a few years ago. Think it is usually held over a weekend with either Saturday or Sunday tickets or a weekend pass. The older F1 cars sound awesome for younger Briskodians to experience.

SKODA PATENT WORLD'S FIRST ILLUMINATED SEAT BELT BUCKLE.
Using LED lighting technology and sensors as currently used in the seat cushions Skoda has filed a Patent for illuminated seat belt buckles which would be a world first. The idea is that when a person sits on the seat the buckle will glow red from the normal unseated white colour. When the buckle is fastened it changes to green and then back to white so it doesn't distract the driver.

TAILGATING CAMERAS ON THE M1
Following previous trials on the M3, M6 and M20 motorways another one is under way on the M1 in Northamptonshire and in the first 2 weeks 10,000 motorists have been sent a warning letter (no fines or points issued yet) reminding them to leave a safe distance to the vehicle in front. Previously on earlier trials between 201 and 273 drivers per hour were found to be tailgating which doesn't surprise me from what I have observed between junctions 22 and 20 on the M1.

I switched my wife's standard 18" Braga alloys with 215/50R18 Michelin tyres for the 19" Vega from my previous 2019 Superb Sportline with wider 235/40R19 Bridgestone tyres without affecting the speedo but economy is around 10% worse. Best economy on 215 tyres was 66mpg but only 60mpg on 235 tyres. Comfort still acceptable despite the drop from 50 to 40 profile tyres. Karoq SEL 1.5TSi manual.

Yeah best time now 1:28:33. F1 announce use of sustainable fuels by 2026. Is this electricity or hydrogen fuel cell technology perhaps?

From 1st November 2020 only EU Passport Holders allowed to buy property on Cyprus because of the Russian/Chinese investor buyers driving up the cost of new builds. Looked at some villa's which went from 680,000 to 2 million Euro's and they weren't good value. Went to Coral Bay on the local bus for the day only 5 Euro all day each (4 coaches used) and it is an area we would consider to retire.

2020 F1 Discussion
Times tumbling now with Albon setting a 1:30 but with only 1 podium in the last year and Perez able to bring lots of sponsorship money to RBR wouldn't be surprised to hear Horner announce his arrival for 2021.

Superb 280, improve none existent exhaust note?
Did you mean 272 or are you talking about a Renault Clio?

V-Power
Comparing 177bhp Cupra figure quoted by SEAT using 95 ron and the 190bhp on AmD dyno on 99 ron V-Power. Vrs245 Skoda quoted 242bhp on 95 ron and actual 249bhp on V-Power again. Superb 272 quoted at 268bhp on 95 ron by Skoda and actual 283bhp on 99 ron Tesco Momentum on same dyno.

V-Power
In my personal experience over several turbo petrol cars Shell V-Power gave between 7bhp more (VRS245) and 13bhp more (Leon Cupra 1.8T) whereas Tesco Momentum gave 15bhp more (Superb 272) but that was probably due to the bigger IS38 turbo on the Superb compared to the smaller IS20 turbo on the Octavia.

Are you happy with the new infotainment system?
This is one of the reasons I swapped from a 2019 Superb with the 9.2" Columbus to the older 8" Amundsen in my 2020 Superb because it is much nicer to use when driving much like the similar system in our other car a January 2018 SEL Karoq which still works easily after 28,000 miles.

How long for oil to warm up? (1.4TSi)
Thanks currently working my way through Star Trek Discovery on Netflix as my reward for going on holiday to one of the safest places on Earth is now 2 weeks quarantine because we are deemed a health risk to the general public.

Nick you are indeed well traveled. Is lap dancing the reason the Eskimo needs to remove their Polar Bear skin coat? No wonder Santa Claus is always smiling in Lapland.

Superb Sportline
If they are from on Octavia Vrs worth remembering they are only 7.5J wide as the Vega alloys are 8J.

Colour is Meteor Grey not the Audi Nardo mentioned but the spec is quite high and the low mileage sort of justifies the high asking price. £16,500 would be a better price IMHO.- What have you done to your Superb III today?
Not very exciting but it started first time in 3 weeks. Just 2 more weeks quarantine then I can actually drive it. Nearly 9 months old and it's done 6,440 miles and the first service is due in 396 days or 11,000 miles time.- Superb Sportline Plus - Electrically Adjustable Seats Option
Think it is something like £600 extra to make the passenger seat electric. I owned a Sportline Plus before trading it in for my 2020 SEL Superb which although has heated front seats like the Plus they are leather yet only the driver's seat is electric still. - Photography Thread
