Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
I was told that mine came from BBC World Service. I hear that a Chinese firm has made a clone, haven’t heard one, but a couple of friends have and say it sounds exactly the same.

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
By the time I got them the handles had gone, but the mounts for them where still there. I loved the sound they produced.

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
I used to own a pair of ex BBC LS7’s, which I’m sad I let go of. At the time we had a toddler and she kept trying to climb the heavy stands, it was too dangerous. The Monitor Audio’s would certainly sound great. I did once have a financial director that was certainly trying to 30kg! 😂 That guy ate non stop.

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
I’ve certainly seen this with newer Japanese built AV revivers, the 2019 Onkyo that I have has a lot less power than the 2009 model it replaced. It’s also not helped by their proprietary room equalisation system. It’s all over the place. Luckily you can store your own settings, so it’s measuring sound levels across various frequencies. Brings back fond memories of many years back doing similar in Fountain Studios in Wembley, they had the same acoustics as the average aircraft hanger 🤬😊

Welcome to ISA - (intelligent speed assistance limiter) - UK to follow EU adoption on new cars - great new safety measure or Big Brother ?
I wouldn’t like it if the car wouldn’t allow you to accelerate to avoid an accident. I’ve had two incidents in the past when being able to go above the speed limit saved me from an accident. One was a truck deciding to just swerve into my lane (I think the driver nodded off and I had to get clear) and one where one of the wheels came off a car in front.

2021 F1 Discussion
They certainly dragged it out as long as possible before starting the farce of a couple of parade laps, before giving the half points based on qualifying positions. Shouldn’t the safety car got first place and fastest lap? 😊

Hello guys! Can anyone help me if this 2016 (reg 66) Yeti has DAB functionality please?
We used to have a 2014 year UK Yeti with an Amudsen entertainment system and it had DAB.

Front Assist Collision Warning
On the three Kodiaq’s we have or had, I’ve had to turn the collision avoidance radar settings down on two of them in the entertainment system. One had a fear of a certain humpback bridge and always slammed the brakes on approaching it. After turning the settings down it’s been fine.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
I’d agree on that, but unfortunately we often go off track exploring in areas with poor mobile coverage. Downloading all the areas Google maps is a bit too much for our phone’s memory

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Cars delivered from November 2020 have the Skoda name on the back tailgate door replacing the Skoda logo. They also have MIB3 entertainment systems, which are a huge retrograde from the previous MIB2. The sat nav in particular is awful and the excellent POI interface search has been replaced by a useless sat nav add on. I won’t be buying any VAG vehicle with MIB3 ever again, it’s useless.

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
I wish broadcasters would agree a sound level standard. The BBC keeps reasonable sound levels, but ITV just screams at you with compressed sound, particularly daytime TV. 5.1 or now even 7.1 or 9.2 reductions on Sky can sound very odd. There also seems to be an issue with amp designers of 5.1 AV receivers sound tuning systems or room equalisation. Some amps are extremely loud others don’t seem to perform till turned up to 90%.

The 'new' green numberplates.
I believe the GB letters on plates and stickers are being replaced by UK. Don’t know if it’s allowed on the green strip though.

Radio logo on a 2021 Kodiaq
Great if you have mobile coverage everywhere you go, or a mobile with lots of storage for maps. When you consider what they charge for the mediocre MIB3 System it’s very poor value for money, the MIB2 sat nav was miles better.

Can you replace MIB3 software with MIB2’s?
Good suggestion, but with out frequent trips to western Ireland and us stopping off, for the off tracks exploring, it’s a lot of stuff to download to cover all the poor coverage areas in Wales and Ireland

Can you replace MIB3 software with MIB2’s?
Thanks that’s what I thought, but thought it worth enquiring about. It’s looks like our Kodiaq ownership days will be coming to end. I’ve already placed an order elsewhere to replace mine and the wife hates the replacement Kodiaq she got back in November. With some of the places we go to we can’t rely on a mobile signal to use Google maps etc.

Hyundai Ioniq 5
I always take these range tests with a pinch of salt because unless they where all done at the same time there not really comparative with EV’s. I’ve seen days when the range goes above the makers claims and others when it falls a lot short.

Can you replace MIB3 software with MIB2’s?
I’ve just about had enough of the atrocious MIB3 software and its horrible sat nav interface and numerous bugs. Does anyone know if it’s possible to install the MIB2 software on the MIB3? I expect not, as my suspicion is the hardware is not the same.

Radio logo on a 2021 Kodiaq
The MIB3 system is unfortunately a major downgrade from the MIB2. The ability to easily update things like logos and the nav database using the USB ports has gone and the sat nav has a truly awful interface. One of the reasons why my next car won’t be anything built by VAG.

Skoda Enyaq
I was keen at getting an Enyaq till I priced it up with a reasonable specification that matched our Kodiaq. When I did the price was just daft, there wasn’t much difference between it and a deal on an electric Jag. Don’t think I’ve the right mad set for a Jaaag person though. I buy my rounds in the pub and don’t wear moth eaten tweed. 😎

Skoda Kodiaq does not fall under the fixed pricing servicing?
I’d also ask Watford why they don’t do fixed price servicing when their Slough branch does. I would suspect it’s more a case of someone not knowing what they are doing.

Kia EV 6
Certainly looks to be well ahead of any VW or Skoda offering. It will be interesting to see how the price looks for a 4 wheel drive, big battery option.
-
Skoda Enyaq
That was for the 80 model with Ecosuite trim, heat pump, 3 zone air con and heated rear seats. Quote was on the lease scheme, based on 2 payments upfront, 7k mikes per year over 4 yrs on service plan B.

Send a journey to a MY21 Kodiak (SEL model)
The MIB3 in the 2021 cars is a massive mess compared to the earlier MIB2 system. Who ever designed the menus was certainly smoking something..
-
Skoda Enyaq
The prices are just crazy. I was quoted £581 a month. I can get a VW ID 4 for a lot less.

Sunroof leaking
I had two friends with issues with their sun roofs on Kodiaq’s One was what looked like glue blocking the drain hole, which a small screw driver managed to remove and the other was bits of sycamore seeds. The sycamore seeds was the worse, took ages to get all the bits out.
