Pop pop,SOS
Not according to the pro forma invoice which would have included any hardware to put their warranty up

Pop pop,SOS
As I posted back in October 2022, my VRS Estate (first registered March 2022) was updated to version 1896. After countless problems before the update I have had no problem whatsoever since, No pop pop, no sat nav issues, no error messages. As a result I would not consider updating to 1941 unless all the problems started again. If it isn't broke then no need for fixing is my moto now.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
Mine is a March 2022 model that had the engine cover removed by the dealership after the initial recall. It is not listed by Skoda UK for a recall to have a replacement fitted.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
The ones like mine, reg March2022, were recalled to the dealer and the cover was removed. New ones were either shipped out from the factory without a cover or the dealer would be told to remove it at the pdi inspection, prior to the owner collecting it.

Skoda Connect
I have had the email asking me to renew. First of all I think the membership to Skoda Connect should last the three years of warranty but hey ho. I will not renew on the basis that the Sat nav is way out of date, with speed limits as an example. I use Waze for Sat nav, updated constantly because it is done by users in real time. I have also used Google Maps which is also very good. Both of them knock the inbuilt Skoda Sat nav into touch as far as I’m concerned.

Petrol flap not opening at all help
Well it’s good to know that trick 👍👍 Strange how yours is a VRS Estate as is mine, I wonder if it’s the only model with the problem?

Petrol flap not opening at all help
I had the same problem but only once. Pulled into petrol station, couldn’t open the filler flap. The car wasn’t locked but I then locked the car and unlocked it. Flap then opened.

Daytime running lights
Yes thanks for that. At least I know with the symbol when the headlights and therefore the tail lights are activated. Many thank to all who have answered.

Daytime running lights
The infotainment screen only changes to night mode if the setting is set to auto, which I don't set to auto because the maps are rubbish in night mode. However thanks for the heads up on the bulb symbol, i had only ever noticed the Auto illuminated by the light switch. As an aside I have always wondered why the tail lights aren't lit in daytime running, how many cars do we see running around with daytime running lights and no tail lights when it is going dark and the driver thinks all their lights are on because the dash is illuminated?
-
Daytime running lights
Why is it that when Auto lights are selected, the daytime running lights are on at the front but not the tail lights. As it gets darker the headlights come on and that is when the tail lights come on also. But my question is, what indication is there on the dash that the headlights and tail lights have come on?

SatNav fault loss of position, ACC issues.
I use Waze via Apple car play all the time now, much more accurate than the inbuilt rubbish and of course it is continually updated by its users in present time. Sometimes you think "why send me that way" then you see the big red line on the normal route indicating stationary traffic. The speed limit signs aren't out of date either unlike the inbuilt system.

Pop pop,SOS
My VRS was updated on the fourth visit to the dealers on 9th Sept. No issues since and no popping noise. Let’s just hope Skoda have finally resolved this problem.

Pop pop,SOS
My VRS Estate was up graded to 1896 on 23 June. All issues seemed to have been resolved.......well for the first two weeks then once again I had the double tap noise on four or five occasions and then the dreaded "SOS fault, please visit workshop". Sometimes this gets reset after start up and sometimes not. I have had this double tap scenario about twenty times since the upgrade to 1896 and after every four or five times the SOS error comes on. In these instances, the Columbus sat nav or the sat nav via Apple Car Play both go haywire and have no idea where the car is on the planet. The radio and phone are both inoperable when this happens. As I say sometimes all this is reset after starting the car but on number of occasions, I have resorted to resetting everything myself by pressing the SOS button for approx. 30 seconds with the car stationary and the ignition turned on. On two of these resetting attempts, the emergency services have been called and both time i have said it is a fault with the car and if they have any issue with that, to call Skoda UK and complain to them. Other intermittent faults displayed on the dash that come and go are "Front Assist Not Working" or "Adaptive Headlights Not Working" and sometimes the radio loses all volume even though the volume indicator bar is showing volume. The car is back in the dealers today (9 Sept) for its fifth visit with this same SOS issue, it is only six months old and I am now heartily sick of it. Who can I contact at Skoda or Skoda Finance to get my money back? It is obviously not fit for purpose.

At long last... SW Version 1896
Things just get worse. I have had the upgrade to 1896 and all was well for a couple of weeks until I once again got the double pop from the speakers on three or four occasions in one day and then the dreaded SOS error notification "Return to Workshop". After that all infotainment screen functions stopped working with only "Loading Settings" displayed. No radio, phone or navigation working. Next day all was working again on start up but although Navigation was working there was no audible direction notifications. Next day SOS warning again and once again no radio, phone or navigation. In frustration I pressed the SOS button for 10 seconds and everything has since worked, except that there is still no audible direction notifications on Navigation, but its ok when using Google maps or Waze via Apple Car Play I am getting pretty fed up with this car now, five months old and has been back to the dealers four times for this problem.

At long last... SW Version 1896
Mine went into the dealers yesterday for a software update. All the usual bugs like SOS and no infotainment screen working. It was on 1804 and when i dropped the car off I asked for it to be updated to 1896. The response from them was that they can only update to what the computer allows from the info from Skoda. I checked the software version when I got back home and it still says 1804. I'm puzzled now as to how some of you have managed to get 1896. Just as an aside, the paperwork I received on collection says " Software Enhancement",

Nextbase Dashcam Problem
Hi Richard, I have a Nextbase 322GW that I used in my previous 2020 VRS Octavia with no problem. It is now fitted to my current 2022 VRS, in the same position to the left of the mirror at the top of the screen. I have had no problem in this car either. Both were/are hard wired to the fuse box. When I got the new car I noticed a USB C port on the side of the interior mirror obviously put there for powering dash cams. My initial thought was to try and get a short lead from Nextbase to save the hassle of running a power lead to the fuse box. When I enquired about a short lead, Nextbase said that they didn't do one because the USB port didn't give a steady enough voltage to power their cameras. This may not be your situation as I don't know if your car has a USB on the mirror nor that you are using it for your camera.

Alarm Wouldn't Shut Off
Just to update the ongoing situation. After 5-6 minutes the alarm stopped then started again, all the same scenario with not being able to stop it sounding no matter what I tried. Then after another 5-6 minutes it stopped again probably because it has a time out function. I called Skoda Assist and they arrived within the hour, the alarm not having gone off again. The man plugged in his computer and it brought up a fault on the siren. He re-booted the alarm system until it showed no faults, and since then (4 days) the alarm has not gone off. One thing he told me was that the little red warning light on the door that shows when the alarm is set, also can show a fault in the alarm system. When you arm the alarm, the light should start flashing straight away, but if a fault is detected, the light will stay static red for a few seconds before starting to flash. If that happens you can expect a problem.

Alarm Wouldn't Shut Off
Mine has also just gone off. Unlocked the car, still sounding alarm, started engine, still sounding, Drive away, still going off. 5 minutes later with engine still running it stops. Next time it does it I will just press the SOS button and they will then have to send someone out.
