  1. The question I'm asking is if all FL vRSs are done this way
  2. Picked up my FL vrs on the 12th only to find that the vrs grille badge was missing. I've just had a new one fitted & it looks like all they've done is glued a new one to the grille. Is there meant to be a plastic mount underneath or are they all like that? I was just worried that if it gets jetwashed it will ping off! Anyone else's like this?
  3. Not sure about the travel expenses themselves, but I don't see how you could claim them against your tax. If you're employed, the expense has to be "Wholly, exclusively & necessarily in the performance of your duties". If you're not employed, you have no duties so your travel costs can't relate to them. I suspect the travel compensation may be some kind of concession, as the normal rules are to tax everything unless it's specifically excluded! Try searching HM Revenue & Customs: Home Page which is the Revenue's website, HTH
  4. Having read the supplement to the new FL brochure, it refers to Tourist Mode for changing the headlights for driving on the continent. Is this just for vehicles with Xenons or can it be set up for normal headlights? Fanks!
  5. Yep. I got my pregnant wife onto the dealer and she complained until they got the salesman to come in on his day off (last Thursday) so we could have our car before the shutdown
  6. Would this be the same principle for travel/tourist mode lights? The supplement to the new FL manual says it's an option in maxidot, but I don't seem to have it on there.
  7. I think (but don't quote me) it's to do with legal issues of other manufacturers owning the RS moniker (Ford??) and objecting to it being sold in the UK [and it would appear Italy too!] as the Octavia RS. So, it's vRS here. Skoda's line on this is it's "V for Victory!" but probably more likely it's V for Very-expensive-to-run-a-legal-battle-on-this-but-easier-and-cheaper-to-just-change-the-badge
  8. Mine doesn't seem to do this either. Will check with the info given here, though - thanks all
  9. Mine's arrived! I picked it up today - before the dreaded computer shutdown - ordered in August, built on 29/10.
  10. It's vRS in the UK only, RS everywhere else. PS It's Pommie (as in Prisoner Of the Motherland), as Pomme is French for apple unless of course, it's an Aussie RS - Apple Killer!
  11. Does anybody else see the word "goose" when looking at the badge of a SAAB 900SE ???
  12. Trust me, your car WILL need regular cleaning off of the vom :P Regular travel sickness is a feature...I once didn't find a little bit of kiddy sick for a fortnight - then I lifted up the rear bench, ohmygoodness I nearly passed out at the smell... Carry some Febreze for good measure
  13. On my second iphone now - it's the best phone I've ever owned (had a 1st gen 8gb now a 3gs 32gb). As a total package that integrates each function with the other it's great. Plus the apps make it infinitely customisable, so i now have the phone I want, rather than the compromise that the manufacturer thinks will best-fit. Others might not agree, but it all depends on what you want. Unlimited data usage on the contract helps. Plus it's all paid for by my business so I get tax relief on the purchase price and also the monthly cost Enjoy!
  14. The quickest way is usually to get the dealer to assign the 59 plate as per normal, then to send the DVLA transfer form off yourself - no fee whatsoever It's a V750 I think.
  15. NOVEMBER HAS AN 'R' NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  16. Welcome! Hopefully you will read all of my posts which are mostly inane drivel and immature nonsense
  17. Ordered mine on 15 August with metallic paint, Auto lights/wipers, Maxidot and MDI - built on the 29/10 and ready for pickup next week
  18. My 05 mk5 golf did exactly the same! I live in an area that has lots of intermittent tree cover. The auto lights used to get so confused that I think people in front of me got the impression I had a real road rage problem Hope the new FL DRLs aren't as bad.
  19. Yes, that's true NOW, but until Skoda qualified their discount-speak, it was a relevant issue. EG If I sell a product for £10000+VAT at 15% that would be £11500. If the VAT rate changes, I would probably still sell my product (be it a car or whatever) for £10000+VAT at 17.5 = £11750. My terms of sale would probably state that any price given was subject to changes in the VAT rate, meaning I would not have to swallow the increase by reducing my profit margin. SUK had a choice - swallow the increase in VAT for cars delivered & paid for after 1/1/10 or insist on getting the extra price increase from the customer (& leaving a very bad taste in the customers' mouths). They've obviously chosen good customer relations and have extended the discount to 31/1/10, thereby making the discount 17.5% for the final month. Everybody got that? Good
  20. eh? Translation please?
  21. Just like to point out that I haven't voted EVER and won't! If you're the sort of person that wants to vote, then it's a bit of information for you - and it's free, so no need to fret about wasting a pound Now, having said all of that and obviously irking a few - perhaps we can concentrate on less important things, like world poverty...:tipspecs: EDIT: Please ignore all of the above...I haven't had my coffee yet
  22. I ordered mine on 15th August, so I guess this is the same for me - although the dealer has been next to useless in communicating :thumbdwn:
