  1. based on the vibrations etc and you stating your cv boot is ruined i would be looking toward your cv would expect there is no greasse left in itso worn and causing the vibrations which can be indicative of a bad cv.
  2. Mine was same was intermittent at first but got worse and finally would not lock was deffo the micro switch.
  3. sounds same as mine was and it was the microswitch on the lock you can replace those but in all honesty better to swop in a new lock it resolved it for me.
  4. Just a quick one any reason why on a lot of the parts data bases when i put in my reg it keeps saying my engine code is atz but its actually aqw ???

  6. Lol what's chav about wanting better visibility and lighting that does not blow like the conventional filament bulbs seems like I've upset the secret clan by daring to call out the grand pubar of this little bromance site.
  7. Just an upgrade to those very dim side repeaters they work really well and are direct plug and play and the company also does them in a smoked grey lens if thats your thing. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223844518320
  8. And that's where your telepathy skills miserably fail you as it happens I work in the car trade and am by no means a noob or hopeless bodger I'm just a person who likes to get as much info as possible before undertaking tasks so maybe take a quick look on your left shoulder and brush that chip off it then you may be a jolly pleasant fellow to converse with
  9. its the 14 quid postage that i object to lol.
  10. dohhhhh got it on site now thanks tmb
  11. parts maitenance and rust prevention are 2 totally different things sep and fyi no rust on my vehicle and before you say it yes ive had the bungs out and a endoscope inside to check. Personally I get joy from doing work on this vehicle and keeping a 22 year old car on the road I might say in a much better condition than a lot of cars I see only a few years old on the road. Im just not sure why you always feel the need to belittle or berate a person for wanting to do work on their car I can appreciate that your a very knowledable and talented mechanic but your people skills maybe not so much I dont really want to go buying another hub would rather buy the bracket but cant seem to find one mate.
  12. Yeah that's the bracket that's missing
  13. So it's all done I must say the hardest part is the ligning up and tightening the CV to flange bolts and I changed inner tie rods and doing it on Jack stands it's a pig to get the boots on and you have to use cable ties no way to crimp on the metal clips. I do have one issue though I stripped the n/s hub down and wire brushed it and treated it but I had taken off the small bracket that the brake hose clips into to hold it from flapping about but the missus thought it was scrap and put it out with the old parts and scrap man took it. I've no idea if one of these is buyable and I'm now concerned about the brake hose flapping about and if it gets damaged.
  14. it had a new wheel bearing 2 years ago so im surprised its that stuck the o/s just pulled straight out/

  18. i wanted to do a once over this weekend while its up on stands doing some under sealing as ive done a lot of suspension work thought i would check all the torques but ive lost my list i had written out lol.

  20. checked all the wires now all good and cleaned all contacts but the issue persists.
  21. Hi got a new silly issue when I open passenger door both front puddle lights come on as should be but when opening drivers door they now not coming on. Central locking and all that is working fine so any pointers please ???
  22. yeah was like dohhhhh rookie mistake lol.
  23. All sorted I had not pushed the plug connector together enough works great now thanks as always 😛
  24. i had used a tester on the wire and it showed 12v once reverse was selected.
  25. the camera is already earthed through the black wire and connector just had the loose red wire which states you connect to reverse light wire and will get the meter back out and test again.
