ok so just installing a dash cam and rear cam and there is a red wire it says you can splice into reverse lights this then activates the rear camera to view on lcd screen and acts as parking camera does anyone which colour wire i need to connect into please

Best solution is to get multimeter and disconnect plug from rear lights. Then with assist from someone when you find the wire with 0 volts put in reverse, when in reverse it should raise the voltage and that is your reverse wire.

I did just that it's the blue/black in case anyone else needs to know 😃

hmmmm well that did not work once connected when you go into reverse that camera should show feed but nothing but according to hayes manual and tester that black/blue wire was the hot wire for reverse lights stumped now any thoughts ????

Have you tested it with a meter for 12V when reverse is selected?

Where did you earth the module?

the camera is already earthed through the black wire and connector just had the loose red wire which states you connect to reverse light wire and will get the meter back out and test again.

i had used a tester on the wire and it showed 12v once reverse was selected.

All sorted I had not pushed the plug connector together enough works great now thanks as always 😛
