  1. The Silver Fab is my friends (not the slammed one). I was with all the fiestas parked up next to it....was a good do!
  2. Yes definitely agree there...same as the rest but more £££!
  3. I always find it amusing that after every 'how do i switch this safety system off' there's the accompanying 'why would you want to'. I appreciate that there are some plonkers out there who should not be allowed to switch it off (that's why it exists in the first place, no?) but there are some of us who can cog a car pretty well and don't want their shenanigans interfered with (in the controlled environment of a circuit, naturally). My track car has no electronic interference and it's not spat me in a hedge....yet To answer the OP question...I have ESP OFF coded on my mk3 VRS, haven't really used it much since i coded it in so will investigate whether it switches back on at 60MPH + today. There is a adaptation channel for ESP relating to speed from memory, but i haven't adjusted any of that, will see how ESP OFF behaves with speed and see how that channel differs from yours or not. Also interested how well the superb performs at the 'ring? I'm tempted to take my VRS just to say both my cars have done a lap
  4. If they're anything like their ford products, their maps won't be the most powerful option, but they may release some good bolt ons in due time. As mentioned before the only real reason people went for MT on the fords is to keep their warranty, without this for VAG, is there any point if they're more expensive? They did have some stunning products, the mk6 fiesta MR200 is still the 'holy grail' of OEM+ models of that car...with the mountune inlet selling second hand for around £2000-2500 alone! So maybe watch this space IMO....they may come out with some belting products. I believe they still do the Ford BTCC engines, so have some good background.
  5. Ok so fresh to the market, you have nothing else to go on obviously. So you'd have take a punt and hope. Stuff like PS4 has history to indicate it's probably going to be a good tyre. But I'd take individuals experiences en mass, or the general result of a thread/discussion over testing alone. You see it all the time in the track based and motorcycle discussions, industry tests normally say something completely different to the general user opinion and especially in the biking, everyone likes a different tyre! Although i do appreciate track and bike use is somewhat more sensitive to conditions etc etc.
  6. The point about the differing vehicles was more a point backing up the reason to ask a forum full of owners of that specific vehicle, rather than blindly following what some numpty from Autocar reckons is mint. Undoubtedly the PS4S is a very good tyre, i'm sure the OP would love them and i'm sure you've come to the conclusion that they're your favorite through thorough usage, but it's nice to get people's opinions on something as personal as tyres, in case you haven't thought of a particular brand/model. My point is that testing is a bit robotic and tyres are quite personal to how you like the car to behave. So just reading the tests isn't comprehensive enough for me.
  7. Seems the usual trash talk about tyres....*sigh* *Best* tyre is completely subjective....if you don't have a personal favorite you clearly don't use the car in a manner which pushes the tyres performance at all. And if you're just slapping PS4S on it because the sticker says they're mint, more fool you! Adding to that, different size, drivetrain and weight vehicles suit different tyres better depending on their construction and compound. There is something to be said about not spending over £500 on absolutely top end tyres. Not everyone needs PS4S levels of grip. As the OP said...they wanted people's general opinions.
  8. That'll be a good upgrade. Same size difference my Alcon's are over standard on the ST, albeit with a 4 pot caliper now but still a massive power advantage. Never get any fading issues even in the summer running a good pad and fluid
  9. Very nice, how much bigger are the focus ST brakes over standard c30?
  10. Thought there might be a thread for this on here...recently bought an OctyVRS as a daily so just joined the forum a few weeks back Had a cracking day in my FiestaST, track etiquette was super to say there was a lot of different levels of equipment there! Pic and video clip from the day If anyone has any pics of mine they're willing to share with me i'd be grateful! Thanks! Anth
