help finding a new bike
Bars seem secure enough, no issues with flex etc, hard to tell if they dampen out much, winter gloves so not too much feel. Grips are a smoother design than the wavy Whyte ones, I think I'll move them to Summer use, I think I need to go to a thicker grip, squeezing a bit too much. Tyres.... very muddy over here, need to play with the pressures Mavic rear wheel... Hub ratchet noise is louder than OEM but not Hope territory... Think French understated design chic 🙂 Bike is now suitably muddy all over

not tried the grips yet, only ever had the Whyte OEM ones, i'll report back as and when. bars are 31.8, £50 from CRC / Wiggle, not sure if i'd have paid £70+ just to swap Grips are a personal thing, what suits one may not suit another unless you have a few mates who can swap around with thicker/thinner/softer etc to try got them from Germany along with the rear wheel, no cheaper but as i was paying postage anyway..

just fitted Nukeproof Horizon CF 38 riser to my Whyte along with Ergon GA grips. as they were a decent price and i was looking for riser bars as i felt too much 'over the front', job done. new Vittoria Morsa's fitted as well as they've been in the cupboard for 9 months, again another offer too good to miss , the Forekaster's will go back on for Summer as still life left in them New wheel to sort of match the front i replaced a few months ago, Mavic Crossmax, front is Crossride, the only single wheel i could find in 142mm QR Yes, really needs a clean

How To Stop Our car being stollen throught OBD2 port ?
Is car theft a 'thing' in France as in UK? admittedly my 'maison secondaire' is in the sticks, maybe larger towns and cities? no one wanted my Skoda...left the keys in ignition for 3 days last year slightly OT but i'm surprised the piles of Bois de Chauffage never go missing

So it went in @ 8.30 and 2 phone calls so far..... Couldn't do 4 wheel alignment as rear bushes and front lower arm ones are fubar'd... Then next call was 1 rear shock 'slightly' weaping but should be ok Sod taking it back in, Nike advert strapline, Just Do It I reckon I'm in for at least £1350 🤭

MOT time...then wallet draining
I'm old school when it comes to servicing, well in so far as I'll do it 6k, 10k etc, none of this confusing long life/ variable malarkey I don't think about the 'box TBH, just let it do its thing when I hit the loud pedal 🙂 I find it occasionally hangs in 3rd but I'm sure the' 10 plate Leon we had did the same? That had paddles as well, again used once and found far too complicated having to remember which paddle did what 😃 For an auto box I prefer a slush one, my previous C5 had an Aisin 6 sp, proper comfort

Oh well....
We had for 4 Caddy's at work at one stage, 2x 63 plate and 2x 15 plates, all once over 100k have had at least 1 injector, a 15 plate one had 2 within 3 months and glow plugs on all 4, the newer ones appeared to be more susceptible to the faults. None showed any signs beforehand, fine one day, duff the next

Unknown noise.
Check the rear tyres for 'saw toothing' if everyone is saying bearings are OK. Just run your fingers over the outer/inner edges
-
VAG Bluetooth, microphones and after market headunits
just disconnect the under seat module if the HU is working ok? i did that with mine and have no issues with errors plus the car now no longer searches for phones when ignition is on

Briski cyclists?!
my usual routes are not quite so scenic 😢 I was 'gifted' £500 to spend on anything i wanted so..... the bike i 'exported' to France and swore not to spend too much on it, ye right! the forks were pogo sticks so courtesy of Bike24 Germany it now has Rockshox Recon solo air's and ready to go back to France after a good service and new chain. forks are also over a Kilo lighter so as i originally had the Whyte as a replacement for the no-spend Felt i felt guilty so decided a fork upgrade was also needed 🙄 nothing available new so off to the Bay of e we went....Fox factory 34 kashima's from France £380! these are also lighter by 700g's so as i was sorting out 2 bikes at the same time obviously something would go awry...turns out 110 boost doesnt fit into a 100 fork...oops! so it was either a DT Swiss hub or similar and rebuild the rim or a new wheel(set) ? very low stock anywhere of anything remotely able to fit front and rear so Bike24 to the rescue again. Mavic Crossride front £78, ordered Sun pm, arrived from Germany Wed pm all now sorted Mavic decals are too brash for me so will be stripped gonna take some setting up the Fox's....air, sag, rebound's, compression Oh yes, budget? blown obviously by at least £100
