Bilstein B6 vs B4
Yes seems that it's just valving. B6 and b6 damptronic are apples and oranges. I've put in B4 damptronic and at first I couldn't tell the difference in the different modes sport normal comfort. I now can after a period but some say it shouldn't change...it seemed to loosen up for me. I'm not ecstatic about comfort mode....it's better than the wallowing originals but not as great as I would like...I have 4wd which some reporters say makes things worse v 2wd. What I would say is I'd imagine the b6 to offer no real advantages. The sport mode in B4 is stiff as a board so with the b6 you would probably get the same in sport and a stiffer comfort mode.

Bilstein B6 vs B4
You can download a bilstein app and put in the car. You will get the shocks available. The damptronics are twin tube.

Bilstein B6 vs B4
This is not the case with the damptronic versions which Mr Fizz is enquiring about.

Bilstein B6 vs B4
B6 are yellow and B4 black. The B6 are marketed as more sporty. Slightly more expensive than B4 but not much in it. Internals the same quality wise.

Bilstein B6 vs B4
B6 are harder than the B4 so definitely B4 for comfort.

Bilstein B6
Thanks for looking. The shocks I bought are b4 damptronic shocks. They are the like for like replacement shocks for DCC suspension whereas the b16 are much firmer. See photo

Bilstein B6
The guy at Bilstein was very clear. He said he'd been doing it for years. If there were no errors appearing I would have to take the dampers off the car and send them in to be tested. He said that was the "only way" they could be tested. I guess I would warn people that they are very much on their own buying these dampers as Bilstein practically speaking don't want to know. I am wondering whether there is a plug and play issue with these dampers and it needs new software or what. It's all very frustrating.

Bilstein B6
Ask me to take the car to them and they could test drive it and see it is obviously not working.

Bilstein B6
I have installed the Bilstein b4. There are no errors in in the damping on Obd 11. However there is no difference between the modes and it’s basically hard. I even pulled out the fuse for the electronic damping and the damping remained the same. I called Bilstein UK who told me that if there are no errors I would have to take the damper off the car and send it to them for testing….they couldn’t tell otherwise. Highly impractical. They basically couldn't care less if there were no errors. I’m starting to feel like I’ve been scammed as I have no active suspension now. Are they just pedalling non active suspension as active?

How-to: DCC Recalibration
Could somebody run the live data test in wheel dampening. I'm trying to work out if this test result (last test in OBD eleven) is normal

I have recalibrated the DCC...screenshot is after that.

Well took it out for a decent spin and I can’t tell any difference between the modes. I’ve reset it, taken it back to the installation garage who couldn’t find an issue. The only strange thing I’ve found is this on Obd 11. Anyone know about this?

The electrics are all fitted. I've checked that. So I'm not sure what mistake they could have made. Bilstein sell these as plug and play.

Hi well a bit of a palavar as one of the shocks came without the electronic cable and took a week for Eurocarparts to come through. Anyway everything now fitted but at the moment I cannot tell the difference between the different modes. I've run obd 11 but says it has no faults. I'm a bit stumped and will probably take it to a Skoda dealer. They cost £380 just to install (seems steep?) at the local garage. So a bit frustrated at the moment.

Dog crate and roof rails for a 17 plate Superb MkIII Estate?
Not disputing your flying forward argument. The point I’m making is different strokes. If I do have an accident my lab will be lying down so will hit against the back of the back seat which I’ve also put cushions on which is much more preferable to a steel cage. If you have an upper steel cage in the boot I still think the concept of it stopping a dog flying through is a bit of an edge case but assuming it does happen wouldn’t you want it smashing against something other than steel bars?

I'm not sure your Alsatian would share your enthusiasm about his crash protection!

Dog crate and roof rails for a 17 plate Superb MkIII Estate?
My lab sits in her bed in the estate boot.. My jack Russell/whippet I simply chain to one of the hooks in the boot to keep her there. I can’t really see the point in all these metal bars. I’d actually say they make are probably dangerous for the dogs as they would be for humans.

Bilstein B6 DCC shock absorbers available at last
I've just bought bilstein B4 shocks 238978 and 238988....I got them from Eurocarparts for 780 for 4. The 988 part is not listed for mine on the bilstein site (7520 listed) It used to be listed for the 110kw superb but now 7520 is listed for both 110 and 140 kw. I've checked with Eurocarparts and larkspeed and both say the 988 is ok for my 140 kw 4*4 estate. Not sure why they would be different. Is it different codes for the same thing? Anyway getting them installed tomorrow and will report what happens. I'm hoping the suspension will be less bouncy in comfort and less noisy overall. I went for B4 rather than b6 as I've seen reports that b6 may render sports mode too harsh in DCC and bilstein B4 is firmer than OEM anyway. Any comments on the code differences welcomed.

Front parking sensors
Yes. I got round to testing the other sensors and they all worked. I had a bad sensor

Front parking sensors
If you have radar how many front parking sensors are there? I found one at the side of the car but the first front one appears to be a dummy.

Stop Start Button
I drenched the button in wd40 contact cleaner...pushing the button inwards and trying to spray in. Did a few times and button fine now

Worst suspension in car ownership
I have a 4wd DCC estate. My only complaint is the noisiness of the suspension on rough roads more than the handling (sport mode helps) Should Bilstein B6 help? I've looked and I can't find a relevant review even for other cars.
