  1. Don't want to tempt fate but since last October (a month after I took the car into the dealer) the Auto Hold has been working OK. Also the park brake has been auto releasing as I would expect it to, which has never happened since I took delivery in April 2021. Very strange.
  2. The dealer I bought my Karoq from told me about the 'K' prefix on the numberplate for VAG management vehicles. He also mentioned that they had obtained a large number of late registration cars used by a car rental company to boost the stock. They were registered G******. Appears a number of other dealers had done the same at the time so If anyone is looking at a used car with a 'G' prefix, check it out first. One careful former owner ABC Car Rental!
  3. Just returned from four nights away with the caravan in the Peak District. Car ran fine. Only issue was the blasted Auto Hold. Intermittent all the time. Peak District isn't the flattest part of the world so would be handy to have it serviceable. Turned it off and used the Park Brake (Hope the EPB actuators are up to the job long term). I'll try speaking to another dealer and see what answers I get on Software updates etc. Managed to get just over 40mpg on the info screen whilst towing the van (engine is a 2.0 TDI) so happy with that, never had more than 32 mpg out of any tow car in the 28 years we've been caravaning.
  4. Very simular. Looks like the same location. Time to chase the dealer up on my issue.
  5. So, went to the dealer this afternoon for this issue and an issue with the paint (subject of another post). The Technician took the car for a run and.........couldn't fault it. I went out with him and same result, although the brakes did seem did seem to bind now and again when taking up drive. He mentioned that no fault codes came up so nothing to go on. Also they were not aware of any Software fix as mentioned earlier in this post. To cap it all the auto hold stuck on again twice within a few miles after leaving the dealer. Not impressed at all especially after they stated there was no Software fix. The Technician's method of clutch control etc. Was no different to mine. I'll wait until it goes in for the paint fix and get them to look again. My last two Skodas with auto hold had no problems at all.
  6. Well, had it in at the dealer this afternoon and they confirm its a warranty issue. They just need to work out the process for the repair. Imagine I'll need to chase them up in a week or So!
  7. Anyone had issues with creeking trim around the Infotainment screen? It's just the silver grey trim around the screen the rest in front of the passenger seems to fit fine.
  8. Don't have an inflation kit, spare wheel. It's all the other bits and bobs I have collected over the years that I tend to use for camping etc. Best option a semi permanent cable from the boot socket I think. Job for this weekend. Good to know they managed to fit the pump with a long lead!
  9. This was option B. Even if i knew how the console came out there may not be the space or clearance to mount a socket permanently. I have the parts to do either option just need the time at the moment. Cannot understand why they didn't fit one. Not everything can be powered of USB.
  10. Don't suppose anyone has tried to fit an additional 12V socket to the console area? Anyone any clues on how to remove the console? My tyre inflator won't reach from the boot to the front wheels and I have a few other items with a 12v jack plug on. Appreciate there are USB ports with 12v supplies but not much use for inflating tyres or pulling more than a few Amps. All the best.
  11. Going off the subject here a bit but I wouldn't say Rubbish at all.
  12. Got me on that one........poorly engineered spell checker on my phone
  13. Hope you're not waiting too long for a solution and on the road soon. All the best.
  14. I believe anything these days with the motor trade. Standards and customer care is lousy. I work in the aviation industry. We have to get it right fist time no excuses. There's no lay-by's and emergency phones to ring for help if you have a problem when flying at 500 knots at low altitude!
  15. Well, Auto Hold has not worked at all for two days now so I called the dealer to book it in (also for the poor paint job mentioned on a previous post). Unbelievably it started to work again this morning!!!!. Should I not be surprised? Oh the joys of motoring.
  16. Thanks for the replies. Reading Skodamias's comment I'll ring the dealer tomorrow. Auto Hold was totally unusable driving home tonight. They can look at this and the spurious failed right-hand DRL warning I'm getting. Thanks guys.
  17. I know this has been highlighted a number of times with various models on the forums but don’t seem to be able to find a fix other than ‘take it back to the dealer’ and 'no fault found'. From new last April, my Auto Hold (not hill hold) has been temperamental, quite often it does not want to release. The last couple of days it’s been hopeless. At traffic lights this morning I went to move off and the car wouldn’t budge. An impatient van behind, nearly went into the back of me! For now I’ve turned it off before there's an accident! Anyone had issues with the Auto Hold on their Octavia Mk 4? The niggling faults on this car are unbelievable. I have a list for the dealer! All the best, Chris
  18. Mines just developed an annoying rattle from somewhere between the centre air vents and the display unit. Anyone seen anything similar? A bit tired of the number of quality issues I'm getting.
  19. Lee8810 did you mention the paint to the dealer? Was your car an early production model? I did a tour of Landrover Halewood a few years ago and I was impressed by the quality checks on the initial daily production runs for panel pressing and paint. My two Freelander Mk2s had excellent paintwork (yes its Landrover I'm talking about!). Looks like Skoda have had quite a few quality issues.
  20. No sign of any overspray at all. I'll contact the dealer. If Brighton Octavia noticed it on his maybe not an isolated issue. Poor Quality Control though.
  21. Just washing the car and noticed a few blemishes to the paintwork in the area where the left side panel is welded to the roof panel, between the B and C pillars. Not sure if this is due to poor welding, poor paint or the start of corrosion! Its only on one side. Tried prodding with a wooden skewer and the 'bubbles' seem softish but do not break and no obvious sign of rust. The photo shows the issue as well as I can describe. Anyone seen this before? Thanks, Chris
  22. Anyone bought a pair of roof bars for the Mk4 Estate/Combi. I've been looking but never had a car with the flush rails before and don't look as secure as the raised rails on my old Karoq. Any advice on what to look for. Thanks, Chris
  23. Seems like most of the Petrols if the sales literature is to be believed.
  24. This is wait the wait was for!
  25. The towbar fitter demonstrated everything when I collected the car and the sensors etc. Work OK. I opted for a standard Swan Neck
