  1. Do you happen to know a part number or where to find one? Is it hard to swap? Could I just 'clean off' the corrosion, even if it just left the bare black plastic but worked I wouldn't really care, my car is just a family wagon and don't get to look after it as I would like Thanks again
  2. Hi all, any advice welcome. 2015 Octavia 3 elegance. My front drivers side sensor is intermittently but more often than not, detecting something which isn't there. It activates under about 15mph and beeps, it's very annoying in traffic or when actually trying to park. It thinks something is close as the line is red on the display. I've checked and no fault codes stored on odb 11 but I've found some setting which could reset it? Not sure so haven't tried photo attached Also the physical sensor looks like it has corrosion on it, could this be the issue..? Photo attached. Are they easy to replace? Colour coded black with the car? Help appreciated and the first real annoying fault I've had in 5 years so fingers crossed it's not the start of something
  3. i'd love them if you're local. where about are you please?
  4. is this just the chrome surround? just buy one already painted and 'break' the old one to get it out. all without removing the bumper. trust me plastidip the chrome does not work
  5. The way his exhaust was screaming he was certainly flooring it. It was from 60mph onwards. After searching the reg he has no MOT or insurance - driving it like he stole it, maybe he had! The way this is going i might have to upload my dashcam footage !
  6. really?! i thought it automatically installed neons and a big spoiler. He had his foot down believe me
  7. Did you ever get the remap done? Ridiculously I was driving with a 2018 Audi S3 on the way to work this morning and my Octavia was VERY well matched, he couldn't get away (he must have been ****sssssed as my Elegance looks totally stock)
  8. Would they fit an octavia 3 !? hopeful
  9. Honestly I can't see there being a risk. I can still see the mechanics face and smile when he handed me the keys back and I asked if the map went on ok (his smirk "oh I think you'll notice the difference!") I now want stage 2 but they don't do it for this engine!
  10. It's really hard to describe. It's better on all three, low pick up, mid range and then top end it just keeps pulling like a train. Off the line speed with the DSG will leave most standing, it makes my car almost feel like 4 wheel drive, it completely changes how the car pulls but somehow it's still smooth and has actually increased my MPG. My car insurance only went up £30 a year so i suggest you declare it (Esure) The remap cost me £399+VAT. I will get every car I have remapped in the future No more regens and def no error codes. It's been on for 2 months now - flawless
  11. I've recently gone Revo stage one on the same engine DSG. It's night and day better - do it, you won't regret it
  12. sounds a nightmare. Return it for a higher spec'd car
  13. I had this.. hope my thread will help
  14. Hi all, i've purchased a genuine boot lip spoiler for my hatch, it's primed and i want to match it with my 2015 black. i believe the paint code is 9910. Where is the best place to buy a decent product and lacquer? Ebay has hundreds but i don't trust it much these days... paintnuts.co.uk is another but £30 for 400ml seems expensive... any other suggestions? thanks
  15. Thanks for this. I did use the search before posting - honest! I'll see what it does when i finish work. As long as it's nothing blindingly obvious.
  16. Morning all, For some reason my maxidot display has turned orange when scrolling through different menus. I've had the car 3+ years and it's never ever done this. Any ideas what's going on? Video below
  17. So the output was dim again. I took the light out again and found the lamp had burnt itself damaging the bulb holder. I had to try and scrape a fair bit of corrosion / burn off the bulb holder to get the new lamp to light up at full brightness. What would cause this? I'm guessing it would be good to replace the whole black bulb holder with new. Anyone know if this would cause an issue? looks like part number 184 772 01 ? the new lamp is working as it should for now,
  18. my mistake. I thought you were new to the car not new to the forum. I missed when you said owned from new. Good luck, i hope it's a cheap and easy fix
  19. no warranty? Get it back to the garage to fix all these faults if so
  20. An update for the record books. I took the light out of the car (a right pain in the arse, why is it so tight. VW's have a much better system) and found no water. Took the light apart and the bulb out, a small piece of black plastic was inside the lens possibly blocking the lamp and it's light output. All put back together and works perfectly. A strange one. The new lamp (H21W) from Amazon will sit in the garage in case it does blow. thanks
  21. I'll have a look on Thursday or at the weekend. This sounds like my issue, the lamp seems to be back to 90% brightness from 20% brightness on Sunday.. Thanks
  22. Hi all, My nearside rear light has a dimmer area than the rest of the C shape (the bottom section) I can see the lamp is on but dimmer than the rest. Is this a bulb replacement job or something to do with me activating the second rear fog light. The rear fog light works as it should, and when i activated it via OBD Eleven, i made sure all the lamps were set to 100% light output as per instructions. I'm not sure if this is something new or has happened since i activated the rear fog. I am slightly confused to which lamp it would be, is that one the w5w or the H21W ? Access looks tricky, there dosen't seem to be an opening flap within the boot to get inside? Thank you
