  1. So i've narrowed this down. it seems to only happen after i've used the electric window, and the noise happens at no set time after using it. It sort of sounds like a spring or something under tension releasing. Any other ideas?
  2. I've finally had time to sort a couple of the creaks/rattles in the car. 1. knee area when revs were over 2.5k. This turned out to be the ODB port plug rattling within the plastic trim. I removed the small cubby hole by pulling the bottom out and unclipping the ODB port before wrapping it in some fabric tape. Put back in and the rattle is gone! 2. The armrest. Took it apart and out of the car, stuck some felt all over the underside of the leather top, but it was too thick to clip back into place. I ended up taking it off and cutting small 1" long strips and placed them randomly around the arm rest. I then covered the whole of the underside plastic trim in fabric tape, including wrapping every single clip. Pushed it together with a bit of force and it's done. completley silent and wow does it change the feel of the car - much more premium. 3. around the lights / emergency buttons / cubby for sunglasses. That trim almost fell off when i pulled it - more fabric tape around it and its no longer making a noise when driving. all in all happy boy today who loves the car more than ever. Just the clicking brake pedal to sort!!
  3. I have odb eleven, would that be able to wind them back? More than happy to change them myself and have done multiple brakes before Thanks
  4. Hi all, the driver's side rear brake looks like this. The brake pad on this side doesn't seem to be making full contact with the disc, the disc shield is also fairly corroded for a 2020 car. Is there a common issue with this or do you know why it may be happening? The car has only done 14k miles, but since I've had it 3 months I've covered 3k enthusiastic miles, with plenty of braking, including heavy to test them out. They do feel less effective than my octavia and are at least 100% worse than my wife's mk 7.5 golf. I'm under the approved used warranty - would this cover anything thanks
  5. Hey did you get this sorted in the end? I'm trying to book in to my local skoda garage but they are hopeless and don't email back
  6. Thank you. Amazon have delivered, part fitted, under tray is no longer hanging! hurrah
  7. Something like this? Would these work
  8. Hi all, My dad just followed me driving and said something is hanging down at my car's rear left. It seems a piece of the plastic under-tray covering the exhaust has had a fixing fall or rust through. When I push it back up, an existing metal 'screw' is sticking out and goes through a square hole in the under-tray plastic. What fixing do I need to get it back attached? I've just ordered these from Amazon but they may not be the right ones photo of the underside of the car / bolt / screw sticking out. It does seem to have a square piece still attached to the screw which may or may not need to come off? I'll be doing this squeezing under the car off the kerb. Thanks!
  9. Did you just post this on Reddit? That or I've just read two posts complaining of the same noise
  10. Can't see it being the boot. The noise happens a few minutes after being stationary and randomly happens if the car has been driven or not. I spend a lot of time waiting around for my kids to finish clubs or classes so sit in the car and hit Duolingo. At first, I thought someone had thrown something at the car. very odd
  11. Hi all, I've noticed a random strange noise which seems to be coming from inside the drivers' side door. The noise happens randomly and does so when the car is running but stationary in a car park or when turned off and sitting in the car park. The noise can only be described as 'if you were sitting under a carport with icy slush on top, then the ice melts just enough for it to fall off of the roof and hit the door' Almost a wooshing banging type of noise - could it be something to do with the lock mechanism? What else could be causing such a random noise Superb mk3 L&K diesel 14k miles
  12. have you not tried turning down the sub?
  13. change music on the Spotify app to play at 'very high' quality. turn down the subwoofer it has a separate setting
  14. How are you playing music? I found this on Spotify via Android Auto. Go into the Spotify settings on the app and change the streaming quality to very high. Mine was set on automatic which changed the quality to low which made the music sometimes sound rubbish where as the day before it sounded fantastic. I'm very happy with the Canton - it was one of the main reasons I went for an L&K
  15. are your lights turned on
  16. front assist saved me from rear ending a car when driving home from the airport at 3am, via a diversion on some back roads, the car in front stopped at a mini round about to give way to nobody. I was tired and a it was a bit foggy and would have hit him without it. i can't be the only one who likes having it?
  17. have you popped the sim card out? Mine didn't have a SIM in it when I got it, I have a separate o2 plan for just the car maybe your plan has ended?
  18. Thanks all. UPDATE: 1. Auto hold brake pedal click noise. Still doing it - I will book it in to be checked after Christmas. a gentle release of the pedal and it doesn't click.. 2. rattle behind the driver seat. It sounds like its coming from inside the B pillar or somewhere in the rear of the car. I wrapped electrical tape around the rear door latch, rear seat latch and isofix latch point. One of the 3 areas with tape it has now stopped the rattle hurrah! 3. rattle when revs are over 3k from under the steering column. Sounds like plastic on plastic vibrating when i put my foot down a bit. seems to have solved itself - I did get down and have a look and pushed a piece of rubber back onto a clip. 4. lack of radio control when using android auto. I can't even see what station i'm listening to on the screen wtf? Don't get me started on no Waze on the speedo screen.. Getting used to it now, using the speedo screen 5. updating the maps - its stuck on 2020, i've tried downloading and updating via SD card in both slot 1 and 2 and the car doesn't seem to be able to find the files I've now updated this via SD card. I used a windows machine to format and unzip rather than my MacBook. Worked first time 6. lag when trying to turn on heated seat / steering wheel when first starting the car. it takes a good 15 seconds for the pop up on the screen to show me the heated, cooled and steering wheel controls. this seems to be okay now, if I give it a few seconds before pressing it it's ok 7. lane assist - take over steering beep beep - i'm going in a straight line! i have to move the wheel left or right to stop the alert, why isn't there a sensor that i'm holding the wheel? I'm now used to this, a very very slight movement either way, not affecting the direction of the car stops the alert 8. The lack of a back button on the information system - want to go from background lighting to the settings menu. NOPE go all the way back to menu, settings, scroll to where you were is what it is Another issue I've encountered - storing seat positions, for some reason my car needs a double press of the SET button then 1 2 or 3 for it to store. Finally figured it out after lots of trying! air care - why isn't this always on? I have to go in via menu to turn it on
  19. I've just bought the car, it's only done 11k on a 69 plate - I do 11k+ each year.
  20. is there a fix for this? Mine does it and it makes the car feel cheap af. Are dealers interested in fixing under warranty? Also - is it just my car or are the brakes just not that great. I've come from an octavia which is lighter overall, but it seems the brakes have a different set up, almost progressive rather than 'on / off' brake fluid changed 6k ago in jan 2023. thanks
  21. how did you update yours? USB stick or SD card? my car isn't able to read the update software from SD card
  22. Hi all, I've recently upgraded my Octavia 3 and now have a 2020 L&K TDI with low mileage and FSH. from a main Skoda dealer so i've got warranty i've been so impressed with the car so far, but have a few small niggles and noises i'd like to seek advice about, in order of annoyance: 1. Auto hold brake pedal click noise. When the car stops and i take my foot off the brake, the car holds but as soon as my foot lifts completely off, the pedal makes a rather loud click noise. When auto hold is off it doesn't happen Anyone else had this and know the fix? 2. rattle behind the driver seat. It sounds like its coming from inside the B pillar or somewhere in the rear of the car. It wasn't there when i first got the car 500 miles or so ago. any key places to check? I will try getting in the back with my wife driving soon to ear up a few areas to locate it.. 3. rattle when revs are over 3k from under the steering column. Sounds like plastic on plastic vibrating when i put my foot down a bit. nothing seems loose and i am yet to get stuck in to look under.- is there a common issue here? 4. lack of radio control when using android auto. I can't even see what station i'm listening to on the screen wtf? Don't get me started on no Waze on the speedo screen.. 5. updating the maps - its stuck on 2020, i've tried downloading and updating via SD card in both slot 1 and 2 and the car doesn't seem to be able to find the files 6. lag when trying to turn on heated seat / steering wheel when first starting the car. it takes a good 15 seconds for the pop up on the screen to show me the heated, cooled and steering wheel controls. 7. lane assist - take over steering beep beep - i'm going in a straight line! i have to move the wheel left or right to stop the alert, why isn't there a sensor that i'm holding the wheel? 8. The lack of a back button on the information system - want to go from background lighting to the settings menu. NOPE go all the way back to menu, settings, scroll to where you were all in all i'm still really glad i upgraded, the comfort, matrix headlights and stereo are worth it alone!
  23. Morning all, Apologies if this isn't allowed but I'm currently overwhelmed with the variety available in this beautiful model of car so I'm looking for advice to help me whittle down search criteria. I currently drive an Octavia hatch Mk3 2.0 TDI Elegance with stage 1 Revo remap, with 88k on the clock. I'm looking for a superb to improve ride comfort, seat comfort and to give me more boot space for growing kids bikes and gear. Must haves - comfortable suspension, comfortable seats, heated seats, decent stereo, as quick as the Octavia, auto cruise control which stops and re starts in traffic (the Octavia will stop but needs foot on the brake after a second) auto high beam, quiet for long trips Would like - auto parking (as the Octavia has it) cheap tax (Octavia is £30 pa) estate model any help on what spec to look for, which engine, and any issues to avoid would be much appreciated. thank you in advance
