  1. Ah yes sorry! I'd assumed the query related to speccing options and a factory order......... At the right price I would have it, it's unlikely to have suffered unless it was in a salty atmosphere, but perishables, like the tyres, are already a year old. But that seems fairly standard nowadays, I've bought vans, caravans, motorbikes that have stood (new) in compounds or dealers, not had any problems yet, touchwood, and my camper & motorbikes stand idle for nearly 6 months of the year.....
  2. Has a dealer actually told you that you can factory order a Mk 3 for September delivery. The impression is that offers relate now to stock cars .......
  3. Do the electric windows still go up & down ok? I fitted "genuine suzuki" ones years ago to a Vitara but the windows wouldn't go up or down they were so tight in the channels, I ended up being given a refund......
  4. Good luck. I tried to order my VRS with the heated windshield and was told that would require a factory order with a lead time of 12-16 weeks. I suspect by then they will be cancelling orders as they start MkIV production......
  5. I know what you mean. Our other car is the 1.5TFSI 150 in the Audi A3. We swapped to that from a Polo 1.8GTi and a Golf GTD. The Audi feels as though it has as much useable power as the other two cars. Certainly not on paper, but out on the road it does so. The smaller capacity turbo units are certainly sweet to drive...
  6. Interesting. We have a June 2017 Audi A3 1.5TFSI which I believe is the same engine? It can give a hicup on the first start of the day on a cold engine, but nothing at all like described above...? Would Audi be using different software on the same engine, or have we just been lucky...?
  7. Brilliant, yes, just watched the installation video! Now added to my mods list! Thanks!
  8. I took delivery of a VRS245 Estate yesterday. I'd gone through Carwow who put me in touch with a fairly local dealer. I wanted to add a couple of options and was told that this would need a factory order and the lead time was around 16 weeks. I wanted black or quartz grey. I was offered a choice of two estates in the country neither with the options I wanted and in the end opted for a black one with spare wheel. I got mine then a week after putting a deposit on the one of the two offered. I'm actually chuffed to have got my choice of colour, I can live (just!) without the other options I would have liked! Over on the Audi forum there are tales of orders for new A3's being cancelled as the factory tools up for the new model. I have a feeling that if I had waited for a factory order Octavia I would not have got a MY19 but simply been added to the waiting list for the MkIV, with a commensurate price increase no doubt.......?
  9. Your bonnet struts are a great improvement, is this a kit from somewhere or have you fabricated everything yourself...?
  10. I have seen this discussed over on the Audi forums several times, there are various devices around similar to this........ https://www.kufatec.com/en/coding-diagnosis/kufatec-coding-dongle/coding-dongle-disable-start/stop-for-vw-seat-skoda-audi-40019
  11. Evening folks! Very excited, I've just put a deposit on a brand spanker VRS245 Estate in Black, with spare wheel. can't wait to get it....! It's been a long journey to finally see the great value of the Skoda brand. We've had a new Seat, several new & used VW's (GTi & GTD) an Audi TT & Audi A3 Sportback Black Edition. We went and looked at a Golf GTi last week but didn't like it (the VC) then went to a Skoda dealer and sat in a VRS estate & hatch. It immediately felt right and the Estate seemed best for the dog & my work stuff. Looking forward to joining in the discussions, I was aware of the forum, it gets mentioned in other places as a great source of knowledge & info! Thanks Phil
