  1. I have a manual TSi VRS ( thank goodness!) but my daughter has just bought the new Polo GTi with DSG but I understand that has the DQ250 box............ But can I just say what an interesting and informative thread and thank you to those who have contributed.....
  2. The VAG cars use fan jet washers. Supposedly you need the screenwash designed for fan jets. There is much chatter on the forums as to whether this is true or not.........
  3. Are the 19" extremes for sale on here....?
  4. I've had this on just about every car I've ever owned, I'm surprised you haven't encountered it before...? If the brakes are wet, from weather or washing, if I put the car in the garage I leave the handbrake off and maybe chock the wheel, or if the car is outside we have a portion of gravel drive where I just leave it in gear. If it's on the tarmac part I leave the handbrake on and yes it will stick sometimes.....
  5. https://www.quora.com/Horsepower-What-happens-when-toluene-is-added-to-the-gasoline-in-a-car I had no idea what you were talking about until I read this, does it help at all...... Sounds as though it won't be easy to go from 91 to 99 RON....?
  6. There is a plug on the negative terminal of the battery. There is a thread running on another forum that says if you disconnect that it disables the stop start ( it is something to do with the voltage monitoring). Several people seem to have tried it successfully, but the odd one where it hasn't worked..... I haven't got round to trying it on mine ( because I usually remember to press the stop start button when I first get in the car....)
  7. I've got a 245 Octy and a 245 Golf and neither have the top cover..........
  8. Isn't Citroen going to be Fiat now..... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-50834384 Good luck on the customer service front then.......🙄
  9. My VRS came with an umbrella............🙂 And it was in the little drawer thingy under the passenger seat....... .
  10. I replaced the header tank on an Audi TT because the existing one the plastic had become discoloured and it looked 5h1t when you opened the bonnet ...🙄 I sucked out as much coolant as possible with a turkey baster into a jug then just unclipped the hoses, swapped it over and refilled the new header . Took less than 10 minutes. Oh, the engine was cold whilst I did it.......
  11. Fair play for answering a revived year old thread so quickly.......
  12. And perhaps a dose of WD40 or even washing up liquid.......
  13. There is a discussion ongoing on the GTi Forum and that is what they are saying, yes......
  14. I'm guessing that they are only really interested in the mileage at the end of the PCP period as that is when they receive the car back ( unless you pay the final payment, in which case they won't care). The annual limit would come into play if you failed or chose not to keep up the payments and return the car early. Again there would be a penalty payment ( is it around 10.8p per mile?) if you were over the designated mileage. In terms of annual checks otherwise there aren't any on other vehicles and motorbikes I have had on a PCP...
  15. I assumed it was a cold diesel when I started playing the video, then noticed you say its the 1.5 petrol. It certainly doesn't sound right, but that maybe where the microphone is. I would get a garage/RAC/AA/Skoda assist to look at it as advised above....
  16. My 245 has shiny exhaust tips, as standard from the factory.
  17. Looking on Supaskoda it is supposed to be the 101A that fits the FL models. Strange they don't fit your 69 plate...?? Interested as I wouldn't mind a set myself. Washed the car on Sunday, and one 40 mile round trip to work today and it's minging....!
  18. Enjoy your new car. We all have to shop around for the deal that best suits us and a car that suits the time of our lives, children, dogs, caravans or maybe the luxury of none of those ! Maybe the new 296bhp VRS will tempt you back in 3 years time...!
  19. . A regular thread..... Here was last weeks.....😉
  20. Mine does this ( they all do...??). After my initial concern I have come to enjoy it, putting down a smokescreen behind me, it always reminds me of the early James Bond films...!
  21. Probably not something people need to worry about yet.........😉 https://www.skoda-auto.com/company/importers
  22. It doesn't make any sense in the UK, certainly wouldn't look cool in the UK, and might not pass an MOT? But the OP seems to state he isn't in the UK....... Even elsewhere in Europe they drive around up to 3 up on scooters, ride with flip flops, t shirt & shorts, everybody drives whilst on the phone and often drive like loons ( try pulling out of Naples airport in a hire car!) Perhaps we have to accept that maybe wherever the OP is, in the grand scheme of things, this won't make much difference !
