  1. wheel-size.com has the following information on the VW ID.3 Volkswagen ID.3 2020 Wheel fitment guide Please, note: highlighted items are for OEM wheels Tire Rim Bolt pattern EV 201hp 215/55R18 7.5Jx18 5x112 215/50R19 7.5Jx19 ET50 5x112 215/45R20 7.5Jx20 5x112 So it looks like the offset for the 18" rims will be around ET50. However, wheel-size.com do often make mistakes so check with other sources. I expect the hub centre bore will be 57.1mm like most VW group cars. The online parts catalogue for the Skoda Octavia MK3 lists 7.5Jx17 rims with an offset of ET51, 7.5Jx18 rims with an offset of ET51, and 7.5Jx19 rims with an offset of ET51. I suspect the VW ID.3 18" steel rims will have a similar offset. 3. The diameter of the front brake discs are easy to measure. 4. Google "SKODA MATO 6JX15 ET38" for photos of these rather attractive 15" alloy rims that were fitted to some Skoda Fabia MK3 cars. https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/6v00714958z8-aluminium-disc-15-mato-skoda-31480.html Lots of sensible tyre sizes will fit these rims, including 185/60R15, 185/65R15, 195/55R15, 195/60R15, or you may even be able to squeeze in 205/55R15. The 1.2TSI is one of the lower powered Yeti's, so I expect that it is fitted with 288mm diameter front discs and therefore 15" wheels should clear the front brake calipers. Good quality 205/70R15 tyres are much cheaper than the other two sizes and give a more comfortable ride as well as more mpg. All of these three tyre sizes have the same outside diameter so the gearing won't change whatever size you choose. 205/70R15 is not a standard tyre size on the Yeti. It may not be legal in some countries like Germany that have very strict laws on the fitment of non-standard tyre sizes.
  6. Rather than old rusty rims, here are some new ones for the Kodiaq. Alcar 9021 Steel Rims 6.5Jx17 ET38 5/112 57.1 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/alcar/14750807?search=ALCAR Rim Rims (9021) Alcar 132800 Steel Rims 6.5Jx17 ET38 5/112 57.1 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/alcar/14750387?search=ALCAR Rim Rims (132800) Alcar 132801 Steel Rims 6.5Jx17 ET41 5/112 57.1 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/alcar/14750388?search=ALCAR Rim Rims (132801) Standard tyre size for the Kodiaq on these rims is 215/65R17. However, you could also fit non-standard 235/60R17 tyres instead. These wider tyres have the same outside diameter as the narrower 215/65R17 tyres. The standard load index of 215/65R17 tyres is 99 (775kg) and the standard load index of 235/60R17 tyres is 102 (850kg). Therefore you can run 235/60R17 tyres about 0.2 Bar (3psi) lower than 215/65R17 tyres. 7. How close a tyre is to the suspension has nothing to do with the track measurement. Track is measured from the centre of one tyre to the centre of the other. If a car comes with different rims that have different offsets, and they often do, then the car will have multiple track measurements. However, a manufacturer will often just give one track measurement...perhaps when fitted with the entry level rims. The link that you posted has nothing to do with track measurement.
  8. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axle_track#:~:text=The axle track in automobiles, roadwheels on the same axle.&text=In a vehicle with two," and "rear track". The measurement of a car's track is not taken by reference to the car's axle. For example, the Smart 452 Roadster uses the same axle arrangement as the Smart 450 ForTwo. However, the Roadster has a 38mm bigger rear track. The only difference causing this difference is the offset of the rear rims. The Roadster uses 19mm less offset each side, thereby giving the increased rear track of 38mm over the narrower Smart 450 ForTwo. The offset of the rear rims on a Smart 450 ForTwo is ET(-)1 whereas the offset of the rear rims on a Smart 452 Roadster is ET(-)20. Notice, that these rims use a negative offset, whereas most cars nowadays use a positive offset. Only if you fitted rims with an offset of ET0 (ie. zero offset) would the track correspond to the axle width.
  9. Fitting wheels with a different offset changes the track. For example, if your wheels have an offset of ET45 and you change to wheels with an offset of ET38 then your front and rear track increases by 14mm. If your wheels have an ET45 offset and you fit 10mm wheel spacers, your wheels now have an offset of ET35. Fitting 10mm wheel spacers increases your front and rear track by 20mm,

  11. Outside diameter of 205/55R16 tyre is 631.9mm Outside diameter of 225/50R17 tyre is 656.8mm This means that the outside diameter of a 225/50R17 tyre is 24.9mm bigger (or in percentage terms 3.9% bigger) than a 205/55R16 tyre. Here's the maths: (16x25.4)+(205x1.1)=631.9 (17x25.4)+(225x1)=656.8 656.8-631.9=24.9 656.8/631.9=1.039
  12. The Octavia MK2 Scout comes with 225/50R17 tyres as standard. This means that the outside diameter of the tyre is about 1" bigger than non-Scout tyres which use tyre sizes such as 195/65R15, 205/55R16, 225/45R17. It's looks like the spare 16" wheel uses a 205/55R16 tyre, ie. a non-Scout size. This means that should you fit your spare, you will be driving around with one tyre about 1" smaller in outside diameter than the other tyres on the car. Probably best not to exceed 50mph when the spare is on. Do the full-size 225/50R17 wheels fit in the spare wheel space as they have an outside diameter of about 1" bigger than the spare tyre?
  13. The Greenline has lowered sports suspension as standard. This is done to improve the car's aerodynamic drag and therefore improve it's fuel consumption. The lower sidewalls of 17" and even more so 18" will make the ride harder. 195/65R15 tyres on 6Jx15 ET43 5/112 57.1 steel rims will fit the Greenline. http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/OCT/year/2016/drive_standart/753/hg_ug/601/subcategory/601010/part_id/2543681/lang/e Notice the two different designs of 15" wheel trims. 15. If it was dangerous, it would be in a high insurance group. It doesn't have anything like the low down pulling power of the turbo models. Skoda really should make the non-turbo a 1.2 litre like the Peugeot/Citroen 1.2 litre PureTech non-turbo petrol engine. That engine can produce maximum torque from 2,750rpm so if the top gear is geared at 20mph/1,000rpm you would get maximum torque in top gear when driving at just 55mph. This makes for a very nice and leisurely driving experience, not the frantic gutless behaviour of less civilised engines. The Fabia 1.0 litre petrol non-turbo produces 95Nm of torque at 3,000rpm compared to the Peugeot 1.2 litre petrol non-turbo with 118Nm of torque at 2,750rpm. So the Peugeot produces 24% more torque than the Fabia and does so at a lower engine speed. Compared to the Peugeot engine, the Fabia engine is very disappointing.

  17. Make sure you use the OEM part number in the title when you advertise it, or buyers won't find it amongst the millions of Skoda items that are advertised. In the description, include the OEM number in various formats such as XXXXXXXXX and XXX XXX XXX X, etc.
  18. Tyre Size 245/45R18 Approved Rim Width Range (inch) 7.5 to 9.0 https://www.toyo.co.uk/tire/pattern/proxes-sport Toyo gives the approved rim width range for all the tyre sizes that they sell. These approved rim width ranges are set by ETRTO (European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation) which all tyre manufacturers that sell in Europe follow. So all tyre manufacturers that sell 245/45R18 tyres in Europe will recommend a rim width range of 7.5J to 9.0J as they are all following ETRTO's guidelines If you look at the Toyo link above, you will see that the lower profile 245/40R18 and 245/35R18 tyres, have a 8.0J to 9.5J recommended rim width range. Therefore, the minimum rim width for 245/35R18 and 245/40R18 tyres is 8J, but the minimum rim width for a 245/45R18 tyre is 7.5J.
  19. If you have 7.5J or 8J rims, that tyre size will fit, ie. 245/45R18 fits 7.5J and 8J rims. This Skoda online parts catalogue show three styles of OEM 18" alloy rims for the Superb MK3 with a specification of 7.5Jx18 ET46 http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/SUP/year/2016/drive_standart/768/hg_ug/601/subcategory/601080/part_id/2543668/lang/e This link shows two other styles of 18" alloy rims for the Superb MK 3 with a specification of 8Jx18 ET44 https://www.skoda-parts.com/catalog/superb-3/spare-parts/accessories/wheels-steel-aluminium/aluminium-wheel-578.html So the OEM 18" alloy rims for the Superb MK3 appear to be either 7.5J or 8J. Here's a link to the Goodyear website in the US, which shows that a 245/45R18 tyre can be fitted to a rim between 7.5J and 9J. Scroll down to near the bottom of the page where it says: Tire Size 245/45R18 Approved Rim Width (in.) 7.5-9.0 https://www.goodyear.com/en-US/tires/eagle-f1-asymmetric-all-season The Goodyear website in the UK doesn't appear to show recommended rim widths, hence the link to the US version instead.
  20. The normal rim size for a 245/45 tyre is 8J. The fit is just like a 205/45 on a 7J rim and a 225/45 on a 7.5J rim. You could also fit a 245/45 tyre to a 7.5J rim. 8J is not narrow for a 245/45 tyre. The chart above is simplistic and in many cases wrong. The rim width depends on both the tyre width and its aspect ratio. For example, a 205/70 tyre can be fitted to a 5J rim and 205/50, 205/55, 205/60, 205/65 can be fitted to a 5.5J rim and 205/45 can be fitted to a 6.5J rim.
  21. There's more choice in the 245/45R18 size than the less common 235/45R18 size. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 245/45 R18 100Y XL J Euro Label B A 67dB This particular model of the Asymmetric 3 was fitted as original equipment to a Jaguar (hence the "J" designation in the title). Going by the 67dB rating, Jaguar wanted a quiet tyre. It's available from mytyres, oponeo, blackcircles, autodoc, and many other places. The Asymmetric 3 isn't the latest model, the noisier but also highly rated Asymmetric 5 replaced it. Check the Euro label carefully before ordering. If it's not B A 67dB, it's not this special Jaguar model of the Asymmetric 3, and one of the many other models of the Asymmetric 3. The other Asymmetric 3 models are noisier than 67dB. https://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&cart_id=NZqNZGmR0IiqO29R.110.291259885&sowigan=So&Breite=245&Quer=45&Felge=18&kategorie=6&Marke=Goodyear&ranzahl=4&Herst=Goodyear&m_s=3&Ang_pro_Seite=20&sort_by=Lable_3sound&rsmFahrzeugart=ALL&Label=B-A-67-1&details=Ordern&typ=R-293156#station_search https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre/goodyear-eagle-f1-asymmetric-3-245-45-r18-100-y-xl-fp-j#305002034_reviews https://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/goodyear/eagle-f1-asymmetric-3/245/45/R18/Y/100/m?tyre=34213744 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/tyres/goodyear-5452000539571-533314

  24. Take a look at the inside of your fuel filler flap. There should be tyre pressures listed for the various tyre sizes that were fitted to the Octavia Scout from the factory. According to wheel-size.com the standard tyre size was 225/50R17 fitted to a 7Jx17 ET50 rim. This has a bigger outside diameter than the non-Scout versions. It looks like the diameter of the front brake discs are 280mm/288mm which means that 15" rims would fit. Maybe you could see if a standard Octavia MK2 wheel kit would fit. 195/65R15 would get you home, but 205/70R15 would better match the outside diameter of 225/50R17 tyres. Another option is 16" rims with possibly 205/55R16 tyres but this like the 195/65R15 is a tyre size from a standard Octavia not the Octavia Scout. 15Jx15 ET47 steel rim from the Octavia MK2 non-Scout model https://www.autodoc.co.uk/alcar/14750831 6Jx15 ET43 steel rim from the Octavia MK3 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/alcar/14750637 Vredestein Quatrac 5 205/70R15 96T https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre/vredestein-quatrac-5-205-70-r15-96-t#305410811 The T-speed rated tyre means you are limited to 190km/h (118mph) but as a winter rated all-season tyre, (ie. 3PMSF symbol) is allowable. Don't exceed 118mph with T-speed rated tyres, and don't exceed 50mph (80km/h) when using different sized tyres on the same axle.
  25. Good idea, best to keep the warranty.
