  1. What tyre pressures does it say for your tyre size on the inside of the fuel filler flap? Maybe put a photo up on here of the tyre pressures.
  2. The tyre sizes and corresponding tyre pressures are usually shown on the inside of the fuel filler flap. What tyre sizes and tyre pressures does it show? Maybe put a photo up of the label on here. What tyre size are you using?

  4. 225/45R17 tyres will make the ride a lot better than 225/35R19 tyres, especially if you choose tyres with soft, flexible sidewalls such as summer touring tyres or all-season tyres, and avoiding UHP summer tyres which have stiff sidewalls. As the VRS230 has 340mm diameter front brake discs, you can't fit 16" wheels as the rims would foul the brake calipers. skoda eshop cz https://eshop.skoda-auto.cz/cs_CZ/hlinikove-disky/c/alloyWheels?sort=priceAsc&q=%3AscoreDesc%3AcarType%3AOctavia%2BIII%2B%282017%2B%29&show=Page# 205/50R17 fitted to 6.5Jx17 ET38 from the Kodiaq would give an even better ride than 225/45R17. 6. 225/50R17 raises the gearing by about 3.5% compared to 225/45R17. 225/50R17 is a more expensive tyre size than 225/45R17. If you want more sidewall, consider 195/65R15 or 205/55R16. Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 195/65 R15 91V (Euro Label B A 68dB) £53.00 https://www.camskill.co.uk/m53b0s418p188472/Goodyear_Tyres_Car_Goodyear_EfficientGrip_Performance_2_-_195_65_R15_91V_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_B_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_1_Noise%3A_68dB 205/55R16 91V (Euro Label B A 69dB) £60.60 https://www.camskill.co.uk/m62b0s291p188481/Goodyear_Tyres_Car_Goodyear_EfficientGrip_Performance_2_-_205_55_R16_91V_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_B_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_69dB 225/50R17 94W (Euro Label B A 70dB) £90.75 https://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s555p188407/Goodyear_Tyres_Car_Goodyear_EfficientGrip_Performance_2_-_225_50_R17_94W_FP_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_B_Wet_Grip%3A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_70dB Notice how the noise level and the price goes down as the tyre's width gets narrower...or at least in these sizes.
  7. The 18" and 19" options do limit your choice. 8. You're driving a Superb MK3, not a Ferrari. For most people including the passengers, the Superb MK3 would be better off with more refined summer touring tyres than UHP summer tyres. Don't think of UHP summer tyres as always better than more balanced summer touring tyres, because they aren't.
  9. Most firms are having Covid-19 related problems. Supply chains aren't running as efficiently as they were pre-Covid days.
  10. Michelin haven't updated their database, because the Michelin CrossClimate 2 215/50R18 92W is being sold by camskill, blackcircles, and mytyres, and probably many other sellers. Michelin CrossClimate 2 215/50R18 92W https://www.camskill.co.uk/m141b0s11739p0/All_Season_-_Four_Season_-_All_Weather_-_Car_MPV_Tyres_-_18_inch_R18_inch_-_215_50_18_215_50R18 https://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/215-50-18?seasonal=AllSeason&manufacturer=michelin&delivery=1 https://www.mytyres.co.uk/rshop/tyre/Michelin/CrossClimate-2-SUV/215-50-R18-92W/R-455657
  11. I am using Vredestein Quatracs, although I might try Dunlop all-season tyres next time as I like non-directional tyres and the latest Quatracs have gone over to a directional tread pattern.
  12. All BF Goodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Hankook, Kleber, Michelin, Nokian, Vredestein, etc. all-season tyres have the 3PMSF symbol. If they didn't have the 3PMSF symbol they wouldn't have enough traction in the snow, and wouldn't therefore be all-season tyres. However, in some countries such as the US they call summer tyres that aren't UHP, all-season tyres. Therefore, I am talking about European all-season tyres.
  13. There's no such thing as 3PM+S It's either 3PMSF or M+S. 3PMSF means 3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake M+S means Mud and Snow Ignore M+S because that doesn't have a proper test, and is old and outdated. It's the 3PMSF symbol that means the tyre is winter approved, and has passed a test for traction in the snow. 3PMSF Symbol shown on the sidewall https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_tire
  14. Skoda sometimes states in the owner's manual that winter tyres with a lower speed rating can be used. As all-season tyres have the 3PMSF symbol, they are winter tyres...as that symbol is the definition of a winter tyre. Winter tyres aren't available with the W speed rating in size 215/50R18. Maybe your insurance company thinks it's ok for you to slide about dangerously in the snow on your summer 215/50R18 W speed rated tyres. It wasn't long ago that some UK insurance companies were telling UK drivers not to use winter tyres because that was a modification. After a few years they admitted that they had made a mistake, and decided that using winter tyres wasn't a modification. UK insurance companies advise car drivers to always drive on summer tyres in the snow. (This is what happens...)

  17. Will you be able to buy a single rim at reasonable cost if one rim gets damaged in the future? I would stick to VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda group alloy rims. If one gets damaged, it's often easy to find an economical replacement on ebay. And these rims will have an OEM part number cast into them, which makes finding a replacement easy...as that's what you search for.
  18. Outside Diameter of Tyres 235/40R19 670.6mm 225/35R19 640.1mm Therefore, 235/40R19 has a 4.8% bigger outside diameter than 225/35R19. 235/40R19 is a Superb MK3 size tyre, not an Octavia MK3 size tyre. If you really want to try this size tyre, maybe buy a set of 19" Superb MK3 wheels as shown in the "skoda eshop cz" which use 8Jx19 ET44. If it's possible, the narrower 8J rim should help. You could also look at fitting standard ride height rubber bump stops to the front shock absorbers if there's rubbing when the front suspension fully compresses, although that might not be where any rubbing occurs. Often it's when you turn the steering wheel to full lock. 8Jx19 ET44 Superb MK3 Alloy Rims https://eshop.skoda-auto.cz/cs_CZ/hlinikove-disky/c/alloyWheels?q=%3ApriceAsc%3AcarType%3ASuperb%2BIII%2B%282015%2B%29&page=1 If you're looking for that extreme look, maybe consider fitting 8Jx20 ET41 Kodiaq rims with 225/35R20 tyres. Again, I can't tell you if there will be any rubbing but 225/35R20 is less likely to rub than 235/40R19. Outside Diameter of Tyres 225/35R20 665.5mm 225/35R19 640.1mm Therefore, 225/35R20 has a 4.0% bigger outside diameter than 225/35R19. 8Jx20 ET41 Kodiaq XTREME Alloy Rims https://eshop.skoda-auto.cz/cs_CZ/kolo-z-lehke-slitiny-xtreme-20-pro-kodiaq/p/565071490C+HA7
  19. Do you have the 215/60R16, 215/55R17, or 235/45R18 tyre sizes? Vredestein Quatrac are one of the highest mileage/low wear all-season tyres. They have by far the best cold, wet weather performance out of any all-season tyre. Testers have commented that they feel like a wet weather tyre, so big is the difference in cold wet grip between this and the other all-season tyres. Kleber Quadraxer 2 are very good in the snow and the wear is similar to the excellent Vredestein Quatrac. The downside of the Kleber's excellent snow performance is the so-so summer performance. But as you are not looking for a sporty summer tyre it may be ok for you. BF Goodrich g-Grip All Season 2 is virtually the same tyre as the Kleber Quadraxer 2, so is also worth looking at. BF Goodrich and Kleber are Michelin brands. Michelin used to price the BF Goodrich higher than the Kleber, but recently that's not always the case. Another all-season tyre I would look at is the latest Dunlop all-season tyre. This is one of the few remaining non-directional all-season tyres. The previous Vredestein Quatrac 5 was also non-directional, but not their latest Quatrac which no longer has a number after Quatrac, although some incorrectly call it the Quatrac 6. If you're looking for a bargain basement price, then the Apollo Alnac 4G All Season tyre might be worth looking at. Like the Dunlop, it's one of the few non-directional all-season tyres. Apollo is part of the same tyre group as Vredestein, but Apollo is priced lower and not quite as good. I don't think Apollo is worth considering if the tyre size is a common and cheap one, but the Superb MK3 uses expensive tyre sizes...so might be worth considering if the price saving is enough.
  20. Does your Fabia MK1 1.4TDI 70HP have air conditioning? The air conditioning adds a little front end weight, so some brands recommend slightly longer (uncompressed length) and/or stiffer front springs. Can you see the coloured dots/marks on one or both of the front springs, as that will identify the OEM part number of your current front springs? As you can see in the chart below, 1 red dot and 2 yellow dots is 6Q0411105AH. 1 red dot and 3 yellow dots is 6Q0411105AJ. 1 red dot and 4 yellow dots is 6Q0411105AK. They are available on ebay for under £15 each if buying two and using the 20% off code. You can think of Kilen as like Nokia, ie. made in Sweden, and KYB as like Samsung, ie. made in South Korea. One benefit of KYB, is that they usually give the specifications of their springs such as length, wire thickness, weight, etc. whereas Kilen don't. Another benefit is that KYB are often cheaper on ebay than Kilen. autodoc https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/coil-springs-10213/skoda/fabia/fabia-6y2/19225-1-4-tdi?supplier[0]=85&supplier[1]=246&criteria[100][2]=VA Kilen 23108 6Q0411105AK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323693514945?hash=item4b5da310c1:g:1AIAAOSw~jpcZE2b KYB RH2727 6Q0411105AJ 6Q0411105AK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334295841506?hash=item4dd595bae2%3Ag%3AwREAAOSwnpFh5qWj&LH_ItemCondition=3
