  1. Check prop shaft coupe to rear wheels this assumes your wheels are in balance and tyres are good
  2. I have a similar problem with the tailgate of the scout. It will always open with the key fob but it is a lottery with the switch on the tailgate
  3. No start with dpf then coolant sensor
  4. Check temp sensor for coolant and wires to and from sensor. This would in my opinion be a good place to start
  5. Don't know the problem but it sounds a bit like a turbo but I would not be surprised if it was a cam shaft either way not a cheap repair
  6. The bevel box oil fill point is difficult to get to. I showed (felt) the location of the fill point and then had to give the mechanic a feel as we where having some difficulty in locating it.
  7. The sensor is easy to replace. Getting the plug detached from the sensor is a bast*rd. I broke the wires on mine. If changing the sensor change the plastic housing also because it will leak in the not to distant future
  8. Check the oil level in the car. If there is a leak in the fuel system it could be causing the oil level to rise
  9. I suspect that the tunnel may be taller/deeper in the scout to hold the prop shaft
  10. Hello all Engine bmm with 165000 miles cam shaft failure at 122000 miles. I change oil and filter every 5000 to 6000 miles. VW 507 oil used along with OEM filter. The mechanic thinks that the shaft that was installed was of poor quality or the replacement shaft was not properly adjusted on installation. Thoughts on why this shaft failed after circa 45000 miles given the attention to oil changes. Question becomes fix the car or change. I like the car a lot. But this is very disappointing. I have a 2008 ford Mondeo and it never gives bother. Tsm
  11. To service halides unit and rear diff 4 bolts need to be opened. The orange ones in the picture above are haldex the blue are rear diff. They use different types of fluid. Also change the haldex filter Regards tsm
  12. A bmm engine will most likely need a new cam shaft in or around 200k kilometres
  13. Does the key fould when in the ignition. If so the transducer cannot see the key. Try to hold the base of the key in line with the blade when starting the car
  14. Hello all I am sick of misted windows on the car in the morning. I bit the bullet and bought a defa block heater ( coolant preheated). Installed this afternoon took about 3 hrs using bad tools. The cold is not a big deal in the west of Ireland but the damp is unreal.i have it on a timer for 30 mins before I go in the morning. Total cost circa 160 ish euro. Tsm
  15. As you look at the photo it is on the left. If I recall correctly circa 11 o clock relative to the drain plug. I could not see mini but I could feel it. At the end I had to show/ feel it to show my local mechanic. He dropped the subframe to get access. My car is pd bmm engine
  16. I replaced camshaft in bmm engine . I did oil change after camshaft and again at 500 miles and again at 2000 miles I place a magnet on the IL drain plug. This caught a significant amount of swarf
